I had reserved an economy vehicle the night before. When dropped off, I noticed how scant the selection of vehicles was in their lot. I thought perhaps they kept more nearby. The location is set to open at 7:30 and sure enough, the MOD unlocked their doors for me. I waited just a couple of minutes for setup. The service by Curdi was great! She's professional and knowledgeable, but also patient. I overheard her talking with other customers and witnessed the one-on-one with an elderly customer. With that, there was no economy vehicle available and they wanted to charge me more to upgrade for a larger model. But the kicker was the $500 deposit they required on my card and that I needed to pay the total rental for three days upfront. In addition, they have no WiFi so I had to step out to use my phone and walk to the bakery to use their internet so I could get some work done as I waited for my ride. Definitely room for improvement!

When I called and asked where they were, at almost an hour late already, I was told the guard at the gatehouse to my community would not let them in. I was on the other line with the gatehouse and absolutely no one was there so the lady who is the manager just made up a lie. I will never go back there. When I called back 15 minutes later she was just dismissive of my problems. I canceled and will tell all the people I've referred there in the past not to ever go back either. Why did they have to make up a lie. They advertise that they are the company that picks you up but that is another lie. They only offer that service on some days, never on weekends. False advertising!!

It's a small store front…read more I had made a reservation thru Costco months ago- if you do: bring your Costco card or pull it up in the Costco app as they will need it as well as driver license and credit card. This office was empty so no wait, fantastic! The lady who came out to take care of me was very cordial and handed me the keys and contract, she did not walk me to the car, and did not conduct the usual "inspection" nor did she offer to enter my observations that the car was in general very scratched and had some bumps on sides- as well as no floor mats, which I found extremely unusual. Anyway I took pictures and she said that would suffice. I hope so since I am not returning the car to this location. The car drives fine... but it uses a KEY! I have not used an actual key in years! A 41,000 miles Kia-sedan. It seemed to be smooth... I will report when I return what the outcome is for Avis. I gave this store 3 stars because of the no-walk to car and the inability to write down somewhere all my scratch and bump observations ... when you use the credit card insurance, those are the things that you have to note so the car will be received in the same condition as it was received. I feel that being that there was no other customer in line, the attendant could have come out and noted somewhere the state of the car, like they do at all the rental places everywhere. I informed him that my last rental was not cleaned prior to my pick up. He assured me that the rental today was clean, which it was although smelled like cigarettes (cant win them all). The paperwork was completed within five minutes which is why I continue to rent vehicles from this Avis location, but they need a better human phone answering system - usually goes auto to customer service. This was not our first experience with this enterprise location, we had to do a rental for my MIL 2 separate occasions while her car was being repaired. Kam was the agent that we worked with all 3 times and he was AMAZING. He remembers peoples names and treats all the customers with respect. The topper was when I went to pick up our rental, he asked how my 80yr old MIL was. I told him she had fallen and he was genuinely concerned. When we returned the car, 10 days later, he reminded me to let her know he was thinking about her. True customer service. The location parking lot is a bit crazy now that the rental is in the front instead of in the back od the lot, but that truly was my only negative.

Terrible Service and Zero Accountability…read more I had an extremely frustrating experience with this rental location. I prepaid for a reservation with a pick-up time at noon. When I arrived just a few minutes after 12, the store was already closed -- no notice, no courtesy call, nothing. Before arriving, I'd checked the app and saw that a specific car had already been assigned to me. When I got there, I found the car in the open Publix parking lot -- completely unlocked, but with no keys or paperwork inside. I tried calling Hertz's main customer service and was stuck on hold for nearly 45 minutes before I finally got someone on the line. They told me to head to the Fort Lauderdale Airport branch, saying they'd help me get a car there. But when I got there, I was told my rental contract had been opened and closed within minutes -- as if I'd taken and returned the car when I never even had the keys! I never agreed to that and was given no explanation. I ended up walking over to Avis and got a car the same day with zero hassle -- the way it should be. I tried to resolve things directly with the original branch, but the employee I spoke to was rude and dismissive, just repeating that the "contract is void" and they "can't see anything." No transparency, no accountability, and not even basic courtesy. It's disappointing that instead of helping to fix the situation, they made it worse. I'll think twice before using this location again and I'd recommend others do the same.
