This local antique mall has become my favorite. Although the space is not my favorite with the crowded spaces and confusing layout, the variety of items and vendors mean I always leave with a great find. I have visited Southern Crossing Antiques a few times and I always walk out with something. What makes this place different is the diverse and multiple contributors that each have their own areas of collectibles. They work together to create great displays and a collaboratively provide a great service for all of wonderful vintage collectibles. There are also various levels of expenses you could make and they have sales often. You can always find something and get it at a great value. I can say with 100% certainty that this is the best place to purchase vinyl records at a reasonable price. I also find Southern Crossing Antiques a wonder. I can't figure out how big it is. I've been to the front, I've seen the back, I've been to everywhere around it. I know it's not, but it truly seems to be infinite in size. I've been lost more than once and I know it can be that large. They maximize space better than anyone. I had the worst phone conversation with Nichole. She was unprofessional and did not actively listen to my inquiry. When I pushed for clarification she became very rude and frankly spoke to me as if I had the IQ of a turnip. I pushed for further clarification in which she told me she was not the owner. I inquired as to when I may speak to the owner. Nichole informed me that she did not come into the store until after hours so I would not be able to meet with her but she would take my number. Ordinarily I would have freely given my contact info but by this time Nicholes voice and wording was anything but professional so I declined. I will not be returning to this store. In the future I suggest if Nichole lead with "I can have the owner call you" instead of trying to handle a situation she niether has the authority or ability to discuss. read more

Alright, I'll be real for a minute. Sometimes my girl drags me into stores that I have no interest in walking into. Antiquing, thrifting, and shopping aren't really my cup of tea. Now I wouldn't consider myself "whipped," but sometimes it pays to make the women in your life happy. And boy is she happy when we visit Southern Crossing! I can't add much to what Elite Yelpers have already expressed. As a customer, it's easy to get lost in the store. There are too many odds, ends, and trinkets to count. We've purchased great additions to our house here at fair prices. Prepare for rigorous amounts of digging! The employees here are very polite and courteous to their customers. Very large antique store w/ many dealers offering anything vintage you can imagine, including albums & Playboys. Woot Woot:) Considerably fewer antiques here than in years past (especially quality vintage furniture), which was disappointing, but still a good shoppe if you're not in the market for antique furniture (100 yrs or older). This is my favorite antique store in Jacksonville. They have the best prices and a gigantic selection of interesting, eclectic stuff! The ladies are nice and always very helpful when I'm on the hunt for something in particular. There's always a good sale and the store is laid out beautifully. I highly recommend you making Southern Crossings a stop on your day antiquing or even a stop here before heading to the craft store or Lowe's. Southern Crossing Antique Mall is smack dap in the middle of a small strip mall off of Park it's name is somewhat perplexing to me since it located near the middle of this shopping plaza on the east side of Park far from either street crossings. I guess sometimes the name doesn't need to be relevant to attract shoppers from far and near. You certainly won't be disappointed as you enter through the front door it doesn't matter if you go left, right or right up the middle you will be treated to ogles of treasures from the past and some that would be much more at home in one of the local thrift stores but that only makes the hunt that much more challenging and the reward a little more satisfying when you peel back the layers to reveal that one piece you can live without. Honestly I can't say enough about this place. They love me here, that's how many times I've walked through the doors. Yes, i'm aware of the numerous antique establishments that flow along Park Avenue and the Riverside area in general, but Southern Crossing is by far my "retail crush." I wish every store could be like this, let's put it that way. Atmosphere: It's not cluttered, crowded, and off-putting like you would find at most flea markets or other antique stores. Every booth is well-arranged and designed appropriately so that you're not at risk of knocking something over while sifting through the various items. There's alot of ground to cover as you venture from room to room, so it's best to not come when you're pressed for time. Stuff: I'm heavily into cooking and baking, so when I have a hunkering for anything from antique cookware, to vintage baking pans, molds, and cookbooks, this is my one-stop shopping trip. I also love the antique furniture selection that they have. I can't see myself paying a fortune at a high-end furniture store when i can get better quality and more visually appealing merchandise at a store such as this one for much cheaper. Pretty much anything your have an affinity for you'll find here, which is the best part. Service: The staff here are wonderful. If I go in inquiring about a specific item or category of items, they're always quick to go out of their way to help me out. Very nice ladies, and i always enjoy talking with them! Overall: I'll be back time and time again because it's my "chicken soup for the shopper's soul" experience. I thoroughly enjoy every second that I'm here and it's by far my favorite store in Riverside. Located in the up and coming Park and King area of Jacksonville, this place is a great stop amidst this bustling local neighborhood. Southern Crossing Antique Mall is similar to the TARDIS from Doctor Who. From the outside, it looks small and you may think that it may not contain much, but once you walk inside, you are proven completely wrong. This is a store that hosts booths for different people to set up similar to a flea market, but without the junk. Prices here seem to be much more reasonable than other antique shops in the area. You could find something for everyone here due to the endless number of vendors. Antiques, furniture, records, trinkets, books, decor, clothes, and the list goes on. I wasn't even able to make it all the way through this store on my first visit. It just goes on and on. It does get a bit hot once you get towards the back of the store, so wear something light if you plan to spend a significant amount of time browsing. read more

OMG.. I literally stumbled across this Riverside gem while waiting for some friends to meet up at Lolas Burrito place. First of all..when you walk in..you instantly feel like youre in a whole different universe or something..its amazing..each "booth" has the special treasures of someone that they are making available to the customers.. This is an awesome "little" antique mall. My son and I actually got lost in here today - and he had been in here yesterday and was still confused! Because it's a "mall," its set up with little booths with eclectic items from different sellers. You cannot predict what you will see next as you work your way through the store maze. My son calls it "The Chamblin's of Antiques" and if you are a book lover, you will understand that. LOL The prices seem to range from "bargain" to "what the heck?" While the Yelp page/app does state that this mall is handicapped accessible, I would warn people with wheelchairs and crutches that some areas are just extremely narrow and packed tight. read more

What a gem! There is shelf after shelf of various wares from all sorts of different sellers catering to all sorts of eras, collections, and themes. Stopped by here after lunch in the area to see if we could find some furniture and walked out with more than we had thought we would. A bedside table, a basset hound statue, and a vintage opal ring (50% off!). The ring didn't seem to be an anomaly, several booths were offering different sales on different items. The women on staff were very courteous and patient with us as we looked through the jewelry case, even though the place was packed. I love Southern Crossing. It is a really large store, making their "Mall" title pretty appropriate. The store winds in an out and around and through all kinds of different rooms and areas, and in each and every nook and cranny is another treasure. I could spend hours in this store... days even [if that wasn't both creepy and impossible]. I want to hand inspect each and every trinket in there. I feel like if you don't get a good look at everything item in there you might miss out on something amazing! So, I take good time and care when I am in this place. Some of my most loved finds: Lime Green Painted Glass Vase that now lovingly holds my dried wedding bouquet. Large Colored Glass Lantern given to a dear friend for her birthday which is now displayed wonderfully in her living room. Turquoise Glass Serving Bowl that I use to hold my garlic and onions in my kitchen. They have great furniture, if you are in the market for a big purchase. One whole side of the store is filled with all the different cabinets, armoires, couches, dining room tables, chairs, etc etc etc. They also have wonderful selections of jewelry, lamps, diningware, and beyond. There are so many amazing things in this place... I don't even know where to begin to describe the possibilities. I am a huge fan of this place. When I shop here, as soon as I find an item I like, I take it to the ladies at the register and they hold my items on one of the many shelves. This way it keeps my hands free to check items out. I can spend hours in here. My husband and daughter live coming in here. I believe they have around 185 booths or so in here, some booths are big and some are small. I like looking for the booths that have "sale corners" for 15-75 % off. I found a blinking skull hat in here for the upcoming Yelp Mosh Museum Charity Event this month. I also found two tattoo sleeves to wear on my arms to add to my costume. I found several masks I could wear, except I wear glasses and I just can't wear them. They only downfall is they do not let you use their bathroom. They send you across the street to Walgreens. I brought three friends here today, whom have never been here before. They loved the place. We all had such fun comparing notes, prices and items in here. I bought a beautiful red hat in here today. It was a great day shopping here for all of us today. Kudos. read more

Lost for hours.... I was flying solo and being entertained around every corner- it was quite busy today and narrow twist and turns meant for lots of "excuse me" & "behind you". Also meant you shared in each others excitement as people found treasures! Most of the booths had some sort of sale going on- and you will find all sorts of prizes throughout the mall. I went in with an open mind. If you like browsing resale shops, I was beginning to find the shop filled with a variety of interesting items in many mini display areas in the store. I was finally interested in trying on some rings right in front of the lady behind the counter. I had on my Fossil watch from 1998 and a cross ring I picked up at Dillard's a couple months ago. I was also carrying a small purse with Tylenol bottle and free samples from a lovely store owner just around the corner. Much to my surprise another customer service rep came barreling at me, 'can I ring up the items you have acquired'? No, nothing I have is from your store. I had found a black/white pearl ring that my friend wanted to purchase for me. But it seemed evident that the store did not like people browsing or trying on things. I was made to feel embarrassed for no reason. I told my friend that I did not want him to purchase anything from this store and left. I will never bring out of towners there as I live .5 miles away and I will not go there again. The fun of these shops is browsing to find something interesting. Feeling stalked in a resale shop is just not what I expected. Bad customer service vibe. read more

Get lost! (In a good way) I love Southern Crossing. My mom and I like to have our Five Points dates, when we wander around all the antique stores, large or small, and then grab a nice bite to eat (two awesome things to do in 5P). I'm pretty sure it's the biggest antique mall in Riverside. As other reviewers have mentioned, the wares and whatnots one can find here span across many eras and there is bound to be at least one thing to appeal to ANY aesthetic. There are booths EVERYWHERE. I mean, around every corner, in every nook... They'd probably put booths on the ceiling if it were physically possible :p It's a veritable labyrinth of amazing. I love this place! Whenever I come here I find great items among the array of eclectic booths filled with everything you can imagine. The prices are pretty fair too and often you can get some great deals. For instance--last visit I got an awesome Stevie nicks album for $7, a ring for $2, an autographed biography for $20, and this great owl figurine for a $1 (I love owls!). Definitely check it out. Jacksonville isn't exactly a hot-spot for great antiquing so it's nice to find a place like Southern Crossing so close to where I work. I visit here on a semi-regular basis to check out the constantly changing inventory. The setup here is one you may have seen before. It's mall-style antique shops where the store is separated by different vendors who are selling their wares through "SCAM" (I just realized that their acronym isn't very flattering) but you pay for them at the front through a single cashier. It means that you as the customer don't really have to be concerned about who you are buying from because they figure all of that out for you. However, this also means that prices are left to each of the vendors to decide on... this leads to some ridiculous prices on some items and very low prices on others. Some booths will have "sales" and 2 feet over they may not, and it's is up to you to figure out whether your item falls into the sale or not. The staff can be friendly on some days and help you figure it out while other days you will be treated with complete disdain. It's kind of a crap shoot. SCAM is a very large antique mall and so it is inevitable that you'll find a few things that strike your fancy. It's one of the few places that I occasionally find things that satisfy my nerd passion of fountain pen collecting. That type of thing rarely goes for a reasonable price because they know almost nothing about rare items like that so I rarely purchase anything. However, I thoroughly enjoy perusing the isles. If you're near Riverside and enjoy antiques, you definitely want to visit sometime! read more

I've enjoyed visiting this shop numerous times, and have found plenty of items to take home. Unfortunately, I've tired of having to cross the street to Walgreens in order to use the restroom, as there's always some excuse at Southern Crossing as to why patrons are unable to use their restroom. As a regular patron, this is irritating and inconvenient, as I prefer to peruse the shop for a couple of hours. Although some of the booths are nicely organized, others are a mess, and I've found plenty of counterfeit items to make me question the policies and integrity of the dealers and the owners. The new favorite of my friends and mine is Avonlea. More variety, better quality, and friendlier staff. read more

This is the BEST antique shop in Jacksonville! The items are always changing so there is always new things to see. Lots of great vintage furniture and just about anything else you can think of! I see all different age groups in here- there's definitely something for everyone. The ladies also have integrity here and are super nice. I asked them to hold a vintage chair for me while I ran to the bank to get some money (note: they do take cards, I just wanted to use cash.) and someone else came up and said they wanted the same chair. The lady told that person that I was buying the chair and would be right back. I really appreciated that! Just another reason why this is my absolute favorite antique shop.
