There is an Avis store in this nook at the end of the plaza. It's a small store front. I had made a reservation thru Costco months ago- if you do: bring your Costco card or pull it up in the Costco app as they will need it as well as driver license and credit card. This office was empty so no wait, fantastic! The lady who came out to take care of me was very cordial and handed me the keys and contract, she did not walk me to the car, and did not conduct the usual "inspection" nor did she offer to enter my observations that the car was in general very scratched and had some bumps on sides- as well as no floor mats, which I found extremely unusual. Anyway I took pictures and she said that would suffice. I hope so since I am not returning the car to this location. The car drives fine... but it uses a KEY! I have not used an actual key in years! A 41,000 miles Kia-sedan. It seemed to be smooth... I will report when I return what the outcome is for Avis. I gave this store 3 stars because of the no-walk to car and the inability to write down somewhere all my scratch and bump observations ... when you use the credit card insurance, those are the things that you have to note so the car will be received in the same condition as it was received. I feel that being that there was no other customer in line, the attendant could have come out and noted somewhere the state of the car, like they do at all the rental places everywhere. Entered the Avis car rental store today at 1130am and met with the sole employee, Jalen, who was very polite and diligent. I informed him that my last rental was not cleaned prior to my pick up. He assured me that the rental today was clean, which it was although smelled like cigarettes (cant win them all). The paperwork was completed within five minutes which is why I continue to rent vehicles from this Avis location, but they need a better human phone answering system - usually goes auto to customer service. After 40 years as an Avis Car Rental Wizard member, I was so disappointed with my most recent experience that I cut my membership card in pieces and will never rent from them again. I booked a car through Avis' website for a one-way trip from Weston, FL to Jacksonville, FL and received a quote for an estimated total cost of $125.02. When I dropped off the vehicle at the Jacksonville airport, I was charged $480.31, including $348.48 for mileage (352 mi. at $0.99). This came as a total surprise to me as every car I've ever rented from Avis and its competitors have always included unlimited mileage. I was not informed by the Avis agent when I picked up the vehicle that mileage would be separate, otherwise, I would have booked with another company. I contacted Avis' Customer Service a couple of times, as well as their escalation desk to request that they honor the original quote and their response was less than satisfactory. DON'T RENT OR RETURN AT THIS LOCATION. I had rented a vehicle one-way from Daytona Beach to Weston and this was my drop off. When I got there the gentleman, did not give me a receipt when asked and simply said "It's pre-paid, you're fine just leave." I was charged over $40 dollars in wrongly charged fees and things that I had already paid for with pre-pay!! I was charged: - $10.00 for gas (The car had a full tank when returned) - $15.00 for a late fee (The car was returned on time, they simply entered it 30 min AFTER I returned it) - Charged me twice for underage driver (Already paid for this under pre-paid) A DISHONEST AND DISGRACEFUL representation of Avis rent-a-car! I called Avis and their customer service refunded me for all these dishonest charges and opened up a case with Corporate. I will only return and rent from Airports from now on. Awful place!! No one is ever there on time, the cars aren't clean because they don't have a person hired to & the big guy must think he's too good to. Without any notice, they cancel cars you reserve if it's too close to the end of the day. Arrived to pick up car, was given a Ford Fusion that had damage. No other cars to choose from. Agent checking me was an idiot. Had already prepaid online and had all of my data, yet still wanted to gather my information. To top it off was hit with a eToll Convenience Fee : $11.85 of using the Sunpass. Ouch... DON'T RENT from Avis in Weston 2207 North Commerce Parkway!!!! I reserved a Minivan for about $600 for a pick up Friday and return Sunday/ Monday. Called Friday morning, before driving over to pick it up, to make sure they did have the minivan. I used the local branch's phone number and was transferred to a corporate number, when they did not answer twice. The Avis rep told me she checked and was sure a mini van was waiting for me. I got there on time to pick it up and they have not had a minivan for a very long time!!!! No phone call to the customer and lies when I called them to confirm. They tried to get me to take a mid sized SUV with dirty cloth seats and it smelled horrible. The would give me a $15 discount for the total bill. They said it was the only car they had. This is a AVIS/Budget place. Unfortunately am not allowed give "0" stars. This place should be avoided at all cost. Staff is highly uneducated and have no clue what customer service is. I made a reservation a week before my rental day, I went to the rental place 3 days before the rental day, just to confirm that the 7 seater transportation I requested is on track. In the rental car day, I am at the rental car facility as they open, when it's my turn, a person with poor Linguistic skills, tells me that they don't have a 7 seat transportation. WTF!!! The manager of the place is not available, this place is a total mess, I wish I could use more profanities to describe this place. Lastly, I am glad to hear, that I was not the only one with trouble, one potential customer left, one customer had a lengthy discussion with the service the person, she had no clue what the customer was saying all he wanted to pay his rental car, since he was in a hurry, he wanted to pickup the car is 1 hrs, since it's not been cleaned. The employee picks up the car -- I am not present. My husband reserved a car and came to pick it up and there was a sign on the door saying the only employee working here would be back in 15 minutes. 30-45 minutes later she finally showed up only to take an hour to process the first reservation. The whole process took about 2 hours to pick up a car that had been reserved in advance. This place is poorly run with extremely poor service. This relates to the Budget car rental ( same location) My mother rented a car here to go to North Florida upon driving at night she realize that the car had no headlights so when her and my father returned the car they told the person at the front desk that there was no headlights on the car and you know they didn't tell them this one they got the car so my mom just tried to report the problem the guy then acted like he already knew and just didn't tell my mom and that's totally absurd how are you gonna Rent a Car to someone knowing the headlights don't work ?? and then the brights wouldn't even stay on so my mom had to hold the lights on while driving home . Javier is a shister. He added insurance to our rental without eleven discussing it, and told my wife to "initial by the x" whtn she picked up the car. This resulted in A 30-40% increase to our cost. Deception and trickery. The car was also given to her with NO FUEL, and he marked the agreement as "return full". This caused a long delay whtn she returned it another city whrn the agrntvrheir wanted to charge her for a full tank at over $9 per gallon. Steer clear - terrible experience read more

This relates to Budget (same location). Booked a reservation and was told that this location would pickup me from a spot in Weston & drop me off after the reservation. The reservationist said to call 1 day in advance to remind them of the pickup. I did, and was told that they don't pickup people, I would have to pay for a Taxi to bring me there. What's the point of making a reservation and being promised that someone would pickup me, and then be told a day in advance that it won't happen. This is the first part of the review - I will add more after I get the car, and subsequently return it. Stay tuned! Part 2 - Was told to come a little later to avoid all the customers who also booked at the same time. Arrived a little after 8:30, and there wasn't a crowd as informed. Guess everyone else slept in. They're a small venue, so the "pickup/dropoff" service isn't available (don't believe what the reservationists on the phone tell you). Checked in & had my car within 15-20 minutes. She was super busy on a Friday afternoon, but you would never have guessed it by the way she handled things and dealt with each customer that came through the door. Super friendly, great smile, and answered any questions. Worked off of 2 computer terminals going back and forth and answered calls at the same time. She's great at multitasking.
