A lot…read more So, when I say that Briarwood is the best animal hospital/vet clinic I've ever been to, not only is that out of a big sample size, but it's the highest praise I could give. Briarwood's folks were prompt and wonderful on the phone. They knew exactly what offerings they had, their schedule, prices, with no hesitation over the phone. They were willing to take in both of our dogs and a stray (THREE dogs) in one appointment, and that appointment was a masterclass in caring efficiency. Taking care of three dogs at once is impressive, but doing it with care and making sure each one gets the individual attention they need is unheard of. Not only did we get thorough checkups and necessary shots for everyone, but since they're a groomer too they threw in things like nail trimming (much needed for my old, slow dogs) just as part of the appointment. That alone was huge. I was particularly shocked when a little less than a week after our appointment, the vet we saw called to follow up and see how the stray was doing (he'd been malnourished and weak when we brought him in) which was above-and-beyond, and exactly the kind of thing I look for when trying to find someone to look after my furry friends. When everyone else wanted to put her to sleep some years back you kept her alive and well. Friday, January 11, 2019 I caught a skunk in a live trap and released it in a wildlife preserve north of town... instead of going into the preserve it turned around, climbed into my van, eventually, with "coaxing" it jumped out and scurried away... with all the windows rolled down I drove home. Had some repair work to do on a home down the block, April Showers followed me the whole 100 yards, by the time she got to where I was working the job was pretty much done, we turned around and slowly walked back home. I really felt good- April was getting exercise like she hadn't done in years, even following me from room to room indoors and vacant lot to vacant lot in the park... but then a second thought made me wonder if she was trying to tell me something... she's lost so much weight the past 2 - 3 years, though her appetite's been good I've been fearful recently a circling hawk might grab her, and she'd been showing recent signs of frustration due to waning strength shown in failed jumps and an occasional misstep along the path, a table's edge and the front edge of the kitchen sink on the way to the top of her favorite room in the house- the refrigerator. She climbed to her nap on the fridge after a small lunch and I went outside, trying to deodorize my van of skunk. When I went back in the house a very fat sparrow flew over my shoulder, perching on top of the refrigerator, not knowing it was inches from a slumbering cat... April turned to look, the alarmed sparrow flew off, and with a flying leap April sprang for the bird... but fell short and landed on the floor. She looked and acted ok then and for the next couple days but then began spontaneously meowing a bit more often than usual... I scrambled to cat care websites, I rubbed honey on her gums, she could still make her way to the top of the fridge and still hop up to nap on my lap until Monday night, she went to the litter box and was too tired or too much in pain to get out. I carried her to the bedroom, it was 10:30 PM, set her on the floor, as I undressed for bed she crawled and hopped into bed, she cried or moaned a couple times that night, even walking on my stomach and chest to my face as she sometimes would do through the years, I'd rub her head and ears and gums, then she'd turn and go back to a spot beside me. Early Tuesday morning, each time I looked at her I thought she was dead but a closer look saw she was breathing. She cried or moaned a couple more times before sunrise and lay still with slight breathing. About a mile from your office I stopped for a red light, she started moving, maybe she only needs a shot of B12, adrenaline, or something... one leg kicked out like she was stretching, her mouth opened like a yawn, I had to look away and drive for the light turned green but the next time I looked at her she was gone. I'm sorry I waited until it was too late, the symptoms were there, too reluctant, too stupid, too slow to admit it and do a better job trying to saving her life.

Over the decades we've been to multiple vets in Little Rock. Without a doubt Town & Country exceeds all others. Never Ever have I experienced the issues described in the reviews. Everyone at the clinic is responsive, caring, friendly, and professional. Good service costs money. I have never experienced overcharging, excessive testing, or lack of empathy. With regard to charges, call around. One of my Papillon's suddenly became ill and Dr Bridges was also suddenly ill due to detached retina. Thus I had to take her to the 24 hr Emergency Clinic. The vet - without talking with me or taking a history - said Maggie had kidney failure and should put her down. (Try going there is you want all the negatives the reviews ascribe to Town & Country & Dr. Bridges). Kidney failure does not suddenly manifest! Monday Town & Country 'worked her in' She was misdiagnosed at the 24 Clinic. She had developed Addison's Disease. Go there if you want all the negatives the reviews ascribe to Town & Country & Dr. Bridges. Maggie & Bella are now 16 & 17. We will keep going to and recommending Town & Country and Dr Bridges.

I took my Schnauzer to Hartman for his entire life. At least 1x per year he'd get some sort of…read moregastrointestinal issue, usually a little blood in the stool. Almost a decade of charted issues and routine check ups. Somehow, his back tooth got bad enough that it got infected. Took him in on a Thursday and the vet prescribed him NSAIDs. Now, at this point, I have no idea. I'm not a vet. I trust the professionals. By Friday night he is puking up blood. Hartman closes at 5pm, this happened literally at 5:15 pm. So I hope for the best and plan on taking him in on Monday. He wound up having to go to the emergency vet because he started wailing in pain toward Sat night. Come to find out, NSAIDs are not good for gastrointestinal sensitive patients and is ultimately what caused his internal bleeding. Why was he prescribed NSAIDs with his charted history. A simple google search of "should you give NSAIDs to someone with GI issues" returns a resounding NO. Yet they did and my dog is no longer here because of it. My GFs dog, who grew up with my Schnauzer, was a long haired Daschund. After he was 10 years old, Hartman said over and over that his teeth were getting bad but at his advanced age, wasn't a good idea to be put under. Fast forward SEVEN years later of this being the same narrative when we would take him in and say "maybe we need to pull some teeth here". Nope, he's too old for that. Well, finally, his teeth abscessed and Hartman finally agreed to put him under and do some surgery. They cleaned his teeth and pulled a few and assured us he should be on the right path. Less than a month later we were back in their office because his mouth was worse. The infection was so bad it had eaten away some of his upper pallet and was rotting through the outside of the skin (see below EDIT: couldn't post due to it being graphic because his little face was THAT BAD). They FINALLY realized they fucked up and referred to us to Memphis to a vet that specializes in dental issues. They were appalled at his condition and could not believe that he had been under the care of a licensed Vet, much less Hartman who they take referrals from all the time. This vet is like a bad PCP. Cookie cutter diagnosis, always by the book even when the patient presents with obvious symptoms, nope, by the book. One dog died due to their negligence and my other dog suffered needlessly for YEARS with infected teeth because the book said it was risky to do a teeth cleaning on a dog that was 10. He lived until 17 AND HAD SURGERY AT HARTMAN at 17 years old. Had they taken his teeth more serious (and shame on me for "trusting" the professionals against my better judgement, a mistake I will not make again) my sweet little guy would have had a much better quality of life in his golden years. **I kept this all to myself for a few years until I realized they are paying to be promoted on Google as a top result. Please take your beloved animals anywhere else**
