I was looking at the prices for the dim sum, it seemed expensive. But, then I looked online for some of the places we used to go in Chinatown, New York, oriental grocers charged a little less than a lot of the places we used to patronize. When you consider they're doing all the work it's really a bargain! It was one thing when we would take the D train down to Grand Street and walk a couple blocks and load up; now it's major operation. I'm so glad they are still around. The owners are always very accommodating and helpful.

Poughkeepsie Farm Project is conducting it outreach this weekend and next to attract new membership. It was wonderful to meet some of the new people who are considering joining the farm as a CSA member. It's an investment to be sure. You do need to pay for your shares upfront so that the farmers know how much to plant and can budget accordingly. That being said, they do accept credit card payments and even EBT/SNAP through their website ordering system. It's fun to pick up my share because one never knows what's been picked - it's a surprise every week. There's just one more pick up before we go dormant until late spring/June. I'm preparing and storing as much as I can to hold me over because I know where the food has been grown and I know it's chemical free. If you are in the region of the Hudson Valley/Poughkeepsie town, consider joining. With the price of produce and the supply chain glitches ( don't get me started on why), being assured that you will have fresh produce, fruit, mushrooms, eggs, yogurt, and cheese from a nearby local farm lends a piece of mind

On 2 occasions they brought me to where I was able to find what I was looking for. I love a grocery store that celebrates food. And excellent food at that. It's a wonderful place to shop and to bring delicious and fresh food home to enjoy wonderful nourishment.

Presumably this is because of the proximity to City Of Poughkeepsie, but I see no reason for it. This location has a bit of a confusing situation because you really need to remember which entrance you use so you can get back to your vehicle without having to circle the entire building with an overflowing cart of groceries. They are pros and cons to shopping here. Staff is extremely friendly to the point where you feel like you're at a neighborhood small grocery. But this place is massive with an abundance of imports and unique offerings from around the region. I belong to a farm cooperative, so I don't usually need vegetables. However, in this case, I did shop produce to locate some organic options to serve with the scallops and shrimp. The presentation is wonderful, but the prices are outrageous. Year over year, the same items that I purchased at Adam have increased by at least 30%. Some of that is due to the current geopolitics, but some of it is just plain exorbitant pricing. My purchase: A stop at Seafood to make sure they had 2 pounds of sea scallops approximately $24 per pound- wild caught. And the colossal shrimp more than $20 per pound also wild caught. Next stop a birthday cake - everything looks wonderful and I'm sure that there are items that are not mass produced with lots of fillers, but idea say that they probably use the same cake mixes as the less pricey supermarkets.
