Safi and the guys down at AVi are fantastic. I've had sat radio, Laser Interceptor, flip up front license plate and XPEL Ultimate installed on my 911 and Laser Interceptor, window tint and an Escort 9500ix integrated into my Cayenne this year. They also did a full detail on my 911 and it looks better than new. I did have a couple issues with the window tint and Sat radio (none of which is Avi's fault) but Safi took care of all my warrantee problems quickly. I've had several things done to my car there (stereo, bluetooth kit, custom sub box and amps, window tints, etc), and I'm always amazed at what they come up with, and how well it's done. Ken is true craftsman and fabricator, and Safi is always making sure I'm happy with the work done. These guys know their stuff. I was referred to AVI Boston through Audi of Brookline to have an aftermarket iPod installation done. I have a 2006 Audi A6 which did not come with the Audi music interface. These guys did an amazing job putting in A device from Mobridge that allows you to completely control your iPod using the Audi steering wheel and MMI interface. They do a very professional job and take great care to make sure to keep everything in your car looking to read from the factory. They installed the module completely behind the glove box and you would never know wasn't from Audi. read more

I have seen AVI at the Larz Anderson "Tutto Italiano" lawn event several years in a row displaying their Ferrari F430 which they had done custom audio work. Safi has a true appreciation for cars beyond the flashiness of stereotypical exotic car owners, and enjoys sharing that appreciation with the automotive community. Initially, I had attempted to install on my own a Boss aftermarket head unit purchased from Amazon for my '04 Expedition. A roll of medical tape and botched wiring job later, I gave up and brought my Expedition to AVI. For those interested in details, I cut all 20+ wires from my old unit and reattached the old wires to the new head unit wires by taping and twisting them together, without using a harness. They were able to salvage my car's electrical system (I blew a couple fuses too) and charged 1hr of labor for the job. Afterwards they walked me through the radio setup. About a month has passed with no issues. Their rates are certainly in the "premium" category, however if you have a complicated job or need attention to detail, I would certainly recommend this over Best Buy or another basic audio shop. read more

Over the last year+ AVI performed phenomenal work on four of my cars, a newer BMW wagon and three BMW E30s, including window tinting, remote lock/start, new headlights with xenon conversion and another with LED conversion, map light install, stereo and speakers, chasing down a few electrical gremlins, etc. Some of the work was a bit complex, requiring custom fabbing and ingenuity, Expertly redid shoddy, two year old work from a well known shop in Medford. Safi, the owner, and Ken, the main magician, are meticulous and excellent communicators and educators. Hourly rates are are high-end but commensurate with the expertise. read more

Safi and the guys over at AVI are great! I needed to connect my iphone through my radio and didn't want to deal with wires all over the place from the ones at stores. AVI helped me out and set me up with a cord that they installed through my center console. It looked great and was exactly what I wanted. A few month later I went back because I wanted to upgrade my headunit. Again he helped me pick out the perfect one and the install was awesome! He even gave me a quick tutorial on how to use it. Almost did not go here after reading the bad reviews, but it is right next to my office, so i thought why not give it a try, and i was happily surprised. I was selling my Series 3 BMW and asked them to remove my Premium Kenwood DVD system and install the factory unit. They quoted and charged me $120. I was expecting to get one big bundle of cables back. But to my surprise, everything was neatly boxed away, cables where tied together and they even removed the aftermarket switches without any extra charge. read more

I wanted to upgrade the audio on my BMW X5 back in 2009, when I started looking at custom installations. Visited couple of shops, did lots of research on various components (speakers, amps, etc) and my visit to AVI help me firm up the plan for the upgrade. Safi was very helpful and explained me in detail what was involved and the estimated cost. They worked on the car for 2 days and the end result was very good and exceeded my expectations. Forward 3 yrs, I needed to get some work done on my new Italian motorcycle and as expected, they did a superb job on the installation. I went to AVI to get a quote on a tint job for my car. Safi, the owner was there, and greeted me with a friendly smile.He helped me choose the tint percentage that suited my car by showing me other customers cars that were tinted. I decided on 20% in the back and 35% in the front. It looks great. No bubbles or peeling at all. They know what they are doing at AVI and they have exceptional customer service. Do not use these guys!! Sold and installed a Kenwood stereo that had multiple problems. Wanted to charge me a $25 fee to fix them,one day after it was installed. This was on top of the $1600 I was charged. Frustrated I went to Krank it Up in Medford, they fixed the problems and explained and showed me what they did. AVI is less than a mile from my house but I choose to drive 10 miles to get Great Service. read more

I had a Sirius satellite radio installed into my 2011 f350. Everything works as it should and the fit and finish of the docking station which was installed into my dash was way better than I every thought it would have turned out. I am glad I listened to safi's suggestions. I showed up at the end of the install so I was able to see what it looked like before all the covers were put back on and was pleased to see that he soldered all the wires together and shrink tubed over the solder joints. This is the best way it can be done. In the past I had work done from another place and when I had some issues I took a look at it myself and found that the wires where just twisted together and taped. Over time I think vibration made it come apart. I know that I will never have a problem with my satellite radio cause it was installed the right way the first time. It may take a little longer and cost a little more but it is worth it. It sucks if you are driving cross country and lose your satellite radio like I did. read more

I went to AVI because i saw all the great looking work they did on BMW', Bentleys, Ferrari's etc. I drive a Toyota and thought i would get the same... First, they had it since 9am, then i called at 4:30 only to hear they were having problems installing it and they needed my factory radio brackets for a correct install. I didnt have them as i already had an aftermarket radio installed prior. I was never told i needed to have them nor was i called anytime during the day saying to somehow get them so they can finish. I couldn't get them that day so they installed it so it was sticking out almost an inch outside the casing. I was told that if i got the factory brackets, it would sit flush. I even called the day i ordered the parts to confirm that the radio would sit flush! Safri(the owner) said YES! I spent another $50 to get the brackets and it still sits outside the casing..He offered no explanation except that is how the radios fit in......why didn't i hear of this before i bought the brackets?? The radio sits kinda loose and it is also not level. The casing/bezel for the unit had a light scratch on the side from the initial install. The aftermarket radio housing was also scratched because of the first install they did without the brackets that became visible after the factory brackets were installed. It also tilts towards the passenger which is not ideal.. At $90/hour, you would think they would care a little more of how it looks in the end..i am going somewhere else to have it reinstalled. I still haven't turned it on because it looks really bad. I also had a Sirius Radio Tuner installed when i had the older radio in a few years ago. Upon looking at the work they did on my current radio..i then saw that i was charged $50 to install an iPod cable from the back of the receiver to the glove box..6" away. I didn't agree about the excess charge for such a small job and was told they just charge a flat fee for all vehicles..I expected it to be installed somewhere smooth and accessible for the $50 i saw on the quote. I even bought the almost outdated 30 pin cable from them for $40. Anyway, then i saw where the Sirius Radio Tuner was installed...it was WEDGED behind a metal factory bracket with no securement in place..i was charged 2 hours for that installation..$180? That tuner has been banging around for almost 2 years. Every time i would hit a bump or a pothole, i would hear a metallic bump..i could never figure out what it was until now..im never going back now.. I would have given 3 stars if i didnt have to go back again..I don't care if I'm told i can bring it back to adjust things, my time is worth something too! Get it right the first time!
