Went there for brunch and loved this place. It has that blushing rose style, cute and elegant interior. There's also a cute backyard with heaters behind. I seldom apprise services but theirs was just outstanding. The owner walked around greeting customers, even went outside to introduce menus. He was so friendly that when I asked if there was spinach in the baba ganoush that made it look green, he walked me through the entire cooking process. Even the chef in the open kitchen said bye on our way out. The menu features Mediterranean cuisine. The Baba Ganoush I had was fabulous, refreshing and rich, couldn't stop eating. The Omelette was yum too, light and fluffy, with cheddar and bacons on top. I recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for dinning spot in St. Clair West. I have wanted to try the ribeye steak sandwich for awhile - I like anything with chimichurri. They said they would only cook the steak medium or medium well. This was a bit surprising to me because I regularly eat ribeye medium rare. Oh well, I ordered medium and figured it would be fine. It was definitely well done, and burnt in places. The meat was incredibly tough. I have a hard time believing it was even a ribeye. If it was, there is really no point in using that delicious, marbled cut of steak if you're going to cook it that much. You may as well use a cheaper cut, like a sirloin. That being said, there's a lot of stuff on the menu to try. In fact, my partner got the burger and I had a bite; it was really good. When I come back, I will definitely be ordering that. It was so juicy and flavourful. The fried were also really good, as was the garlic aioli. Although the staff was very friendly, the service was not very attentive. They didn't stagger the orders very well because an hour is a long time to wait without food while we watched other people get their appetizers and their mains. No one even checked on us or apologied for the delay until we got our food. The decor is really pretty. It's very fresh and modern. I also love that they can open the front windows on warm spring/summer evenings. read more

One of the best brunch spots in the city. Lots of space, front and back patios, delicious Mediterranean style food with a focus on brunch. The staff are charming and attentive and no matter how busy it gets they make you feel like a priority. We've ordered dinner takeout from Aviv twice now, and on both times it's been excellent. One word of caution: the portions are on the small size. If you're the kind who values quantity over quality, then you might be disappointed. Having said that, the food is delicious. As an added bonus, Aviv offers free deliveries for orders over $60, and $5 delivery fee for orders below $60. Online ordering is quick and simple, and the food arrives via "ritual" in under an hour, with easy tracking and text updates. The style of the food is modern Israeli. So, you can expect Middle Eastern flavours combined with fusion flavours from Iran to India. So here is the breakdown of the food: Red Lentil Soup - $10 Taste: 5/5 Value: 3/5 Not a large portion, but very delicious soup with some nice Indian flavours and a bit of a kick from peppercorn. Marinated Chicken Kebob - $25 Taste: 5/5 Value: 2/5 Very tasty succulent chicken morsels, over beautiful Safran rice (with dried fruits) and a dallop of creamy sauce. Delicious but on the small side. Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon Fillet - $28 Taste: 4/5 Value: 3/5 The fish was very much overcooked. But it tasted nicely and had a nice crispy skin. It was served over a skimpy portion of quinoa with some very tasty roast vegetables. Apple Smoked Beef Brisket - $33 Taste: 5/5 Value: 4/5 What an excellent dish! The brisket is delicious, served on very creamy mashed potatoes, with some roast root vegetables and a beautiful slightly sweet jus. Aviv Beef Burger - $21 Taste: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Excellent burger! The patty is nice, the cheese is beautiful, the sautéed onions are sweet and delicious and the bun is fantastic! Three Latkes - $9 Taste: 3/5 Value: 2/5 Skippable. House Cut Russet Potato Fries - $7 Taste: 4/5 Value: 3/5 Very nice fries! They are freshly cut, beautiful russet potatoes and are nicely crisped. Kids' Chicken Tenders with Fries - $15 Taste: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Very nice REAL chicken tenders. Fried to a nice crisp, but overly cooked. Nice portion of fries. I have nothing but PRAISE for this restaurant and their staff. They were all so hospitable and welcoming. This was my first time organizing a group more than 20 for lunch and I had called a week or so ahead to make a reservation with Robert (one of the owners I believe). He was so friendly and helpful, giving suggestions on how the restaurant can help out in providing what we wanted. They located us at their back patio where the staff were so patient with our group whether it was ordering, waiting on us, and bringing our orders. The restaurant itself is also gorgeously pink and their back patio is an adorable space for any outdoor gathering. It was all very cozy and intimate with space for more. I think it could hold up to 30 people before it would start feeling cramped. The food itself looked and tasted amazing, especially since it was a running Benny when I cut it. Aviv is definitely a hidden gem in Toronto and more people should visit and try it out! They also currently have Summerlicious until the 28th of August so if you want to try, the time is now when they have 3-course meals at prix fixe. It's an upscale restaurant with excellent service. The hosts were very friendly and most of their patrons were regulars. For the food I ordered Chicken kebab plate and wife ordered the Vegetable tagine. I didn't like my dish at all; however wife really enjoyed hers. Chicken kebab plate comes with two skewers on chicken, with with rice on the side with raisins and dried apricots, some bread and tzatziki sauce. Chicken was extremely bland and devoid of any flavour. However, the rice and bread were good. They had colouring books and pens to keep little ones busy. read more

Ordered online from the restaurant's website. Paid. The order kept hanging and not going through, so I called the resto. Admittedly the place was busy, but when I asked the guy on the phone why my order wasn't going through, he said, brusquely, they were busy and couldn't take any orders that night. I told him I'd already paid and by now it looked online as if the order had been accepted, but he said they couldn't accept my order. He was on the verge of hanging up when he saw that the order had indeed gone through. End of conversation. We ordered chicken shishkabobs which were tasty enough but dry and tough, although rice was excellent. A lacklustre Caesar salad helped moisten the chicken, which we cut up into it. We like to support our local restaurants, but I'm not sure that we'd order from them again. Too bad. read more

This place is a hidden gem - food was great, cute decor, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I've eaten brunch/lunch here three times now with different groups and each time was superb (I've tried two types of eggs benedict and a vegetarian wrap). Menu looks like a fusion of a few different cuisines. They opened right around the time Covid started so I suspect they have nowhere near the kind of profile in the neighborhood they will have once things reopen again and they get regular traffic. Two years after my first review of this restaurant and my opinions have not changed in the slightest. They have done a fantastic job in creating a beautiful space to eat, and the customer service has never been anything other than excellent. The food has always been incredible, and continues to be that way. Odds are what you're eating is incredibly fresh, and anything that could be baked in-house, is. While the food is great, the owners show no care or concern for their neighbours. They built a back patio directly underneath and beside numerous residences and the noise that comes from diners is, at times, overwhelming - can even be heard in our home with all of our windows and doors closed. We asked the owners to consider signs asking patrons to be considerate of their neighbours. They didn't even bother to respond. Hoping others will read this and consider the people under and behind them when they dine on the patio (which was built without a permit, and without any consultation with surrounding neighbours). Food was great. Superb service. One meal was too spicy and they immediately and courteously, and without asking, replaced the meal.

Imagine my surprise when a family member gave us a huge gift by freeing us up from our children for an hour. We came to the neighborhood restaurant Aviv expecting a nice brunch but we got so much more. Maria from the first minute make sure everything was amazing she moved us to a table that she liked better, helped us with our order checks in on us repeatedly and then when we are finished eating she suggested what we should have for dessert. It felt like going out to eat in a time when the relationship is personal and not transactional. We would absolutely come here again. Wow the breads here - buns, flatbreads, all of them - are great. That toasted chicken sandwich was double the size I expected for lunch and the pork belly just made it even more substantial. The chicken salad was meal-worthy, unlike most lunch salads. Service was swift, friendly, and accommodating - we appreciated the hot lemon tea on a ver chilly day. I was walking by the area in search of a snack and I had heard so many great things about Aviv from the local Facebook page that I decided to check it out - and WOW I'm glad I did. It was a beautiful summer day and the place and decor were so chic and memorable (we are still in lockdown so not allowed to sit but hopefully soon!) Robert greeted me with the greatest smiling eyes and as my order was getting made (hummus, homemade flatbread and cut veggies for my gluten-free partner) we chatted about the restaurant and its beginnings right before the pandemic. Then I met Maria who was equally warm; beautiful partnership. I got home and shared the hummus with my family and we all agreed it was the best hummus we have tried in Toronto: fresh, flavourful, rich. The flatbread was warm and fluffy and a perfect pair. We also really appreciated the crisp and fresh veggies. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu and check out the patio! read more
