My car was definitely used and it wasn't the newest model of anything but you know what? It worked just fine.

Unfortunately, the car rental center is not inside the main terminal, so you do have to take a shuttle to the rental car area, which is about a 10-minute ride. When we landed, there was a long line, and it took us about 10-15 minutes to make the queue for the shuttle. Once we got to the rental car center, customer service was great. We had already checked in online and had our own insurance, so the process was pretty smooth. The customer service rep was really nice and even cracked some funny jokes. A few minutes later, we were in our car a white Mustang convertible in great shape and very clean. The only thing I wish they had done was give us a quick demo on how to close and lock the top, because we couldn't figure it out at first and had to watch a YouTube tutorial. Returning the vehicle was a breeze, and I got an email receipt within minutes. Overall, a smooth rental experience and a good choice for our San Diego trip!

Instead of line up at the counter , you can do self check at the machine. There is a car cable and adapter machine for phones in case you need one . They provide wheelchair service all the way from the airline gate to, to the shuttle bus statin and then when you get off the bus, they will continue to have a pusher to bring you to Alamo counter ! All seamless and one flow line service! The rental center is a few blocks away from the airport. Everyone will need to walk a very long walk to shuttle bus station. That will bring yo to the renal cars buildings . Their cars are new and we have the choice of one Nissan and one Corolla. We picked the Nissan because it has only 3000 miles . The return of car is easy and smooth . Highly recommended for such a great experience.

We had a 7 foot tall passenger so there is only one kind of car that he fits in, and they then gave that car away, then gave the only other car to the person behind us in line!! why? Because they sent us out to the parking lot to look at it to make sure that it would fit a 7 foot tall passenger, and while we were in the parking lot, checking it out, they rented it to the next person in line. So we ended up with a third car, which was not what we had reserved and did not fit our needs. So the entire experience was not one we wish to repeat again. They would not give me a car at the same level I paid for, rather they told me to take it up with corporate. I had to pay EXTRA to get a gas car that was not on the same level I paid for initial. Being someone who has rented from Budget multiple times, it disappoints me that they failed to accommodate a loyal customer who has used their service many times. For future reference, be sure to call them to make sure they have the car you reserve to prevent this situation from happening.

So here I am to tell you my good experience to save you a little stress. I flew in on a Monday night. There is a free shuttle that takes you to all the rental cars. I travelled in my wheelchair (but I also have a prosthetic leg) and it was all accessible. Rolled right up to the counter and the original car was not available, but there was one a size up and they charged me the same price. Nice, newer Chevy Blazer and didn't have any damage. They also asked if I need hand controls, which I don't, but awesome that they have that option! Just be warned that once you get your vehicle, there is a pretty big line to get out of the garage. Have your drivers license and rental agreement ready and the process was quick once you got to the front booth. It took us about 30 minutes from showing up to the store to get on the road. Drop off was super easy as well and of course, there is also a shuttle to take you back to the airport.

As an Executive Elite member, this was extremely disappointing, especially during the holidays. I was placed in a sedan and told it was an upgrade, which it was not, and it did not meet the needs or vehicle class I reserved. That said, I do want to acknowledge that the manager reached out the following day, without me having sent a complaint email, to apologize for the error and the inconvenience caused by not having the vehicle available. I appreciated the proactive follow-up and accountability. While the initial experience fell short of expectations, the manager's outreach did help restore some confidence. I hope this feedback helps prevent similar situations in the future, especially for loyalty members with confirmed reservations.
