I had a confirmed reservation for pick up 11/20 at 4:30pm at Avis. I arrived after a 45 minute uber ride to the Avis at the Beaumont TX Airport. Tyler the counter help refused to give me a car. He stated he was holding the cars he had for real customers for 11/21 & for me to call Hertz. I gave him my reservation number & showed him my Avis app with the reservation on it and my confirmation email. He said it looked faked and I must have been scammed. I am now stranded at the Beaumont airport with no where to go and no vehicle because all the car rental places are closed for the night. Tyler could care less & I am not even going to say what i think of this . I called Avis & they said they're in the Carribean and cannot call Avis locations. I am a preferred customer & that means absolutely nothing. I am telling you now never rent from Avis!!!! I am so angry & infuriated I cannot explain. Avis will never get my business again & hopefully if you are reading this they won't get yours either. read more

Didn't have any issue with my trip or my car. I did select a small SUV as my car of choice but when I got there, way earlier then my assigned pickup, there weren't any suv for me. So they issued me a truck at no extra cost. Which driver very nice. Wasn't a fan of all the gas it used but I was just happy to have a nice ride. I will defiantly return the location is continent and reasonable quick to go in and pick up from. read more

zero, I rented a car in May the car had a flat tire, after waiting over three hours for the Avis wrecker he called and said the Avis card was declined and they would not be picking us up! Avis instructed us to go back approx. 30 miles to Biloxi, after getting the tire inflated by someone who felt sorry for me and 88 year old Mother. They assured a car would be waiting and we could continue our journey. Upon arrival, Avis was closed and we left the car, walked to a motel and had to spend the night to get a exchange car the next day. After ALL reservation customers, two hours later they exchanged our vehicle. Continued our journey to Florida and the exchange car after three days would not start. After calling Avis to come get this car, one hour later a phone call to say after 46 years of marriage my husband just passed away from a hear attack. DEVISTATED I called Avis and they said wait for us to pick up or you will be considered abandoning the vehicle!! I sat and waited, after returning home, the funeral and much to take care of, I went to Avis in Beaumont and they offered nothing...a phone number to call...after calling. Avis offered nothing, I had pre-paid and didn't even credit me for unused days because my family had to drive me home. Then, charged my credit card 178.00 to fill up gas tank of vehicle left in Biloxi that I rolled in on a flat!! After speaking to several people from Avis....NOTHING!! Stay AWAY from Avis!!! First the charge for a small vehicle rental is entirely too high. It's robbery. Then they charged $250 to hold as a deposit. This was not said to me at all until it was time to swipe my card for $250. When I got into the vehicle it stunk. It smelled like cigarettes and mildew. The car was not full of gas when I received it. And when I returned it was over half full. But they decided to charge me $57 because it wasn't all the way full. The car was tiny and in no way would it even have to be filled up from empty to that amount. I think I filled it up for $30 as a matter of fact. The only reason I used this company is because I had no other choice because my dad is really sick and had to have a heart surgery done. Employee, I belive his name is Tyler, had no sympathy whatsoever and did not offer any kind of compensation. 0/10 do not recommend this company. Renters be ware. I am a Preferred Plus member who works for DuPont. I travel 40+ weeks per year and always rent from our corporate supplier (Avis). I had the occasion to drive to Beaumont Texas on business from Tennessee and rent a car so that my wife could drive our personal car. I made the reservation online for the Beaumont Airport, and found out that the local Avis location was open from 9:45PM-10:00PM on a Sunday night. When I arrived, the agent told me that the office was closed to "Local" renters at 6;00PM, and only customers that flew in were serviced. I stated that I made the reservation on-line on the Avis App, and noted that there were no exclusions noted. He again told me in a "louder voice" that the location was closed to local renters.... and they only took reservations for the incoming flight. I again showed him my reservation, and told him that the corporate website said nothing about the incoming flight limitations. He again stated that they do not rent to local traffic at that hour. After many back and forth discussions, he finally gave me my rental.... This operator was rude and belligerent to a high profile account holder (DuPont), and should be trained to be much more gracious, regardless of the circumstances. I asked him for his managers contact information, and was told the business card was on the counter. This location is apparently an Independent Operator for Avis, and as such can make its own rules. Made my reservation this morning before I got on the flight. No cars when I arrived at my destination. No cars, no help, nothing. Reservations made within 24 hours are pointless unless you personally call the rental location and ensure there is a car available. read more

This is a pitiful excuse of a car rental place. They didn't even do a walk around with me before i left in the car and there werw dings and scratches everywhere..i had to take pics of the damage on my own. They didn't even walk me.out to the car. They told me where to go to look at the cars. I had the car for 12 days. I paid them $487.00. I accidentally left my auxiliary cord in the car and I called almost immediately to see if they found it and they had already rented the car. They didn't even clean it!!! Horrible service!!! Be prepared or make other plans!! They just simply don't care. read more

I was unable to pick up my car because my flights were delayed coming from CA. I booked my car through an online booking agancy as a package with my hotel. When I got to the Avis desk they were closed---of course it was 10:30 . Me and another passenger who had the same problem had to find a cab. $45 to go 9 miles to hotel? And the same amount to go back to Avis in the morning The next day Avis told me they could not refund my money it would have to come from T-------y since it was booked through them. I have called T-----y twice and they state that the manager at Avis is NOT authorizing the refund for one day car rental. I will never use Avis again, I have never had a problem with Enterprise or Budget. Also I will never use T-----y again. I will YELP them too. read more
