I had a great experience at Pure Bliss. I first had a consultation with Merrick. My hair is EXTREMELY long and frizzy and I had done nothing with it for over 10 years (which is why it was long). I had a consultation about a cut and a Keratin treatment and boy am I glad I did. First of all, I love the salon, clean and classy! One time, Merrick cut my hair in exactly the way it should be cut, and then last week I got the Keratin treatment. I am amazed. My hair has not looked this good in my whole life. If you have frizzy unruly hair, go get a Keratin treatment (it is non-formaldehyde). Oh - and easy parking :) read more

I am new to Lewes so finding good salons, restaurants, gift shops etc takes some luck. Fortunately I spotted Bliss as a local business and decided to give it a try. The website made it easy to see the services they offer. The salon is neat and clean but also very serene. Kim has given me 2 pedicures, one regular and one Spa Pedi with gel. I loved them both. Beautiful and quaint, but pricey Aveda salon. I have had my hair done at Pure Bliss a handful of times and all of my experiences were decent to great! Tia does a great job and is realistic with meeting your expectations. I went to her when I wanted to lighten up for summer or darken for winter. She never leaves the colors flat and they look beautiful not matter how it is parted. One time I felt as though the color didn't change enough for me and she fixed it at no charge which I believe any salon should do. Make sure to be upfront about what you want and specify if you want full foils or a partial/balayage. Otherwise, you might get light hair only on the top of your hair and dark pieces underneath. Either way it is going to look great. There are plenty of products for sale such as scarves, purses, bath bombs, and extensive Aveda hair products. There is an Aveda makeup station with mirrors and the employees wear the products they sell. The front desk girl is very polite a As far as the pricing goes I would say it is expensive. The first time I went in for a balayage, olaplex treatment, and a blow dry and it swung me well over $200. I believe that is what you can expect from an Aveda salon as the products are more expensive. Overall, if you are looking to treat yourself, trust Tia with your hair! read more

This place is so welcoming and professional. I brought my newborn with me to get my hair done. I was anticipating being anxious and having a fussy baby while trying to get my haircut. The staff was kind and sociable with me, my husband and baby. I was put at ease instantly. They even entertained her while I was getting my hair done. They really went above and beyond for me. HONESTLY THE WORST EXPERIENCE WEVE EVER HAD. Got a gift card here for my wife for Mother's Day. first when she tried to make reservations they couldn't accommodate ANY times she was free and couldn't offer multiple things in one visit forcing her to need to set multiple inconvenient reservations to get everything she wanted to get done done. THEN she goes for her first appointment and wanted to get her nails done and waited 45 mins to be helped JUST to get a nail artist that couldn't even do designs. painting was the best she can do and if she wanted something special she'd need to go to ANOTHER person on ANOTHER appointment. Disapointing for what they charge! THEN she goes for a pedi appointment to finish the gift card and waits ANOTHER 45 mins past her reservation after being told "theyd be with her in a minute" and was only noticed when a barber literally stopped cutting hair because he realized she was sitting forever, and still had to wait forever to be seen for average job literally ANYONE could have done. And back when we had issues the first time and asked for a refund on our gift card they said there was nothing they could do? if I could give this place negative 5 stars I would. if I could board the place up it would be even better. thank you for making my wife's birthday and Mother's Day a disaster. I visited this salon in February and since I am new to Yelp, I am just now posting my review. RUN FROM THIS SALON! I have never had a salon destroy my hair the way this lady did. I told her from the beginning how hard my very pale blonde hair is to color, but she assured me she had been doing this for years, and as a blonde herself, always did well with blondes. Well - FIVE HOURS later, I was in tears with bright orange roots and bright white "highlighted" stripes going down my hair. At first she tried to convince how "good it looked" but then finally said that there was nothing more that she could do and could I come back the next day for her to try and "fix" it. I stupidly agreed but never ended up going back - because she called me the next morning to say that she felt there was nothing else for her to do to try and fix it. Are you kidding me???? The only "good" thing about this salon was that they refunded me and the manager called me back very quickly when I called to complain. read more

I followed Sait to Pure Bliss as he is a great guy and a great stylist. My hair only requires a cut (no color etc, as it is white/gray) and Sait gives it style and a GREAT cut. He is kind and patient too. The Pure Bliss salon was a good place to become acquainted with--as it is such a relaxing, calm environment with good people. This isn't the same catty, stuck up atmosphere that you'd walk into in most salons these days. The women that work here are talented, respectful, and funny to boot. The owner, Melanie U., is also one of the stylists. Love her! I drive an hour and a half just to have her cut my hair! I went in to this salon very hopeful for a nice blond color. I did get that, however, my roots are red/orange, after over 6 hours of sitting in the chair on two occasions and for $250.00, without a cut. It still red/orange 5 weeks later. My hair is naturally dark brown, so I know blond is a challenge. I should not have let them try a different color on my roots, this was there idea and the first time anyone ever mentioned that. I do love Aveda and really like the blond color, I hate the roots and all the negative comments asking what happened to your hair. The icing on the cake was two things, too pushy on sales of products, I order my Aveda on line and get a discount. I was asked it I was on medication and I am not, I advised them I am not. The final straw was I called yesterday and wanted to make another appointment just to go back to my original roots which I will pay for. The person answering the phone was very bothered and said "What's up" when I gave my name and asked if that had a minute. I asked out of respect as they sounded busy. I realize they probably feel I was/am a nightmare customer, I am not. They should not have tried to lighten my natural roots to a lighter brown making it orange. I was going to just let this experience go and find another Aveda salon, but after how I was treated yesterday I decided I was not just going away without comments. I see another review saying run from the salon. I wish I had read that before I went. read more
