Still my favorite antique shop in Jacksonville. Whatever style or items you are looking for (or didn't know you were looking for until you see it!), Avonlea has such a great variety to choose from. I have been looking for the perfect Mid Century Modern king bedroom set and finally found it. Paired it with the July sale that many of the vendors were offering, making the price in my budget. The vendor was responsive and answered all my questions, including providing a recommendation for an experienced delivery company. Staff at Avonlea was really helpful as well, answering questions about holding pieces until delivery date was available. An absolute gem of an antique store in Jacksonville. This place is huge!! There are so many different types of antiques here. There were only a couple of "Foantiques" booths out of the hundreds of booths. Be prepared to spend several hours in here. We are in to Mid Century decor and found a slam dunk of a vendor here. We were able to purchase a dinning table set we have been looking for 20 years. A Broyhill Brasilia dinning table set in absolute perfect condition. Be prepared to spend a good 3-4 hours meandering around the huge building. Most vendors presented a nice selection of goods . There were several booths that weren't so much as they were untidy and not inviting . The male staff weren't very friendly at all . Nothing bad but no greeting or a hi . My first visit to Avonlea was a fun experience while viewing many great vendor booths. The interior of the store was much larger then I expected and was filled with beautiful antiques and other pieces of art, books, etc. Staff was very friendly and professional. Special shoutout goes to Sam & Susan whom helped me while making my final purchases from the Jesabel Home booth. She was celebrating her 1 year anniversary at this store. I was pleased to have found some classic vinyl albums for my personal collection at great prices. I'm looking forward to my future visits back to Avonlea! read more

The selection of items covers every interest and there is something different around every corner. However the food smell from the cafe is a big turn off and caused us to leave early this trip. One area smelled like old grease, another smelled like sausages, and an another smelled like rancid dairy products. There is always a line of people waiting to order so it must taste better than it smells. read more

I found a hidden gem here. The outside can be deceiving because you think it's one store. When I walked in I had an immediate flashback to everything my great grandmother owned in the tiniest of spaces. If you enjoy yard sales, this is the place for you. The staff is really sweet and helpful. My inner fear of mazes made it hard for me to enjoy all the many splendors of the store. I was introduced to this place by my coworkers who raved about it. I know now what they mean, because it is truly a magical and beautiful place! The food is so good, and it is made with.love and care. I like that it is hidden, because only people who know about it are the ones visiting and giving appreciation to the place. Beautiful antiques! This is an actual antiques shop, not just a second hand shop. Exquisite furniture, (but don't sit on anything), exquisite art, fabulous chandeliers, jewelry, china, sterling. LOL I have never had to priveledge to eat at the diner but I hear it is good. OMG, where do I start? Really? Why have I never been here before now? I ate lunch here with a few girlfriends today. I do have to say I did not like the egg salad sandwich at all. It was bread, tomato and lettuce with a dollop of egg salad. Wrong! I also bought a mimosa that was so so, then for dessert a piece of three layer strawberry cake that I split with two ladies. It was pretty good. Now, on to the good part:this is an Antique Consignment shopping Mall. I could spend numerous hours in here and never get tired of shopping. I surprisingly shocked that I did not make a purchase. I really do not have room for anything, nor did I need anything. I did use a little restraint and I am proud of myself. Good job ole Mate. This place is great! It reminds of a place In Ormond which serves $1 mimosa to enjoy while you stroll around. Lots of treasures to be found here. You really need to jump on the treasures when you find them or it will be gone next time you go. The prices are in line usually with the treasure you find. I haven't tried the restaurant yet but it smells great! So far I found the dishes from my childhood and the birthday cake topper I had on my 3rd birthday cake lol. It closes too early here I can't go after work because it closes at the same time as my work & by the time we are all up and ready to go on the weekend they are getting ready to close. This is the kind of place you need at least 3 hours to walk around they really need to extend their hours so more people who work for a living and take care of homes and families on the weekend can make it in too. I still give it 5 stars if you can leave work early or call I sick to make it in. read more

I've meant to come here for years. Today I finally did. Frankly, I just don't get it. It's just a flea market as far as I can tell. I walked around for 30 or so minutes and I was really shocked at how few stalls were actually inhabited by anyone. Stall after stall, row after row of stuff and very few sellers/employees/owners. I came in specifically to visit a collectibles store that I was unhappy with, but to their credit at least they were well organized. Some of these stalls just had stuff all over the place with no discernible organization. I came here and I saw it, but I don't see a reason for me to go back again. read more

What a wonderful antique mall experience! This place is HUGE!! There were a couple of things I really dug about this particular antique mall: -The entrance is open and doesn't make you feel immediately claustrophobic when you enter this Mall -This Mall is very, very large so there are hanging street signs (see pictures) to acclimate your bearings here! -The bathrooms are completely decorated in antique chandeliers, clothes, shoes...AMAZING!! You have to see pictures!! -If you get hungry during your shopping adventure the Olde Florida Café is located right smack dab in the middle of this mall. I went to this antique mall with the hopes of finding a great lamp that i could paint for my newly redecorated bedroom..this antique mall is really huge and overwelming..theres street signs! its also really pricey..i wasnt a fan..well i found a lamp that i liked..and it worked..and then they took the lightbulb out..and when i got the kind of over priced lamp home, it didnt work..and i had to go to the home depot and buy a rewire kit because the wires were all messed up, and all sales are final..i probably wont go back there..but the cafe did seem nice.. read more

After a full breakfast I wanted to go somewhere to stroll so not to go home and lay down. I was actually wanted to search for some antique gifts for some friends and figured that this would be the best place to do both. Thank god the Olde Florida Cafe is not open on Sundays because I'm sure I would've had some dessert there. This place changes every time I come here. I love strolling through all the "streets" looking at all the antiques. They have a wide assortment of items from the 1800s up until a few years ago. The prices are semi-reasonable but I'm sure you could haggle the dealer for a better price. I didn't buy anything this trip but that won't stop me from returning. read more
