It is owned by a husband and wife duo, with a passion for the back in the day way mixed with those unmistakable southern vibes. The patterns that hang above you as you take it all in against that pop of orange chandelier had this former designer gasping. The colors, textures and simplicity of the space I found just so, so lovely. Definitely worth a stop in regardless of your intentions. The ambiance alone is so hip! Unfortunately, I cannot speak about the jeans. I didn't purchase any as I'm trying not to stay this size for very much longer but mark my words, when I get back to my goal size, this is where I'm splurging! They look incredible! This was a new brand to us all together and we loved the fabrics and the styles. My husband walked away with two shirts and a jacket. All of the materials are super soft (like buttery), no-iron and cuts are ready-to-wear off the shelf and look perfect on my husband. Although there are a few "cuts/styles" of let's say shirts, they are athletically cut and tailored, but off the shelf...there is definitely a market for this concept and I think State and Liberty looks to play a roll. Honestly, if you shop online, you better be sure you're keeping what you buy because returning or exchanging something is unnecessarily difficult. Even though they state a 14-day return policy, you can't simply take your item back to the store--even if it's only been one day since pickup. You have to email, wait for approval, and sometimes make phone calls just to arrange a basic return or exchange. If it happens to be the weekend, good luck, because there's no one available to handle it. I love their merchandise, but the return process makes me think twice about ordering online again. Great clothes, terrible return and exchange experience.
