I rented there twice when I was in San Diego for work. I was told that they do not accept Credit Card car insurance and that I have to give my personal car insurance or purchase the insurance through them. I opted both times to purchase through them. I called my credit card company to inquire if this was a new thing that rental companies were doing, as it is a big perk of having a high annual fee card. They said they have never heard this, especially from a brand as large nationwide as Enterprise. I then contacted Enterprise corporate to let them know. It took messaging corporate twice to hear from this location, the manager left a voicemail, I returned the call a day or so later, the employee said her manager was out but he could call in 30 or so minutes and never received a phone call. Moral of this story - definitely contact your credit card company prior to see how they plan to handle this, as I feel like I got a bit swindled (the insurance directly through Enterprise is not cheap - I could've paid $20 for the whole rental period or their $25 plus a day through them, which I figured I had to). read more

This has been a big headache and complete inconvenience. I had a reservation at 830AM at the body shop to drop off my truck and at 4:55PM the day before my appointment, Enterprise calls to tell me the truck they had reserved for me had mechanical issues and was not going to be available but they would try to find me another one ASAP. This caused me to miss the appointment to drop my vehicle off at the body shop for repairs at the scheduled appointment time. I drove by a different location after work and there was a truck sitting in the parking lot ready to rent. It was after hours, or I would have stopped in. That said, it seems like its too much to ask for these employees to search other locations for available vehicles. Operating only on the inventory available at this tiny location has caused me significant inconvenience and delays in getting my truck in for repairs. My insurance company and I have rented vehicles here far too many times for this. I think I need to look into one of the many other car rental companies in San Diego from now on. read more

I rented two cars from here and was pretty happy. I reserved online and everything was seamless the first time I picked up my car. It was ready a few minutes after I arrived and they did a quick check over it before handing over he keys. After showing my Driver's License and a swipe of the credit card, I was ready to go! Later that day, I returned the car and it was a very easy process. After returning the car, we decided we wanted a car for another day, so I went back online to reserve another car. We tried to rent the same car, but it wasn't available, so we reserved something comparable to pick up the next morning. I woke up really early the next morning to arrive right when they opened, so I could pick up everyone for the day. Unfortunately, moments before I arrived I got a call saying that they didn't have a car available for me. Apparently, whoever had the car decided not to return, so they didn't have anything that could fit all of us. They called around to other locations and about two hours later I was able to pick up a car and take everyone out for the day. When I went back later that day to return it, there was a bit of a wait since they were a little busy, but I was on my way without too much of a delay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The online reservation process is super easy, but it was disappointing that they didn't have any backups for when someone didn't return a car in time. I would definitely return to Enterprise next time I need a rental car. I didn't take advantage of the drop off/ pick up, but it's a great benefit and convenience that they offer to their customers. read more

I've rented a couple of times here and haven't been disappointed yet. They're across the street from Sail Ho golf at Liberty Station and next door to The Hole. The last time I rented a car here, I left my sunglasses behind after returning the rental and realized only after getting back home. Oops. I called the branch and the rep said that they remember seeing the sunglasses but the rental was moved to another location. Le sigh. As reflected in prior reviews here on Yelp, I am generally a big fan of Enterprise. Typically, they are professional and fantastic at check in. However, something was woefully amiss when we tried to get our car here in San Diego. There were multiple self serve kiosks but for some reason none of them worked and they did not have any signs on them indicating so. There was only ONE person behind the counter and the line was 8 people deep. This is inadequate on an average day. Why am I mentioning this? Because we were in town for Comic Con and it was 3:00 pm on Wednesday. Enterprise should have added more people. The line moved glacially. It took us more than 1/2 hour to get our car. Eventually, we got to the front of the line and the person assisted us. She was terse but understandable so because of the mass of people that she had to help. Once we got to the parking lot, there were several cars from which we could choose. The person there was quick and thorough, ensuring that there were no scratches on the car and giving us directions to our hotel. Return was also easy. read more

The car I rented was great. I was very happy with it. This location has a long way to go when it comes to customer service. I called in the morning to make sure a ride would be available from my body shop to their location. I was asked to call again 1 hour before I needed the ride, so I did. Make sure you check with them to make sure a shuttle is available when needed. Check with your insurance carrier to see if they already cover you when in a rental, sometimes they do or your credit card company offers coverage. I hit a few snags during the rental process, but Enterprise Corp and their local office reached out very quickly to try and make things right which I definitely appreciated. I had a much better experience when I returned my rental. The friendly lady processed my return and got me a ride back to the body shop quickly so I could get my car before the body shop closed. Just make sure you check the paperwork before signing, and I always encourage a quick walk around to note damage before you sign. read more

After speaking with Elizabeth, I was confused. I was told by the Branch Manager (Elizabeth) that my insurance company, USAA covered the rental car in case of an accident. That's weird since I declined the enterprise insurance and wasn't offered anything called loss of use or other options. She actually said "It sounded like you didn't want it, so we didn't explain what you turned down and then you left. This is sad since it was probably a 60-90 second conversation that would've covered it all. I'm only upset because she didn't say anything about what's not covered. For example: loss of use. This is where the rental car company can't rent the car since you get hit by some kid texting and driving and Enterprise charges you for the week or two it's in the shop being repaired. So, you could be out $30-$60 bucks a day times 14 days. $420-$840 or more. Plus, your deductible which is NORMAL according to Elizabeth. I only found out after talking with USAA for 10 minutes, which is my insurance company & also after speaking with State Farm for 10 minutes, which is the insurance company for the guy that hit my car and made me get a rental car. Neither companies will cover me for Loss of Use. Lessons learned: don't let Enterprise act too busy to help explain in detail what their insurance covers that your insurance doesn't cover and / or talk you out of their insurance which is a lot less up front than the $1000-$2000 you'll pay if you get in even a tiny accident. It seems over the top now that i wrote it out, but I would be happy to talk about this in person if she didn't tell me it wasn't necessary or make it seem unimportant. Not cool for customer service folks to act this way. She said I can add it again at any Enterprise location to not have to drive 15 minutes across town to her specific location, which means someone else closer to my house has to do her job now. Local person been renting for about 3 weeks while we look for a new car and we Get a car that is off gassing so badly my wife is physically ill, intense headaches and nausea, ten minutes out of car and she is fine. So we call them to get a replacement and the desk person (Melissa) states she can't help me and HANGS UP on me ? Had to call another location where she (Lindsay) states she will email/inform that locations manager and he will call me back right away - that was 40 minutes ago. They NOW close in 20 minutes.....PLEASE go elsewhere if you want good service. This place is unprofessional and rude. I will be calling their home office about this - I have given them 2 hours to mare good on this . They deserve NO stars !~ read more

What Amazing service! My car was in an accident so Geico set me up with a rental car via Enterprise. From my original call Kyle was helpful friendly and informative. When I went to picked up the rental car Collin helped me and he went out of his way to make sure I was in a vehicle that was perfect for me. They also provide pick up and drop off service. Renting a car, let alone especially from this Enterprise, was a mistake, and the staff here is shady and questionable. Having left some personal property in the glove box, we immediately went back to check and the vehicle was already rented out. Kyle (employee) mentioned the driver found it and would return it... however 2 days later, and the story changed to them having thrown it away (after agreeing to return it) and not bothering to tell me. Policy clearly states they aren't responsible, so then why lie, why go through all of that, unless he took the property for himself? I've called corporate twice since, and only get "sorry" or "we will send a claim to the regional office." read more

My car pooped out....I nearly had a panic attack at the car dealership....ready to sign my life away for another 5 year dreadful deal....then it hit me...5 years of flushing my money down the toilet for something that will only depreciate by the minute or fix my beater... I'm not a cheapo by any means but I do value having the extra coin saved up for a rainy day or for a new hot purse I must must must have. So, yes, I left the dealership then went to buy myself not one but three new purses at the closest Kate Spade...I've been all about her as of late....Anyhoo, I digress.... Danielle is great. Nice and even hooked me up with my corporate rate which saved be a pretty penny. Love that they pick u up...This location tends to be a bit slower than their other locations which is great if you want to get in and out. I really can't complain yet.....Returning the car was a breeze. I would absolutely use this location again if I'm looking to rent another car. read more

I do not know what happened with my initial Yelp on this Enterprise but is was 5 YELP STARS because I love this location! It does tend to be a slower one but that is good because you can get in and out of there pretty quickly. The employees are friendly and capable although it can be pretty tight to park in their small parking lot when it is busy. Used to be I could leave my car on their premises when I rented one to go off some where but that ain't in the cards anymore. Still, Enterprise is my go-to rental place and I can recommend this one, with a caveat. There was an employee here who was cool but goofed up my reservation a couple of times. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I advise you not to go to this location unless you want to be scammed of hidden fees and lied to. 1. I've been a loyal customer of Enterprise since 2011 and I will not settle for this kind of service. Not only I was lied to about my deposit by their local agent , they're so unethical where they will tell you you're not charged for "something" but you are! 2. Before I left their parking lot, my friend and I went back inside because I want to clear up some questions. We pointed specifically at the charges on the right side and asked "are we being charged for any of these fees here?" Tom said "No, they're just there. You're not being charged for them. You opted out of these fees." My friend rephrase the question and asked again because we really want to make sure before we come back and pay for something we didn't agree on. Friday, I called to extended my rental for another day. I spoke to George at this branch and he was so rude, he even yelled on the phone and had a bad attitude. He admitted that George was "probably confused" when he answered us but he will not adjust the rates or any fees. This is ridiculous! I told him how unethical they are by lying to their customers. So now I'm charged an additional $10 a day for my rental. Instead of $95 , I'm paying for $170. Definitely reporting this to Better Business Bureau and writing a formal letter to Enterprise. read more

If not for the nice lady who assisted me, this would have been a one star. Showed up to pick up my car, was quickly greeted by a nice young lady very knowledgeable and made the process swift which i appreciated. I had made my reservation about a month in advance, wanted a "full size car".......when I got there i had my choice of a economy car or a SUV. I didn't want either as i had to drive to visit people (400 miles each way) and didn't want to be in a little soap box nor a gas guzzling SUV. Seeing the small economy car would not hold my luggage nor grandkids, i opted for the SUV. I found out soon that the SUV pulled to the right. I also found out soon it smelt like smoke and was not very clean.........................today, my shoulder is sore from having to fight to keep it on the road for 800+ miles, my lungs are polluted and my wallet is empty from the gas it took. If they didn't have what i reserved, wasn't i worthy of a phone call? Again, if not for the nice young lady, this would have been a one star. read more
