Avenue Garage is an authorized dealer for APR tuning. My 2014 Volkswagen CC was completely stock with the manufacturer rated 200 horsepower and 207 foot pounds of torque (APR dyno'd the stock motor at 221hp and 223 ft-lbs.) This is a reasonable amount of power but considering the basic architecture of this motor is tuned considerably higher in other VW/Audi applications, I wanted to upgrade its performance. FWIW, those sharing this 2.0 TSI motor include the VW Passat, GLI, GTI Tiguan and the Audi A3 and TT (and others.) APR has been among the best tuners for over 20 years with a reputation for performance, quality and reliability. Their Black Friday special was too good to miss. Ron at Avenue Garage was very helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. He thoroughly explained the process and worked with me on the logistics of getting my daily drive in and serviced. Kirk did the tune (more about that later) and I couldn't be happier with the service he performed. My car was done well within the time estimated and the cost was right where it was estimated. The Stage 1 tune is nothing short of amazing. APR really has tuning down to a science. Peak acceleration has definitely increase significantly, but ordinary performance has noticeably improved. APR states that fuel economy will increase but I would imagine that would have to be if you are showing some restraint with driving habits. The car is definitely quicker. I haven't tested it and I don't have a baseline, but I'm sure the 0-60 and 1/4 miles times are dramatically improved. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner. I was considering buying another car with better performance. But the result of this $500 upgrade is real bargain and driving performance makes it feel like a totally new car. This is the tune that VW should have used from the factory. Given the exceptional service and incredible performance upgrade, I can't recommend Avenue Garage and an APR enough. 2024 must have been an off year for the Avenue Garage. I've heard from a neighbor who previously worked as a mechanic there that they have quite a turnover with new mechanics and heard from another source that mechanics get commissions these days. I took my 2013 Mercedes convertible there in January 2024 and left it there for diagnostics of an overheating problem after being stuck in traffic all day from 1-75 being closed on December 27th or 28th 2023 due to a bad multiple vehicle accident. The Avenue Garage said the head gaskets were blown and it needed an engine replacement. They did find a replacement engine with approximately 50,000 miles "of course that's what they all say I have learned". Then the repair estimate was over $11,000 to replace the engine and make sure everything was operating properly. I decided that seemed really high and ended up leaving the vehicle here at my second home in Punta Gorda and deal with it this 2025 season. In January 2025 I contacted a Mercedes Benz repair specialist in Pompano Beach Florida and told him that it was determined last year by another repair technician in the Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda area that the car needs a replacement engine so he said he would try to find one and get back with me. He did find a replacement engine within a month then called me back with an estimate of approximately $4500 total for the engine and putting it in. The engine itself was $2100 which was included in the total price of $4500. I then paid for the engine and scheduled my once a year long haul tow up to 200 miles and had the vehicle towed to Pompano Beach for replacement of the engine. ABA Performance in Pompano Beach then test drove the car a few times, ran the engine diagnostics, determined it was low on coolant and spark plug #3 was misfiring but GUESS WHAT THE CAR DID NOT NEED A REPLACEMENT ENGINE AFTERALL! I was very skeptical about what I was being told but he satisfied me with his answers to all of my question. He did do a complete service on the vehicle and fixed what was needing to be fixed. So now I have a 2013 Mercedes replacement engine for sale $2100 OBO! So glad I didn't fall for the over 11 grand repair job that the Avenue Garage recommended. I almost sold the car as is to another neighbor thinking it needed an engine replacement and left the car here in Punta Gorda with a car cover on it which blew off during Helene or Milton not sure which hurricane it was. I would like to commend and thank Jason, Kirk and all at Avenue Garage for the warranty replacement of the ABS Pump/Module that failed on my 2010 VW Jetta. Not only did they replace the faulty unit free of charge, but cleaned the vehicle inside and out as well as inspected the car for additional deficiencies. This was a safety courtesy to me without any pressure to perform the repairs or drum up sales. I have 3 vehicles that I have had Avenue Garage servicing for 5 years. I also know 3 other people that have been having their cars serviced there for at least 5 years. The turn over in personnel at the front desk over the last year and half has been disturbing. I have had to take my car back twice in 2 years to fix the original problem AGAIN after only a couple of days. I can't get my car in for 3 weeks for something that may be minor because they are too busy. They wouldn't even send a tech out to plug in to confirm what I suspect is wrong. I guess the seasonal people are more important than their regular customers. I guess we should ALL be looking somewhere else for service. Ive had several of my vehicles worked on by this garage however, the last one I brought in made me question the quote!! They quoted me $1650.00 for a power Steering pump, hoses, fluid etc... then $2400.00 for ( brand new back pads are new).. calibers.. routers.. etc... Avenue Garage is awesome! Brought my car in for a check engine light. Codes showed rear oxygen sensor which they replaced. Picked up car and light came on again. This happened several times. Kevin kept the car until all codes were cleared in the evap system and replaced additional parts at his expense because "we didn't fix it right the first time". Just purchased a used Audi A4 convertible in January. It needed a number of repairs and I didn't want to use Audi service as I knew that they would charge an arm and a leg. Did some online research and found good reviews for these guys. Audi quoted me $800 to do control arm bushings and Avenue was only $410. Needed a set of tires and they told me it would take 4 or 5 days but when they heard we had a trip to Charleston planned in 3 days they pulled some strings and got them in and installed in 2 days. Very professional. I highly recommend them. I live in Punta Gorda, so a side benefit is that it is much handier to get service in Port Charlotte than to go to the Audi dealer in Ft Myers or Sarasota. read more

Severely disappointed! Used them for years but last time they changed oil in my Mercedes my K&N filters were removed from my car! There was a sticker on the filter area too. Also told me a lot of things were wrong with the car and when I brought it to the dealership they said only 2 out of 7 needed repair. :( Very Sad that this happened. read more

I have been using this garage for three years now.I have repeatedly priced them against other garages and dealers,and no one beats their prices and best of all quality of work.Example on one occasion I needed to return for a wheel sensor to be installed,they removed the tire to do the install but could not take the car into the shop as they were so busy.The mechanic when finished placed the tire back on the wheel but instead of using a standard wrench to tighten the lugs used a torq wrench ,talk about great training. My husband and I own a 23', 2006 Winnebago RV on a Sprinter chassis, powered by a 2005 Mercedes diesel. On my husband's first visit to Avenue Garage in January, he had a fuel filter and serpentine belt changed. Other than this being an RV this was nothing out of the ordinary except for the good work and a great price. However,on Friday June 5th, we were preparing to leave the following Monday for a family vacation to California. As my husband was checking out the RV, he discovered no air conditioning. He called Avenue Garage and spoke with Rob, who said they would try to see what the problem was that afternoon, so we could meet our vacation schedule.Rob checked the whole AC system. He found the problem. A mouse had chewed through a wire. Rob soldered on a new wire. We were up and running in less than a hour! These guys buy used parts off ebay and then return the 'broken' parts to ebay sellers under the 'ebay policy guarantee'. They did it to me, and will do it with others. BE CAREFUL and beware of Paul and company. What they fail to mention is that they didn't return the same item they purchased from me, as the parts were marked prior to shipment. They didn't even visually look the same as the dash lettering was different on the piece they returned for a refund. Thus they sent me some unknown item, and my stuff is probably in their shop or car someplace. The part I sent was sold untested -with no returns, as I don't have an old Jag around to test. I stand behind my honesty but theirs is definitely lacking...or they're so disorganized that they don't realized they sent the wrong dash parts back. Nice way to keep the costs low. read more
