Wonderful service, reasonable prices, and definite pride in their pizzas. Very impressive…read more I got the wild boar pizza! I really enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients and simplicity of good ingredients with good equipment and technique. Nothing was being hidden, instead every component was highlighted. The dough was crispy and just taken from the oven, and the boar was juicy and made the pizza incredibly savory. I would really recommend this place. My friend who's lived in italy approved!

We were seated in the back near the pizza oven, which ended up being the best seat in the house because we got to meet Austin. He was absolutely fantastic. The energy, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality he brought to the experience made the evening so special. Mike was our server and he was also wonderful, checking in often and making sure everything was perfect. They had unfortunately run out of chicken parmesan, but instead of simply saying it wasn't available, they made it from scratch just for my husband. It was easily one of the best chicken parmesans we have ever had. The sauce was so incredible that we could not stop talking about it. Austin overheard us and, without us even asking, brought over a full bowl of the sauce so we could dip our pizza crust in it. That level of attention and care is something you rarely see. I ordered the New York style pizza and it was absolutely delicious. They use sourdough and King Arthur's flour, and you can truly taste the difference. The flavor and texture were outstanding. When we finished, they asked if we wanted dessert. We were hesitant because we were already so full, but Austin encouraged us to try their vanilla cheesecake and we are so glad he did. It was honestly some of the best cheesecake we have ever had. Between the phenomenal food, the thoughtful service, and the warm and welcoming atmosphere, this place completely exceeded our expectations. Experiences like this are rare and truly special. We will absolutely be back. Highly recommend!

From ideation, to custom menu design, to contract reviews, paperwork including proof of insurance, and payment, Kevin was incredibly professional, flexible, responsive, and ultimately was the determining factor in ensuring our family (with young kids) would actually be able to enjoy the vacation without worrying about cooking, ordering in, or carpooling far distances on windy, dark roads. Kevin and team were also dog and kid friendly. Beyond the professionalism, the food and service were absolutely outstanding. It was hard to believe, but each meal was better than the last, as were the quality of the ingredients used. We would recommend Chef Kevin to anyone seeking relative affordability and a great value yet making zero sacrifices around taste, quality, and service. We are happy to write this review and support Kevin. We expect when we reach out for our next family event that Kevin will have a team of 100+. There is no better - Kevin and team won't disappoint.

It really feels like a home cooked meal made with care. While the prices aren't the cheapest, the quality and taste absolutely justify it. You can tell there's a lot of attention put into each dish. My personal favorite is the lechon kawali paired with their garlic rice. It is crispy, rich, and packed with flavor. The dining space itself is cute, cozy, and very clean, making it a perfect little date night spot. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which adds to the overall experience. It isn't the fastest service, so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're on a time crunch. It's a great place to sit down and relax, and really enjoy the food. One thing to keep in mind is that their hours can be a bit unusual, so it's definitely worth checking ahead before you go. Location-wise, it's also a great stop. It is just a short walk from the local brewery and the rail trail, making it an ideal place to grab a meal after a walk or before heading out for a couple of beers. Overall, a fantastic spot if you're looking for comforting, high quality Filipino food in a cozy setting.

But there are a few universal similarities with Latin food: rice, seafood (because I'm a pescatarian) and garlic- to name a few. Then there's their halo-halo dessert. So when Hapág Bistro popped up in my Yelp pages- in Highland, NY no less and conveniently close to work- I was in. Hapág is cozy the second you step in here. My eyes immediately went up to the ceiling where these folks have faux greenery+florals hanging across the space. It actually softens Hapág and adds a little "nature". I was here on a tight clock and didn't have time to sit down for a full meal. But while I looked at the menu at work, one thing immediately jumped at me: halo-halo. This thing is sweet. It's a sweet explosion of shaved ice, creamy ube goodness, jellies, fruit and leche flan tucked in like little treasures. Then comes the ice cream on top tying the whole shit together. Every spoonful is cold, creamy and sugary in the best way. Shoutout to my girl Danielle, who was super pleasant and had one of those smiles that totally makes the place feel even more welcoming. Next time I'll actually stay long enough to eat real food- but for a quick pop-in, Hapág came out on top with dessert alone.

Admittedly, I fall a lot closer to the latter, but I appreciate the juxtaposition. According to the sign outside, they specialize in fresh dressed game birds, undoubtedly sourced by the group of guys running the attached gun shop (which is also decorated by some local taxidermist). I can't understand why they have a photo of that reality TV star that used to fire people up on the wall, but that's neither here nor there. The staff did seem annoyed that we wanted to spend way too much money getting sandwiches and groceries with them, but at least they were efficient, and the selection is eclectic and fun. They've got fresh wild turkey eggs, a surprisingly great selection of cheese, all kinds of house-cured meats, as well as the standard array of deli meats with which they'll make you some pretty decent sandwiches. There's also all sorts of sauces, jams, pickled pineapple (!) local honey, beer, cider, some bizarrely priced minced dried onion...I had a blast poking around and overpaying for a random assortment of edible delights (although some were more delightful than others). I'd like to come back with more of a plan to try their poultry, or at least some fresh ground beef, the bacon, and more.
