Our car stunk! Needed a car to get back to the airport, paid in advance. My wife picked the car up on time and it smelt like cigarette smoke and the check engine light was on. Not completely cleaned. I'm thinking this guy (Abdi) was rushed, insisting that it was fine and that the car will be OK. Little to no other interaction. Came to St. Cloud for business. Had a confirmation for a car at 9 a.m. on Saturday. There was no car. I was told it may be 10:30 or 11. In their defense, they did not have my phone number to inform me the prior afternoon, although changing plans that late would not have helped me. If you are extremely flexible, or don't really NEED a vehicle at a certain time, this location may work out for you. This company does not disclose when there in NOT unlimited mileage. You make the on line reservation then they tell you that there is limited mileage. The take your money if you cancel costs you $50 then they sit on your money for 5 to 10 business days. BEWARE!!! Never had a problem with Budget there great. Hope they choke on the fifty! read more

St Cloud Avis on Roosevelt Rd. not only didn't have the vehicle we requested, the one we had to settle on was filthy, full of scratches and dings and after getting it home we noticed it had expired tabs! The customer service wasn't great either. We were set to leave at 4am the next morning and this was totally unacceptable service. This is the only place in Saint Cloud to rent cars that is open on Sundays. We rented cars for a recent trip and the customer service was a great. A few hiccups but we were upgraded and the worker handled our questions and issues diligently. Would rent from this location again. read more

I am from St. Cloud (but live in Boston). I came back to MN for business. Picked up a car at the MSP airport Avis which was a horrible experience. I drove directly to St. Cloud and realized on my drive that there was a crack in the windshield, so I did a whole walk around the car and realized the front and back bumpers were both scratched AND the tabs were expired. Avis customer service advised me to go this local location to exchange the car out. I was frustrated and annoyed because I need to drive all over the state this week (and couldn't do so with expired tabs) - but Jim was patient and helpful (especially at the last minute) and got me squared away with a new car. I appreciated his genuine concern, and top customer service. The only downside is that the car he gave me smells like smoke. BUT still gave 5 stars because I would support his business and refer others to him as well. Thanks Jim for helping me out in a bind! read more

I rented from every company out there and over 90 locations. Randy has turn the St Cloud location around and makes it fun to go and very professional very, accommodating. I am not one to write reviews ever but PLEASE DO NOT RENT ANY CAR THROUGH THIS RENTAL COMPANY. IMPORTANT READ! I've had too many problems to count. The car wasn't cleaned, it had leftover cigarettes in it. The windshield wiper was out of fluid and one of the tires was really low in air so we had to stop and fill it up and get wiper fluid. I signed up to rent the car for about $280. When I went to pick it they told me it would be about $580 because I was under 25. (I'm 24) I told them I would go else where to rent a car then and the employee told me he could do it for about $380 and give me a deal. I agreed and rented the car. After dropping it off, I made the employee aware of the conditions of the car when we got it. He said I could take it to customer service. I got home and looked at the bill and he charged me about $580. I called and asked why I didn't get charged about $380 like he told me I would and he said he couldn't give me a deal if I was going to customer service and there was nothing he could do. I am calling customer service and they are telling me they'll look into it and get back to me later. They also told me my card declined (unusual behavior) so I used another card and they ending up charging both my cards for about $580. I have additional money taken out of my account for someone else's rental car as well. That's what customer service told me. All in all, I was told I would pay $380, there is over $700 worth of money taken out of my account currently for this company. WORST CAR RENTAL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I never make reviews, this was the one exception as you will get charged way more than you are told and wind up with a dirty car and a bunch of issues. read more

SKIP THIS PLACE! I rented a car to get from the airport to St Cloud. Just needed to drop off the car. The owner of this particular place barely took a look at me when I pulled up and immediately accused me of damaging the car. I hadn't damaged it but he was convinced I did and proceeded to tell me I should have demanded a walk around when picking it up. I agree, a walk around should be done when renting a car however the agents at the airport don't do that. My experience there was also terrible, but won't review that here. He eventually finds they recorded damages on a slip that was in the glove box. When you are an independent contractor and claim to have done this for as long, as this guy did, he probably should have checked that first before attacking me. He didn't stop there and proceeding to belittle me and ask if I've ever rented a car before and tell me exactly what I 'should have done.' I can't control what this company does as far as walk arounds or procedures. I walked around it and I took photos but apparently that wasn't enough. My advice is to go somewhere else. Not to many places to choose from in a small town. Only one person working in the business had to wait about an hour to get a car. When my reservations were confirmed the man on the phone was probably the rudest person I had ever spoken to in my life, he told me I couldn't double dip discounts, what its that supposed to mean. Ended up still renting the car since its one of the only places in town. Upon return you have to wash and vacuum the car yourself, quite stressful to do this when traveling, Isn't that what I'm paying for. Hours suck as well, when you have a Saturday evening flight what are you supposed to do hang out in a small town for 6 hours without a car, they close at noon. I had the truly unfortunate displeasure of dealing with Jim today. This individual claims to be a business owner for 30 years and if that is true I honestly can't place how this could be. I don't write reviews online as in most instances they don't warrant it. However, Jim deserves a brutally honest review. He has no concept of what customer service means and disrespectful can not begin to describe how he was acting towards my girlfriend and me. During the 10 minute interaction I had with this Neanderthal he cussed at my girlfriend and I multiple times while saying "why the hell would I care what you think" I kindly reminded him not to speak to women that way. It is clear that he has no regard for the customer or or the customers interest in mind. A call to corparate is definitely warranted. read more

I have never, in my life, seen a business owner swear at customer--let alone use the F-word when speaking to my younger sister. I was traveling from AZ to MN with 2 small children alone. I had a double stroller and a large suitcase and 2 car seats. I thank God for the owner. He not only helped me with a bigger car but helped me pack up my kids. Amazing!!! You could not ask for better service!! The owner is dishonest and rude. He tried to blame me for pre-existing paint peeling, and then told me I'd have to talk to corporate if I didn't want to pay for the "damage." When my total charges were less that the amount I prepaid online, he said he couldn't give me a refund and that, again, I'd have to talk to corporate. When I talked to corporate, they said my refund was already in the system and that I wouldn't be charged for any damages, so the owner is either a complete idiot or a dishonest jerk. read more

Unfortunately, I was met with poor customer service by the owner of this location as I returned a minivan that I rented from a different location (MSP airport). He emerged from the back of his office (no one was at the front counter, which gave me time to read signs in his location such as "no discount and coupons-no double dipping" [written by hand]). He cordially took the keys to the minivan and went out to its parked location, opened the back and made the statement "it looks like you were hauling wood" in response to about 10 twigs that were present in the luggage bin, probably transferred from the bottom of our luggage. He then mumbled a statement, which I couldn't understand. I asked him to repeat his statement, and he announced "I'll charge you $25 to clean this van, or you can go to the Centex (gas station) and vacuum it". I noted that I have never had to clean a rental car prior to returning and that I rent quite frequently (although not from this location-this was my first experience). He came back with "this location is privately owned". I said "I usually use Hertz" and he sharply replied "this isn't Hertz" and he handed me the keys, turned his back, and walked away. I had my rental contract in hand and carefully reviewed it, and there is no mention of cleaning and vacuuming prior to return. In my opinion this man is placing stipulations that are not in line with the Avis corporation, and most importantly he was rude. I would not recommend working with this man for your rental car needs. read more
