I had a great experience picking up my car at Avis. The front desk staff were super kind. Even bonded with one of the ladies because we were Virgos and then another guest and her had the same birthday. But service was great, fast and perfect for a local location. The woman who brought me my car was soooooo kind. She was a bit older but she was too nice to me. The car was not clean on the exterior. There was not a carwash that happened so that was a bummer and the gas was at half a tank. All good though. But I did wish the car was washed. They still had the white chalk serial number on the car. This experience could have been highly satisfactory had my interaction with Angela not occurred. Our corporate office recommends Avis as a preferred rental provider, so I selected Avis for this trip. In hindsight, I should have considered one of the other approved vendors. Angela appeared overwhelmed and, based on her performance, seemingly very new to her role. Unfortunately, her demeanor further compounded the situation. She was openly rude to multiple customers, engaging with us as though she had been compelled to work against her will. Her condescending attitude was entirely inappropriate and significantly diminished the overall customer experience. It would be advisable for Avis to consider additional training or coaching for her, as the interaction did not reflect the level of professionalism expected from the company. read more

This is for Budget Truck Rental at the same location. Regardless, my experience was just fine. When I called ahead to confirm my rental, the lady who answered was clearly busy with other customers, but took the time to validate my reservation. Once I arrived, the process was professional and efficient by the gentleman who processed my reservation. Following the walk-around with another gentleman, we were on the road in minutes. This was my first and last time renting from Avis/Budget. The car I received had an inoperable liftgate​ and no wiper fluid. And in the day we departed from our trip, it turned out it also had a slow tire leak. We ended up having to stop to get the tire plugged, and my partner had to buy wiper fluid to clear the warning light. Just when we thought we were good, someone on the highway flagged us down to tell us something was caught under the vehicle. To ensure our family's safety, we decided to exchange the vehicle for another in the state we were passing through at the time. Once there, 5 of the "available" fleet of cars had various warning lights as well. By the time all was said and done, we ended up arriving at our final destination well after dark and missing the first day of our vacation. Dishonest! I left a cashmere neck scarf in a car I returned. I went back a few days later and was told that a scarf that matched mine was found. The front desk agent could not locate it after a brief search. she told me that someone must have thrown it away. Why throw away a well maintained item rather than contact me or, just follow the company's lost and found policy? Corporate "customer service" and the location "management" proved useless and unreliable after more than 6 phone calls and 2 visits to the location. I've been a preferred member for more than 15 years but this doesn't seem to matter. Rent pretty regularly from Avis. I travel for work. This has been by far the worst location I have been to. Tried calling the location repeatedly because I had wipers that fell off and no washer fluid. The vehicle also leaked oil all over the driveway. Never would pick up. Ended up stopping by another Avis for wipers and washer fluid. Tried talking to them about getting my driveway cleaned when I returned the car. Threatened to charge me 450$ for not taking the car through a car wash before bringing it back. Seriously?! Scam alert. Yeah...I strongly urge anyone reading this to pick (literally) any other location. This is a suspicion but I think one of the employees there is racist against white people. Came off strongly that way in 3 separate interactions with her. read more

Worst car rental experience ever! The staff were extremely rude and the service was terrible. We picked up our month-long rental car and on the next day, the oil change light turned on. We went back to resolve the issue. Instead of switching us into a different car, they disabled the oil change warning sign, stating the oil change was just recently done and it's all good. Leaving their office, we had a mechanic check the engine oil - it was filthy. There's no way it was newly changed. We had to go back again as we could not trust that car for our month-long extensive road trip. This time they very reluctantly agreed to switch the car for us. But instead of doing it right away, they claimed they had to charge us over $250 for excessive dirtiness of the carpet unless we vacuum it and bring it back. It was then when we noticed their car did not have carpet cover of any sort. Plus, the carpet was not that dirty at all. Just some sand and dust. I have attached a picture as proof. Obviously they were just trying to make it difficult for us to switch a car. Ok so we had the car vacuumed anyway. Finally they gave us a different car, with a huge crack on the windshield! The picture is attached as well. We asked if it's safe to drive around with that big crack, the staff said "it should be ok since it has been there for a while". However, the crack got so much longer and bigger after only 10 minutes of driving. We were totally shocked that the staff risked the customers' safety without a second thought. Please do not rent from them if possible. It's hard to feel safe driving a car rented from this place. read more

Typical Shady car sales place. They add on charges to sales price without your approval, like "fabric protection" so add $499 to whatever price you see online. They absolutely wont negotiate the listed price. The dont care to earn your business whatsover. Take it or leave it attitude from "salesman". The cars are bare bones stock junk. Might look nice in pics but its been beat to death trust me. Dont fall for the "good price" you see online because you'll be paying far more when you get there with their bait and switch games. Worst costumer service experience! I went in on 1/17/19 at 1:02pm. I waited in line for about 15 min. The guy working didn't acknowledge me or didn't say anything to me. He walked past me a couple of times with out saying anything. After the customer that he was helping left I walked up and he pointed to the guy sitting down "how may I help you" I was like WTF he wasn't in line I was. So he attends him first and I just walked out. My thing is at least let me know what's going on don't just make me feel like %#^*. they are a total fraud, my quote was 21 per day. I rent a car for 16 days, and they charged me 920 dollars in the end. I try to get my money back, they said there is some bull shit policy that in the contract cost 27 dollar extra charges a day.no one told me about the charge, and I try to call them back, they just keep my on hold. So slow. I had called ahead because I was running late for work and asked if they could pull up my info so I could just sign. They said no because they need my card for incidentals ... They hadn't bothered to look that there was already a card on file. But policy is policy so that's fine no big deal. The paperwork process was rather quick... But unlike any other car rental place they drive it around for you rather then you immediately going and getting it once you've signed. I had to wait 20 minutes because the first car had problems as the woman almost gave me one that wasn't cleared after being inspected. The car I finally got had lights in. Check engine and tire pressure. The employee who drive my car out said that the car is fine and those there's an error on the lights. The place was closing soon and I had to get to the other side of Houston. Then throughout my week the car would make weird noises almost stalking out. Called company... They claimed they couldn't bring me a new car, and that my only option was to buy a taxi to IAH (bush intercontinental) and get a new car. read more

My family and I will drive FAR out of our way to avoid this Avis location in the future. We rented a minivan to take on a family road trip. When we picked it up, it was in horrible shape. I can't believe they would hand over a vehicle in that condition. It had a horrible odor, was messy and stained. We should have returned it right there on the spot, but due to our time limitations, took it with us and cleaned it ourselves. We bought air fresheners to try and mask the odor. They also didn't have the proper form to document the mini scratches on the car. When I called to complain, I was told to call back when the manager was there. When we returned the car, they were very unapologetic. We are astounded at the lack of customer service and lack of professionalism. read more

What can I say? Dropped a car off on a Saturday at 4pm. Didn't get checked in until Tuesday. This is disgusting. Handled rudely by Rodney, their front desk agent. He had some car washer do the whole thing while he just was sassy and rude to the car washer for not knowing how to do the system, even though the car washer clearly stated numerous times that he had no interest in doing this and that this was his first time. I get the car after all that horseplay. It reeks of smoke. Just reeks. I inform Rodney and he said "thats fine". Not "I'll fix that up" or any solution to. The car smelt of this THE WHOLE TIME. It sucked. Drop off the car 2 hours late. Damn. of all companies I could have done this to, I believe this particular AVIS is probably the worst to do it to. I used the drop box. Apparently they weren't coming back until Tuesday. So I get charged an extra $335 ($125 of that for pet hair. Thats legit). To make it worse, they have had 0 interest in me as a customer. I called to see if we could work anything out. I spoke with Tonya. She said she was the owner. She was rude. Interrupting. Just no compassion at all. I hope one day everyone at this avis finds a job they actually like, so they don't treat customers with such little heart. This is my story. I rented cars from AVIS once in December and three times in January while my car was in the shop. The agreed rate between AVIS and the auto shop was $30/day. I had the car for 1 day each time. I got charged $30 for the December rental. The January rentals came to $60, $565, and $135. They claimed I had the car a week and returned it 250 miles away. I was supposedly returning a car 250 miles away while I was at work. And they charged me $30 for tolls in that city. I called and explained this didn't happen. They told me they would refund the money within 48 hours. They did not. I called at least 4 times and each time I was told they would refund the money within 48 hours. They finally refunded $290 of the $700 in overcharges. They have been unable to produce paperwork showing where I was the one renting the car for those dates. The auto shop has told me they have received several similar complaints, (AVIS stealing money) and are changing rental agencies. read more
