My brother and I recently did a trip to Maine. Hiked in Acadia like so many tourists do, spent some amazing days in Bar Harbor. On our way back to NY, we stopped in Manchester VT. I'm a super picky eater.SUPER. PICKY! It's annoying af for me but worse for anyone with me, I think lol. We couldn't find a place to eat bc we had gotten in kinda late. I looked on Yelp! And found this place. Not a big Mexican food fan, but I would find something. This place is great. I, being like a 5 year old kid, ordered a plain chicken burrito. They thought I was kidding. I get that a lot when I order at restaurants lol. They were THEEE nicest guys that worked here. Was kind of refreshing tbh bc you go into most places these days and well....they are people who truly hate working with the public lol. Prices weren't bad at all. It was legit worth every penny and then some. Even if I ordered some plain sh*t, the chicken was SO good and spicy. I know this place already does amazing even without reviews. BUT! If you are in the area and need a restaurant that doesn't close at like 6! Bc Manchester legit shuts down SO. EARLY! Avocado Pit, I believe is open until 9. Smart move on their part. Check it out. The Avocado Pit employees are kind and friendly. I ordered a breakfast burrito (at 5PM hehe) with queso fresco and salsa rojo. As I was paying for my meal, I was tempted by the Nutella(?)-drizzled chocolate chip cookies at the checkout line. I quickly snagged one and can confirm it was delicious. The limeade was a little too sweet for my taste, but it had a good amount of tang. Sadly, my breakfast burrito was extremely bland despite having cilantro, onions, black beans, and corn. While I really wanted to like this restaurant, I can't justify the bland flavor given the high prices. read more

Overpriced. They never seem to know what you are asking to order. I ordered 1 street taco with everything that comes with it and one pit taco. Was charged extra for pork. So what do you get? Just taco and some onions by itself for 4$? They charge extra for beans corn etc. I didn't get anything extra and this is my receipt. Waste of money. Made a quick pit stop to pick up a bite here while en route to a VT cabin. The service was a bit slow which caused the line to build up fast. The food is also very bland for Mexican food. It did the job, but I wouldn't say I was satisfied with the meal. The portions were also really small. I ordered double meat in a burrito and it was probably less meat than a normal single portion at most places. read more

We popped in for lunch during a day of shopping in Manchester. The shop is small, with only a handful of tables. My daughter had a bowl with the cilantro lime chicken. She said it was very good. The bowl was bigger than it looked. The I have a gluten allergy, so I was thrilled to hear they had GF burritos. I had a GF burrito with chicken and the usual ingredients. It was wonderful. Such a treat to have a burrito and it was delicious. Next time I will try the Cinnamon Sugar House Chips, but we were too full. I used the restroom. We are here at 1 on a Tuesday and we will not return. My kids got tacos and they were super cold.... When we questioned the manager he was pretty combative and insisted the temp was fine. Additionally, the temp in the restaurant was really really warm- not comfortable to sit in to eat. Plus the tables were pretty dirty. Don't recommend. read more

We got some food from here to go when we were staying nearby. I do have to say it is one of the most budget friendly options in the area. It is the usual order at the counter situation. I had 3 different tacos and the chips with queso. All of the food was great. My wife also had a bowl and she loved the mushrooms that were added in. Great vegetarian options! Shared a burrito with my mom and while we are both vegetarian, she eats dairy and I don't. They kindly put the cheese and sour cream on the side for her. The pinto beans and the mushrooms were the best part of the burrito for me. Only complaint is it got soggy at the very end. Chips and salsa were good. The people were nice (however the young man who helped us kept calling us "dear") but the food was horrible. The chips were thick and the salsa seemed to have some kind of tomatoes sauce in it. The people who work here are so kind and the food is absolutely fresh & delicious. As a mom I appreciate healthy fast food for the family and we are so lucky to have this offering in our community. Sienna was especially helpful but honestly everyone there is great. The deconstructed burrito is my favorite but the beauty is it's all made to order so everyone gets what they want. Grabbed takeout from avocado pit for dinner, not only did the app not get my order correct but I found metal wire of some sort in my dinner. They said something like, I know what it might be from! And said they would refund our meal. They did offer to give us food if we went to pick it up. We didn't go back. I was worried the whole night when my son was having his mini burrito. We frequented here when it used to be Cilantro. We keep coming back for the fresh food, great sauces and seasonings and tasty variety of protein choices. First, when you say the salad dressing comes on the side then include it. The rice in all of our orders was a dense compressed mass. Like oatmeal or porridge. If you don't know how to make one of the main ingredients in your food, figure it out. If you make it wrong, compost it and start again. Don't just shrug your shoulders and serve it anyway. And what's with all the black pepper in the queso fresco? It was inedible. Really disappointed. read more

The Avocado Pit is a great place to stop to get a quick meal that is fresh. They just opened recently and is family owned / operated. The interior of the restaurant has been redone and feels more welcoming. Their meats are locally sourced and if meat isn't your thing, every item on their menu can be made vegan or vegetarian. Their entire menu is made fresh each day so you are guaranteed to enjoy it. I recommend their Pork Pit Bowl! read more

I had the soft tacos, and they were inedible. Not only did they disintegate as soon as I picked them up, but the tacos themselves tasted awful. I know some soft tacos can fall apart, but these didn't just fall apart, they turned into a disgusting mess the moment I tried to pick them up.
