We also don’t assume that talking alone is always enough. Some people benefit from insight. Others need help regulating their nervous system. Many need both. So alongside evidence-based psychotherapy, we integrate mind–body approaches like biofeedback, breathwork, and other holistic supports - so progress doesn’t just make sense intellectually, but is actually felt. We work with adults, teens, and children navigating anxiety, stress, relationships, and life transitions, as well as neurodivergent clients who benefit from more tailored, flexible support. In a field that often prioritizes scale, we’ve chosen to prioritize experience. It’s a small difference in structure - but for many people, it changes everything.

History

Established in 2016.

Our story started with a wish to create a community based, a boutique style group practice that would integrate multiple modalities and experts in collaboration to help clients get relief from their overwhelming symptoms of anxiety and sadness, learn better coping skills and gain deeper insights into their difficulties, and connect with others for emotional bonding, and support. This vision is the beginning of Avita iCare, a unique practice that strives to combine the personal feel of a boutique practice with the breadth of an integrative wellness center, all under a clear, science-meets-holistic philosophy of mind-body coherence.

Meet the Business Owner: Dr. Kalman K.

Dr. Kalman Khodik, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience across diverse clinical settings. He earned his doctorate from Widener University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Karen Horney Clinic. He is the Founder, Owner, and Clinical Supervisor of Avita Integrative Care in Teaneck and Avita Psychological Care in New York, where he leads multidisciplinary teams and oversees clinical quality. Dr. Khodik combines clinical expertise with prior work at global institutions such as McKinsey & Company, World Bank, and Credit Suisse. His work reflects strong multicultural awareness, fluency in English and Russian, and sensitivity to clients’ spiritual frameworks. He integrates psychodynamic, CBT, and mind-body approaches to deliver personalized, holistic care.
