They answered all my questions and helped me pick out some great pieces. Uncommon James has a fun mix of styles, from delicate chains and everyday hoops to eye-catching pendants and bold statement pieces. They offer collections in Vermeil and Sterling Silver, plus some cool home goods and fragrances. I love mixing metals, so I ended up getting a few dainty gold rings and a chunky ring that has both gold and silver. I'm really happy with my picks, especially the chunky ring--I've gotten tons of compliments on it since I wear it almost every day. It's held up pretty well over the last couple of months, but we'll see!

This seems like the kind of shop set up by young mothers who wanted to set up a community gathering place for fellow families. There's even a back room for birthdays, classes, and other events. The front has a nice selection of books, toys, and other fun stuff. We ended up purchasing some postcards (for coloring) for our grand girls. As a bonus the nice woman at the front gave us a good music recommendation (Robert's Western World on Broadway) and a mention of the impressionist exhibit at the Frist Art Museum. We talked for a few minutes and there was always a warm and inviting smile from her. The service was great both times I came and I ended up purchasing some nice things. On the inside you will find several different kinds of items to by. Most of them are geared towards children such as dolls, clothing, jewelry, and books. Everything feels natural inside with the presence of pastels and earth tones that present themselves gently to the eyes. You won't find cheap brightly colored plastic toys or items here. There is also a children's arts and craft area in the back and today they just so happen to be having some kind of puppet workshop which I found delightful. The staff are another huge plus--they're super helpful and will even go the extra mile by looking up product details online if they can't answer a question on the spot. They've also been great about helping load big items into my car and even taking things apart to test them (like making sure batteries work). I always leave a happy customer! I haven't started selling yet, but I'm already looking forward to bringing in my gently used items for them to resell. My only small gripe is that they only carry sizes from newborn up to around size 14, which typically fits kids up to about 13 or 14 years old. That means I'll eventually have to head back to department stores when my grandson outgrows them--but until then, this place has me covered.
