A second marriage for both us, we engaged Laura, prior to our wedding not due to any acute crisis but to become more mindful of our own histories and how these might impact the relationship. One of the many insights gained working with Laura over the years is that each partner is responsible for 100% of their 50% of the relationship (LOVE that!!). We were also familiar with the book, Getting the Love Your Want by Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt, best known for co-creating Imago Relationship Therapy. Laura is a certified practitioner of Imago, blending it with her unique style of facilitation. Imago offers many relationship building blocks, such as mirroring and sharing appreciations that fundamentally changed how we communicate. In many ways, Laura is like a relationship coach, holding us accountable for our respective 100% that we each bring to the relationship. Our marriage continues to thrive and benefit from our time and investment with Laura!

She creates a safe space in which we can share our most challenging feelings, anxieties, hopes and joys. She engages with curiosity, humor and empathy. I trust her and value her insight and support enormously. I am very grateful to have found her and would recommend her to anyone seeking to explore couples counseling or premarital therapy with the goal of building a stronger, more satisfying and loving union.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Adler for almost 2 years, and eventually began using her…read moreneurofeedback treatments as a patient myself! I had an EEG done that revealed anxiety (as expected), which was really valuable to me in terms of confirming my own thoughts/experiences, but also giving me concrete data to work with and develop a plan. I started using Nexalin as often as I could and occasionally did Zengar as well. I gradually began to feel less stressed over classes, and felt I had a calmer, more present mentality in general. I stopped getting so anxious over exams and other more minuscule things that would normally cause me overactive anxiety. Obviously, these are things that require lifelong improvement and attention, but I felt noticeable changes much quicker than expected, and believe that with formal treatment guided by Dr. Adler, many would benefit. Everyone in the office is incredibly warm, genuine, and welcoming. Clients are approached with the same friendliness you'd experience with a family member or an old friend. This becomes very obvious when you see how the clients interact with staff and how they express their gratitude. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for therapy, especially if you are curious about neurofeedback! (PS. Follow @parkavepsychotherapy on social media!)
