I had really high hopes with this place. I did online research and decided to schedule an initial consultation with them but unfortunately had to reschedule on more than one occasion. Faith and Michelle were the people contacting me about my appointments. During our call today Michelle complained that they had an hour set aside for me, which I apologized for and I explained what was going on and why I was unable to make my appointments. She told me it would be the third time I was rescheduling. I apologized and told her I have done my best to communicate with them why I was unable to make it. Given the way she spoke to me, I asked for her name and I asked to speak to a manager to which she responded that she was the manager. She rudely asked if I wanted to reschedule again. At this point I said no because I wouldn't even feel comfortable having to interact with her in person let alone have a procedure done here. I completely understand that time had been set aside for me as a potential new patient, however the lack of customer service is unfortunate. read more

In February 2020 I had a blepharoplasty (eyelid) surgery done to remove the bags under my eyes. I live in the South Bay and had had other work done, but at UCLA in the Wilshire District. I didn't want to have this new procedure done all the way out there, so I did a little research for something more local - preferably in the South Bay. That's when I found Awaken Aesthetics. Let me tell you, I hit the jackpot. Dr. Ahn and staff were amazing throughout the entire process. Faith and Esther couldn't have been any more nicer and accommodating. I took my time to decide and after 4 months I called her again to set up my consultation for lower blepharopasty. I was recommended to see Dr Ahn by the same place I got my LASIK done and I'm so glad I decided to go with him to revise my eyelid. I was born with ptosis in my left eye which was fixed when I was a child. Although it helped lift my left eye, it left my eyelids looking uneven. I can't begin to say how happy I am with the results from my eyelid surgery with Dr. Ahn. I look 5years younger! Let me start by telling you that I researched a surgeon for six months before I chose him. Not only did I find five star reviews about him I also had a friend that recommended him. He is a fantastic and detailed surgeon, but also is the loveliest person you'll ever meet, so caring, so kind, so calming, just a lovely man. It's really hard to find a good surgeon who has great bedside manner in LA. All the Beverly Hills doctors that I spoke to we're all cut from the same mould. Arrogant & pricey. They told me that I wouldn't be able to close my eyes after the surgery. I was so nervous about that I almost didn't get the surgery done. Then I met Dr. Ahn and he explained to me that he is very conservative in the way that he works and he was only going to take off the small amount of skin that had started to sag, that's when I said, Ive found my guy! I just turned 50 and I have always looked extremely young, but as I aged my eyelids became my kryptonite, drooping fast! I was so nervous to get the surgery done I almost pulled out at the last minute. I'm so funny with my eyes I hate the thought of even Putting contacts in. I really didn't think I'd be able to go through with the surgery but it was something that had been weighing on me for the last two years. Let me tell you it is not as bad as what you imagined it to be. I had no pain. I just iced it after surgery and so the swelling remained minimal so did the bruising. I did a LOT of research before deciding to go for a consultation with Awaken Aesthetics and was wowed by the many five star reviews on here. I can see why. I met with Dr Ahn and was VERY impressed with his integrity, patience and care. He was very kind, thorough and took his time explaining everything to me. He did not make me feel rushed or like I was taking up his time. I was interested in a specific procedure and he advised me that it might be a little too soon for this and it might affect me further down the road if I ever needed to have it done again, and that it would perhaps be better to wait. (I had a consultation with another doctor from a different practice, who did not give me the same advice, and in fact told me that I would benefit from two additional procedures that I didn't want and hadn't even considered). After many years of contemplating on getting Botox or not, I finally made up my mind and did it. I don't have any experience prior to this one but I will say, I wouldn't want to try any other place. I was really hesitant to have surgery near my eyes but after years of people asking me if I was tired or depressed, I decided to have an upper and lower blepharoplasty. I did a lot of research over a couple of years and then last year went to my ophthalmologist and asked her about the obstruction of vision due to my sagging eyelids and she recommended Dr. Ahn to me. Dr. Ahn was amazing! He is very kind and has a wonderful bedside manner. He took his time to explain the options, procedures, down time, and what to expect in the healing process. He answered all my questions and concerns. On the day of the surgery, a patient needed urgent care and so he had to postpone the surgery a week. Was I upset? First time microneedling session with Michelle Crosby At Awaken Aesthetics. Referred by a friend and a regular client who will only see Michelle. Walking in the lobby, it is spotlessly clean, classy and an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Faith was on front desk and a delightful woman with a huge sincere beautiful smile. She knew who I was when I walked in early and addressed me by name. Very professional and shows effort being put into little things that make a big difference! Excellent time talking to her. 5 stars for Faith! Next is procedure time and yes I was nervous. Ive done chemical peels in past that are difficult to get through and the post procedure care is awful. Along with at least a week of downtime or going in public looking pretty scary. And results are minimal for MY skin problem, to be honest. So I finally decided to try microneedling for old acne scars that are pretty deep with hypopigmentation from teen years of kenalog injections for cystic acne. (Before accutane was invented). Michelle took an extended amount of time explaining the procedure, post procedure skin care and answered my gazillion questions. I got to view before and after images as well. The procedure is painless with topical numbing cream and she spent extra time working on areas that need more attention. It was actually quick once you get through the pre procedure process. Plus, I have a very difficult work schedule and she was kind enough to do my consult that same day As A SPECIAL FAVOR ( please don't assume this is a regular occurrence). Consultations are meant for a reason and purpose. Take advantage of them!! Michelle is a perfectionist and takes her time for the best outcome. And let me just say: 1. Downtime for me was 1 day of redness with little bumpy texture where the needles went in. To be expected and normal post procedure. 2. Procedure is painless and quick. In a quest to look more westernized/Caucasian, my mother in law has had multiple plastic surgeries in her lifespan of 67 yrs. Ranging from Face lifts, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation to upper & lower blepharoplasty. On her most recent plastic surgery visit to Asia 2 years ago, she got an Upper Blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty and rhinoplasty. You are in really good hands with Dr. Ahn. I honestly, hands down, have never met a more caring and patient surgeon. I have the most complex case of botched asian eyelid surgery and overcorrected ptosis. Dr Ahn sat with me crying for over an hour as I explained every detail about my eye history. He has followed up and given me invaluable information and given me so much of his time. He has tried to narrow down plans for my eyes because it's so complicated. He's even encouraged me to meet other surgeons to get every opinion I can and referred me to someone in Korea. In the past decade and a half, I have been to SO many aesthetic practices including the "top-ranked" and celebrity endorsed places in Beverly Hills. I have also been to chain location providers like LaserAway and Dr. Obagi. After years of struggling with my skin and navigating aesthetic procedures, I am so happy to have found Awaken Aesthetics! I have been coming to Awaken Aesthetics to see Dr. Eric Ahn for a variety of skin & beauty treatments (PRP/Micro-needling among others) for about two years, and I am never going anywhere else for the treatments I do here.  1-Quality Services: One of the best aspects of services I receive at Awaken Aesthetics, is that I am ALWAYS treated by the expert hands of Dr. Ahn himself (NOT nurses or estheticians). This makes a huge difference in the case of a favorite skin treatment: Micro-needling/PRP! Because Dr. Ahn is an Oculofacial Surgeon, he is able to administer the procedure safely and effectively right under the eye where I think the benefits of the treatment are most needed. I have never been to any practice where this procedure is done truly on the FULL face. Ever since I started doing a true-full-face Miconeedling/PRP with Dr. Ahn, I can not go back to other providers because I want my money's worth of treatment. Most doctor's offices employ nurses to multiply the number of patients being treated to maximize profits often compromising the level of service, but Awaken Aesthetics does not compromise quality--ever-- and that speaks volumes on their professional ethics and integrity. Dr. Ahn gives me his time and attention every time, and it shows in my results and overall experience of being treated at Awaken Aesthetics.  Dr. Ahn is a highly ethical person, and he will never push or recommend bogus procedures to you. In fact, when I first came in to see him, I was concerned with my deep set/hollowing under eyes and wanted information on surgery. He gave me his honest opinion and dissuaded me from surgery simply because, as I also realized, it was not the best option for me and other methods could improve my appearance. I am super young and he was right! He is an honest person and does not take advantage of people or try to push procedures on people for monetary profits.  2-Prices: The same treatments that I get done at Awaken Aesthetics are significantly pricier at other practices where patients are not even being seen or treated by doctors.  In fact having the opportunity to consult with the doctor even for 15 minutes is something that many places charge hundreds of dollars, but at Awaken Aesthetics, I ask the doctor all sorts of questions during my treatment. The prices and service is unbeatable and very reasonable.  3-Customer Service: I have never encountered a long or uncomfortable wait period. The receptionists (Faith & Esther) are both incredibly kind, welcoming, and hospitable. They always give you appointment reminders so you don't miss your appointment. If you are waiting for some reason, they offer you tea or water. The overall atmosphere, manners, and care is outstanding. Everyone on the team is very friendly and down to earth.  4-"Ethnic" Skin: While navigating skincare at OTHER places, I previously encountered some incompetency and racism. In fact, doctors had gone so far as to say that Indian/Pakistani (South Asian) skin was "defected" and inherently problematic simply because they were not learned enough about so-called "ethnic" skin to treat it and get results. In the past, doctors have blamed and gaslighted me for my "natively inferior" skin to cover their own incompetency (so racist!). You will never encounter this at Awaken Aesthetics. With the right treatment plan Dr. Ahn has effectively made my skin look better than it ever has in my adult life.   Dr. Eric Ahn and Dr. Alex Liu were highly recommended to me by their colleague, another doctor who I consider a friend and trustworthy expert in the field of aesthetic procedures. I was thinking about getting the double eyelid surgery for a couple years and as I was contemplating, the skin over my eyelids continued to sag. I researched many physicians and have gone on numerous consultations in search for the right doctor. Dr. Ahn is not only an Ophthalmologist but an amazing physician with reconstructive surgery. Doctor Eric Ahn is an eye surgeon who specialized in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyes and the facial area I had several consultations with Doctor Ahn, before I underwent a surgical procedure with him, some repair of a previous facial injury. From the very first meeting on, Doctor Ahn impressed me with his very open, friendly and courteous stile. He makes one feel welcome and immediately instills trust to be in best hands, due to his medical expertise. During each meeting with him, he absolutely transmits compassion for his patients and for his profession. Although he seems super busy and extremely demanded, he takes the necessary time to explain in detail his medical approach and rationales. Thereby he remains calm, focused and extremely patient, no matter how many patients are sitting in his waiting room. In addition, Doctor Ahn seems committed to high ethical standards, as he would prioritize the best interest and outcome for the patient. Specifically, he would not talk a patient into any procedure or put his income first. His also provides excellent post surgical care. I had to travel to his office for several hours. However, the travel distance remains absolutely irrelevant, if one can calmly rest their head on his surgery table, with total trust into his devotion and into the best surgical outcome possible. I was referred by a colleague in the medical field to see Dr Ahn about my under eye concerns. It was the best phone call I ever made! I find his technique extremely effective for correcting my problems. what is most compelling though is the complete attention to giving the best possible service an making sure the patient is informed and satisfied. Dr. Ahn is so kind and caring. He listened to my concerns and what my goals were. I liked that he emphasized what did I think needed to be addressed. I liked that the goals were realistic. Because I have numerous allergies, he took the time to do a skin test on me to make sure I wouldn't have a reaction to the filler he proposed using. He kept in contact with me to ensure that I was alright and not having any issues. The day of the procedure he made sure that I had all of my medications in place, just in case. He checked with me again about what my expectations and goals were. Reassuring me we were both on the same page. I will admit it was a bit painful, but there was absolutely no bruising. I came out look rested, not over done. And best of all no allergic reactions. Faith was wonderful about explaining the filler program and signing me up. No more looking tired! So happy.
