Case management and business staff was almost impossible to communicate with. I am my mother's medical power of attorney and was not included in discharge planning, Appeared medical staff was not even familiar with my mother's medical history. During one meeting, case manager did not even appear to have reviewed my mother's records and believes she had diabetes. She has never had diabetes. The day she was discharged, I learned that she had not been given her daily medications, and they actually lost the medication she was to be discharged with. Finally, we were due for a refund, as she discharged prior to the fees that had already been paid. This was only $400 but when your parent, lives on a fixed income, stealing from my elderly parent is egregious. I have made multiple attempts to reach out to management, left emails, messages, filed a complaint with the BBB as well as the Attorney General's Office and have not received even a phone call. At first appearance, the place is clean and presentable but would not even trust this place with my pet. I am currently employed as a SW/CM and understand how this is supposed to work. This is not it.

Such as needing assistance with bathing or medications . 24 hour nursing staff available. They have a gym availability with supervision. A nurse practitioner from Pak medical clinic is available 1 time a month. And a local podiatrist also comes to the Blake. Transportation on Tuesday and Thursdays for doctor appointments. Once a week residents can get in the tram to go shopping at either HEB or Walmart. They can also sign up to go to restaurants( of course they pay individually). Occasionally they go for a play or other entertainment. I went with my mom to see an Elvis impersonator, great fun. Another residents could sign up to go to local playhouse, circle Arts entertainment. The front receptionist ladies Courtney and Deb are the best. They're always sweet and welcoming. My mom loves it here. For those whose family members need it there is a memory care.

Checking into the facility, I noticed it looked a bit old and had walls being repainted BUT it looked and smelled very clean. Despite this, I has my reservations about leaving my mom. It was the first time that we had been in a situation where we required extensive nursing care outside of our home. Then, I met Lela. She is a nurse manager at the facility. Immediately she sensed my apprehension. I expressed that I didn't want to leave my mom. She encouraged me and offered reassurance. She said, "Maybe the building needs TLC and we're working on it but, I guarantee you, the people here are the best at what they do and you're mom will excel." So, although I was hesitant, I left my mom, and returned the next day and the next day and the day after that.... What I witnessed was truly remarkable. Having been a patient and being a Nurse Practitioner, I can tell you that medicine isn't always kind...except at Sonterra Health Center. Every single staff member that the facility has amassed CARES for their patients. They take their lunch breaks in their patient's rooms if they notice someone feels lonely, they come in with a smile at the beep of every call bell, they gladly change out food trays if the least bit of disappointment is expressed. Every single person has gone above and beyond to support my mother as she heals. They even provided my mother with a volunteer opportunity to do some social service, which lifted her spirits. The testament to the staff was that when it came time to go home, she didn't want to leave! I will never use another facility for skilled nursing. Hands down, the best place!!!

We have been bringing our grandson to BWell Clinic for years, so it was very disappointing to see how much negatively the experience has changed. We went in recently and were told that they no longer accept walk-ins and that we needed to schedule an appointment. We scheduled one, but after what happened, I asked to cancel it. Our grandson is autistic, and while we were there, he was having an episode and became loud. Instead of showing compassion, patience, or understanding, the nurse immediately told us that when we come to appointments, we need to be "safe and control him because we have other patients." As his family and caregivers, we know how to care for him and handle his behaviors. He has been coming to this clinic for years, and the previous staff knew him and treated him with kindness and understanding. I asked to speak with the nurse in charge, Derik, because I wanted to address the situation appropriately. I was told he was with another patient and would be out shortly. Unfortunately, the nurse left the conversation without showing any understanding or compassion for the situation. Her attitude was extremely rude and inconsiderate. Working with patients, especially children with disabilities, requires patience, compassion, and understanding. We did not feel that was demonstrated during our visit. I ultimately canceled the appointment. After years of coming to BWell Clinic, it is very disappointing to leave feeling unwelcome and judged. Based on this experiences we , we will not be returning. The staff( from custodial, maintenance, activities, kitchen, nursing to administrative) has demonstrated a genuine concern for his medical(24/7 nursing access) and physical (meals, laundry, personal hygiene, a clean room) needs. The three meals per day he has thoroughly enjoyed, as he has put on fifteen pounds in his three months there ( served at his bedside instead of the spacious community dining room; he has been spoiled.) Our sister-in-law(Eloise G. -a nurse of 45yrs., retired) after visiting commended the facility and personnel for their cleanliness, lack of odors and professionalism-their caring attitude was exemplary. This assessment was very reassuring to our family. We thank his primary care physician ( Dr. Borgfeld) for having recommended Autumn Winds.
