We rented a luxury car from this location and when we went to pick it up the car was not available. They tried to give us a small Honda accord. When I questioned the manager how they could do this he just shrugged his shoulders. Horrible customer service. Obviously reserving a car does not make a difference to Avis!!! read more

I scheduled a reservation in the morning, The customer service agent contacted me on 6/22/2023 @ 3:40 pm to say they will be canceling my reservation for tomorrow at 8 am. After I informed her that this has happened over 5 times with my family and this location. She hung up on me, I tried calling back she let the phone ring until you received the voicemail. This location is unorganized and very trashy unprofessional people who work there. I will be telling everyone not call or book this location. read more

If i could put zero stars i would. dealt with this location two days in a row 1st day i canceled my reservation due to them not having my vehicle then tried to give me something smaller plus $250 deposit 2nd encounter(next day) made another reservation go to pick up the vehicle an was told they didn't have any vehicles when plenty were parked outside. If you are looking for a good rental car facility, THIS IS NOT IT! I cannot begin to explain my disappointment with this business and the owners, but I will certainly try in order to hopefully save you the headache and frustration. I scheduled my rental car to be picked up 8:00AM on a Monday and to be returned by 5PM that Thursday. Not even 24 hours prior to my pickup time (and on Mother's Day), one of the owners called and said that my car wouldn't be to the facility until 10:00AM that Monday which would push my 9 hour drive back by 2 hours when I had to be to Kentucky by a specific time. Due to the late call, I was left with little choice other than sticking with this car because I didn't have time to find another vehicle through a different company. I asked how they could remedy the situation or if they could get me another car and the man on the phone said they couldn't do anything at all. When I asked why they would even give the option for an 8:00AM pickup when they can't deliver by that time, the man had no answer and told me I'd have to call corporate to figure out if they could adjust the price due to the inconvenience. He assured me they'd call me as soon as the car came in the following day. On Monday morning around 9:30AM I called to see if maybe the car had come in earlier and the lady told me it "just came in" and she'd clean it so we could pick it up ASAP (frustrating that I had to call them when promised they would be in touch IMMEDIATELY when it came in). When I got there around 9:45AM, there was a fleet driver waiting to be helped, two waiting clients in the lobby, and the owner was outside chatting with someone who looked to be inspecting one of the cars. After waiting for 15 minutes outside she finally acknowledged me and we started on paper work. She told me she needed my credit card so she could place a hold even though I had already prepaid for the vehicle a week prior. She also insisted I needed to be back by 5PM (when they close) and that they couldn't make an exception even though they gave me the rental 2 hours later than our contract agreed upon. After arguing with her for a couple minutes she finally said it would be ok if I dropped the keys in an after hours deposit box (with no late fee incurred) and just gave me the keys without reviewing anything in the car at all. I wanted to get the heck out of there so I was fine with that. I took pictures of the dings on the car and the mess inside prior to leaving the facility. The inside of the car was filthy. Sticky spots and dust everywhere and it smelled like weed. The touch screen calibration was messed up also so I wasn't able to do anything on the screen without it clicking a completely different number/letter/app/etc. The car got me to and from Kentucky and I ended up being able to get back to the rental car facility at about 5:30PM that Thursday, deposited the keys in the after hours box and in order to be considerate tried to call and leave a voicemail but there was no option to do so. Two days later I noticed they charged me a late fee on my card! I had to wait on hold for about 30 minutes with corporate who thankfully refunded the late fee. I should of went to the Avis in the Towson area, My husband called to reserve a vehicle under my name for 2 days. When I arrived the gentleman behind the counter barely looked up at me he was on the computer doing something, I stood there for a second figured he was busy. He never said anything to me. So I spoke up and stated I have a reservation gave my last name, handed him CC and DL, he typed something says all he has is this vehicle it the smallest we have, O.K. then proceeds to charge my card. Prints stuff out grabs keys hands me id's, comes from around the counter goes outside still saying nothing so I suppose I should follow, he jots something on a paper and said he just got the car back didn't have time to wash exterior. I said that's fine. He hands me paperwork and keys and that was it. Sorry so long just leading up to what I've had to deal with. So 2 days later I'm on the way to bring back rental its 10ish. I receive a call had to turn around to p/u daughter. So I called Avis in Fallston no answer I continue to call no answer. So it transfer to their customer service, I speak to a George he brings up account and stated you have a 45 minute to an hour grace period. I said oh ok I'll be there before then. I told George I've been calling and calling the Fallston location and there's no answer can he make a note in my account I don't have the money for another day it will go over the limit on my card. He said of course and assured me I will not be charged. So fast forward i picked up vehicle at 11:15am and with my hour grace period I had till 12:15pm I got there at 12:07 with 8 minutes to spare. I go inside different person. Gave him my key he typed in something pressed a button. Hand me receipt with another day charged to my card. I said wait a minute I called this morning and a guy from customer service said I have an hour grace period. He said well you didn't speak to me and it's 29 minute grace period. I stated there should be a note in my file about this George assured me I would not get charged. Well you didn't speak to me, I pulled my phone out and said I've been trying to call you since a little after 10 but no one answered, he shrugged his shoulders and said there's nothing I can do you have 29 minutes after the due time you'll have to call customer service. So I proceeded to call yet again. I spoke to a Carl or Carlos. Im not going to go too much into detail about this guy. Long story short he wasn't pleasant sounded like a broken record when I asked to speak to a supervisor he stated well they're just going to tell you the same thing I am, and IF and that's an If I can get a manager on the phone they won't do anything for you rules are rules. He continued to try and speak over me and cutting me off while I talking. Finally I speak to a gentleman named Milton. I told him a George, told me 45 minutes to an hours and I'm hearing this 29 minutes , I said bring up the recording when I called and you will hear him stating to me 1hour. He said he unable to bring it up. I state my husband and I have only gone thru Avis if we needed a rental usually they're pleasant to deal with, plus we've never been late so had no idea we had only 29 minutes if I knew about the 29 minutes I would of dropped it an hour earlier, I told him Avis needs to train their employees at store locations better, they explain nothing to you well at least at the Fallston location they didn't. Well Milton assured me I would get the extra charge credited back to my card it would take 2 days and said I would receive an email. I have yet to receive the credit or an email about the credit. It's been 2 days. Not sure if I should wait another day or call customer service Again. I'm not sure what happened to Customer Service these days, it's like these companies are so desperate to get people to work they are failing at proper training and following up on their employees. These location that deal with the public don't just need a body to run the registers, they need genuinely nice people with somewhat of a personality if you are wanting to work in a position called Customer Service Representative key word Customer Service... it really isn't that difficult to treat everyone the way you would want to be treated. This is a small location that rents Avis and Budget. I reserved an Avis vehicle and customer service was not great. I waited 10 min past the opening time of 6:30 am for the agent to arrive and open the place up. Another 5 min for him to settle in and put his lunch away. Another 10 min before I actually got a car. The agent said the mid size car he was going to give me wasn't clean yet so he gave me one that was "ready", a small SUV, but when I got the car it was not clean either. At this point I was already late so I took it. I switched pickup location from a bwi pickup because this location was near my home and was told when I called, that the government rate would be the same as my initial reservation for pickup at bwi. Not the case! The mistake I made was not getting the name of the agent I spoke to initially but I didn't feel I had to as other rental places honor their reservation. When i got the final receipt the rate charged was 50% more than picking up at bwi! I called them but They refused to change it! Highway robbery!! I will never go back! Be ware!! read more
