We came here for the Festival of Trees event. I have heard of this venue multiple times and was glad to be able to see it in person. The main barn is smaller than I thought but it is very pretty inside with plenty of photo opportunities. The outside areas are quite expansive as well. What an elegant, classy, rustic venue. I'm a sucker for red barns (check out Rail Epicurean if you love them too) and this fit the bill with silo, hay bales, gravel drive, and a wooden porch out front. Not to mention large wooden red barn doors to complete the look! But then the inside. Purely enchanting! For a party I attended, they decked the place out in string lights and wrapped them on the banister and I'm pretty sure I walked into a twinkling piece of heaven. Holy moly, this place is simply stunning and elegant with a rustic feel! It very comfortably held 100 people and could probably fit more. I didn't want to leave at the end of the night it was so dreamy. Other notes: -Parking available at adjacent church - short walk for guests, or AWB has golf carts -Elevated stage perfect for entertainment -Bathrooms located right off the main floor -Owners are extremely nice and accommodating - ask them to tell you the story of their biz! -Not sure how wheelchair friendly it is - guests had to walk up some steps to enter, and it's a gravel drive read more

UPDATE: Brian was able to work with us and give us half our money back. I think both parties lacked communication but I am happy that Avon Wedding and Event Barn was able to take some accountability and try to make this right. Had my wedding here 10.30.22. The wedding coordinator was forgetful and very unprofessional. We had hired a photo-booth company to come set up in the venue and BarbaraAnn refused to let them set up in this area we had planned out. The photo-booth attendant was offering other possible options and BarbaraAnn refused them all and not willing to accommodate. This eventually led to the photo-booth attendant packing up everything and leaving bc she was not willing to work with them and left them with no other option. I was NEVER informed by this. I noticed the booth wasn't there during the reception. The wedding coordinator is not holding responsibility for this and we are out the $500 we paid for a photobooth that we never got to use due to poor communication. Wedding coordinator was horrible. She was 30 minutes late to the second meeting and forgot that she had it. She then went over the same things and told us the same stories which led to a disastrous day of the wedding. She then chewed out the bar staff in front of the father of the bride and was then rude to him. Poor communication and forgetfulness. We had set up our rehearsal dinner for 6 pm in December of 2021. Reiterated that we wanted it at 6 in March when we came back for our 2nd meeting and she still scheduled another wedding rehearsal at the same time. She called the groom by the wrong name. Overall Barbarann and all her promises left us feeling like we got ripped off. My daughter wished she didn't do her wedding because of all of the problems and screw ups that Barbarann promised her she would not know anything about. She is very disappointed which makes the parents upset because this is supposed to be the most perfect and magical day. read more

She came fully prepared with an entire folder full of information, including caterers, florists, etc. She has thought of everything and told us the very unique and romantic history of the barn. Ceremony: The ceremony itself was beautiful.  My sister did a wonderful job decorating and she was gorgeous. Dinner/toasts:   The family members were not moved as promised by Barbara Ann.  They were still sitting at their ceremony tables which meant they are now sitting at the farthest back table!  This did not get remedied.  They were the last to eat, last to get cake, could not hear the toasts nor see the wedding party tables that well.  Champagne, also, was not served to the bridal party so I had to remind Barbara Ann to do so. Reception: First off, I want to say there is hardly any room to dance (especially if want to do some line dancing).  The dance area should be larger. The dj did a good job keeping the party alive so that was good. My sister wanted to change to her reception dress so we went to the bridal room to change.  Her wedding dress bag and reception dress was not there so I ran (in heels) to the bridal suite to see if items were still there.  They were (along with everything else that I told Barbara Ann was still there).  When I finally made it back to the venue, Barbara Ann was there and said that I should have told her to go get the stuff to which I replied "I told you 2 hours ago that there was still stuff in the bridal suite".  My sister finally got changed and the reception began. I went back to change my outfit and could not find anything.  The items brought from the bridal suite were just thrown about. Stray items were just thrown in bags regardless whether they belonged to that person or not.  We had, for the most part, most of our personal items organized at the bridal suite.  There were some items not put away because we, at the end, were being rushed out the door by Barbara Ann and did not have time to clean things up. My sister had to track a few of my missing items from the other bridesmaids and ship them to me since I live out of state. Cleanup:  During the reception, Barbara Ann's children/grandchildren began cleaning off tables.  They were throwing stuff away without asking if it was ok to do so.  I gave my sister our deceased dad's handkerchief to use during the ceremony.  She had put it on the table next to her bouquet to go dance.  It got thrown away!!  When the reception was over, we began to cleanup.  This is when we realized what was missing. Barbara Ann said she would discipline her grandchildren and would personally go through all of the trash to find the handkerchief as she does not like to have wet items in trash bags. She supposedly wanted to separate wet from dry before putting them into the dumpsters and would stay up all night until it is done. We loaded everything up.  I could not find the catering in the takeout bag that I had left on the counter nor could I find the leftover cake or the rest of the catering for the wedding dinner.  The next day my sister inquired about the items. Barbara Ann could not find the handkerchief. My sister then took it upon herself to go back to the venue to look for the handkerchief.  She went so far as to go into the dumpster to look for herself. She said there were wet items in bags, etc. indicating that Barbara Ann probably did not even bother to look for the handkerchief.  My sister found decorations, boutonnieres, etc in the trash but did not find our fathers handkerchief. This is the most disheartening item to lose.  Our father passed away before my wedding so using his handkerchief at my wedding was very special for me and then to pass it on to my sister for her wedding was priceless. read more

This is going to be a lengthy review of this wedding venue. I was the matron of honor at my sister's wedding and this is my personal experience. I will start with communication. My sister did not block rooms for the venue at the participating hotel due to lack of interest at the time. As the wedding approached, several, including myself, wanted to get a room at the hotel. The bride, my sister, was told by Barbara Ann, the owner, that a discount would be given to anyone that still wanted a room. I wanted to get a room for myself and my sister (as a gift to her and her husband for their wedding night since they could not afford a honeymoon). I tried to no avail. Barbara Ann would not return phone calls and when she did get back to the bride, would not call the hotel on our behalf. Venue/barn: It is an old pre-existing barn that was actually used as a barn and turned into a place to hold weddings. There are bird droppings on all the ceiling beams. It smells like a barn - moldy and old. When the ceiling fan was turned on for the reception, feathers and bird droppings flew off of the fan blades (as observed by several guests). There are two toilets (which had not been cleaned) and one sink with no hot water. Rehearsal: We wanted to get through at least two practice runs of the rehearsal. That did not happen because Barbara Ann would not stop talking about herself and how wonderful she was, etc. We asked about the ceremony vs reception seating since alter on one end and the bridal tables on the other. We were concerned about family members not being up front for both the ceremony and then the toasts/cake cutting, etc. Barbara Ann assured us that she would make sure to keep tables reserved on both ends and she would physically get the family members moved. We barely made it through rehearsal before she was rushing us out the door but not before she had to make sure to continue to boast about herself while doing so. She hyped herself and the venue up so much that we thought to ourselves "ok, she's overbearing but she will be there for us when we need her". Wedding morning decorating: We were scheduled to arrive at the venue at 10am to decorate but my sister wanted a little extra time so requested 9am. She was charged extra to be there early! My sister and I arrived to the bridesmaids folding napkins (provided by the venue at which there was not enough as promised so we had to use two different colors) and Barbara Ann setting up the tables. We proceeded to decorate all the while listening to Barbara Ann's life stories (so much so that it was hard to get stuff done). We had reserved tables for family during ceremony as well as reserved tables for the reception. When we finished decorating, we ate lunch that I catered in from a local restaurant. I put the cold leftovers in the fridge and rest of the food in the catering bag and set it on the counter to take home later. Bridal Suite/Grooms suite: We made our way the bridal suite. There is a lower and upper floor. It was very small. There was hardly enough room for the bridal party let alone a makeup artist, hairdresser and photographer. The upstairs had a bed (which is entirely unnecessary) that takes up most of the space in the upstairs and there was not a place to hang my sisters beautiful wedding gown. No hooks or anything to display it for pictures, to steam it, etc. There was only a small closet. We had to end up hanging her dress from the curtain rod! The groom's room had a pool table, etc for the guys to keep busy. That is the ONLY plus. There was not a mirror in the room, no hot water, no shower and the bathroom was unfinished. The entry to both of these suites was unkempt. There was not a nice walkway to the venue. Golf carts are available to take the bridal party; however, sitting down would wrinkle our dresses so we had to walk in the grass and dirt to get to the venue. Landscaping was lacking and there was a dirty cat roaming about that kept trying to get in. The wedding was scheduled to start at 4pm. Barbara Ann had told my sister that schedules never happen when they are supposed to so be flexible. I was a guest at a wedding this past weekend. The venue was nice and had potential to be fun. The owner/wedding planner is rude. Every interaction I had with her was unpleasant. She is not friendly to the guest and even cut in front of a line of guests into the restroom and acted entitled to do so even though cake cutting and first dances were more than 45 minutes later. Unfortunately she doesn't seem to know what she is doing as a wedding planner at all. Apparently something has happened and she has taken over this role badly. The reception didn't move along and the DJ was young and much too inexperienced. He played about 5 line dance songs in a row, all cliche' ish songs with no break in between them. I am a vendor contracted to work a wedding tonight here. My booth attendant arrived, setup, & was then told by the owner Barbara Ann that due to fire code the booth could not be stay there. The backdrop, table, & couch were setup at the venue before our arrival so the space was predetermined by the venue. My attendant called me & after a FaceTime that did in face showed that the booth space & banquet tables the venue set up did not allow room for guests to easily access a ramp & exterior door. I asked my attendant to find the woman who told her this and send her info to me and let her know I would be calling. After numerous calls going straight to voicemail & texts going unanswered, she called me back. We had a discussion & she stated that due to fire code the booth could not be setup there. She also stated that 80 people would be going in & out of that door. They were hoping for an outdoor wedding (chairs covered at this point) & the guests would be ushered in & out of that door. If it had to move indoors due the rain, that space would be utilized by the wedding party. She did suggest that someone at the venue could move the booth in & out of position but due to insurance & liability reasons, we could not allow that. She was not super invested in figuring out a solution and I pressed her to see if there was another space in the venue that might not be perfect, but they would at least have a booth. She did suggest another space, stating that it was in close proximity to the food line and she wasn't sure it was much better. I told her to show my attendant the space and then I would FaceTime her (attendant) to assess. After FaceTiming & adding another employee to the call for assistance, it was decided that it was not a safe setup space for our equipment or guests. Contractually it did not meet our requirements as well. My attendant attempted to locate Barbara Ann & was unsuccessful. Due to her phone going to voicemail & wanting it in writing, I texted her at 2:49pm to let her know that we were unable to setup, letting her know that I would be personally reaching out to the bride the following day. I received no response. My attendant spent another 10 minutes tearing down & never saw Barbara Ann. At 5:15 I began receiving angry (rightfully so, although misdirected) voicemails, texts, & emails from the wedding party. It was as if my attendant had just decided to leave and never told anyone. I texted Barbara Ann again, asking her to please inform her clients of the situation. No response. I then received an email from the bride & I responded asking someone to please call me, but also informing her that we were unable to setup due to fire code & the venue unable to provide an alternative location. Barbara Ann decides to text me back after that saying she never said that and that it was my choice to leave & that my attendant should have done more. Basically she did not take any responsibility and threw me under the bus. My attendant was there for 45 minutes setting up & an additional hour and 15 minutes while we tried to come up with a solution. It was a drop off event, meaning we set up, leave, and pick up at the end. There is no attendant during the reception, that is what the bride booked, There would be no reason for us to do all the paperwork, create the graphics & software, drive a total of 2.5 hours, setup, and then just decide to leave. We had already done all but the booth being there without us for 4 hours. It makes no logical sense. The blame falls on the venue and I would steer clear if I were a bride looking for a venue. I would also steer clear as a vendor unless you want to risk your company's reputation with some old woman who can't take responsibility for allowing anything to be setup in front of an exit door. read more

Pinterest exploded. ALL over this barn. inside and out. In the best way possible. I've attended 2 events at the Avon Wedding Barn about a year apart and can say the owners are continually updating. The lighted rafters and chandeliers contrast beautifully with the natural wood and white chairs (HOORAY for no silk chair covers! just a personal vendetta of mine). Antique memorabilia is sprinkled throughout the space with a sizeable stage for live music or a DJ. The outside has spool tables perfect for cocktail hour, and beautiful scenery. I appreciated a close parking lot with a golf cart circulating for. My only negative is that I felt it wasn't very accessible for someone who may have to use a wheelchair. But overall, The Avon Wedding Barn has the rustic chic look on lock! read more

We came here for the Yelp Elite event - BBQ and Bluegrass - and had the unique opportunity to meet with the owner during our shuttle ride to the barn. He quickly and concisely told us the story of how they came to acquire the property, and it was such a wonderful story, it made us feel connected to the place right away. And then we got inside...WOW! What a unique and wonderful place for an event! Rustic, homey, comforting, quaint...all of these words come to mind. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Avon Wedding Barn for my daughter's wedding in July 2018. We were blessed with perfect weather in late July which was our "first miracle"! The owner, Darinda Dragon, will work tirelessly for you on your special day to make sure everything is just the way you want it. For us, that included showing up at 7 am when we were setting up, giving encouraging words throughout the day, making a run to the store to get new corn hole bags (that happened to match our décor!), chasing a wayward bird out of the barn, helping to spiff things up where needed, and staying til the last family member was finished loading up our stuff -- all with a smile. The barn and property is perfect anyway, but it's nice to know how much the owners want your wedding day to be as perfect. read more

The wedding venue was nice. The coordinator (owner of the venue) was not very pleasant. The wedding was set to end at 10. The coordinator began cleaning up at 9 pm (as people sat at their tables still). As our group was outside the barn waiting for our uber the coordinator told us to wait for the Uber next door and shut the barn doors. She was nasty toward my family and photographer. As she cleaned up, she took our photo booth props dumped them on the floor to take her chest we used to keep the props in. Overall, the venue was gorgeous but with the customer service provided by the owner and the price we paid- it's not worth it. This should be a happy magical day, we felt like we were a burden. read more
