1. We recently purchased a home and closed back in May. On the closing disclosure, Axos stated that they would not be selling our loan. A month later, we got a letter stating that our loan had been sold. This seems very strange to me. If a lender promises they won't do something, they should actually follow through on that promise. 2. During the closing process, about 11 or 10 days before close, the loan officers asked us how we wanted our vesting on the title worded. 2 days before close, their lawyer apparently told them that the way we had wanted it worded wasn't correct, and recommended it be worded another way. I don't know why they didn't speak up earlier when we asked them for input as to how to word it, and I don't know why we're even asked how we wanted it worded when apparently we don't have a choice in the matter. It also doesn't help that the loan officers we worked with were not able to offer recommendations on how to word it. Perhaps they could not do so for liability issues? Or did they not know the different options for how to word the vesting? If it was the former, it would have been helpful for them to tell us that. But then the lawyer told us how they wanted it worded anyways? Very confusing process. 3. Attempting to schedule recurring payments online, the website seems to be broken and is not allowing us to do so. I eventually reached a human being (see #4) and we were asked to print out a form and fill it out and email it back in. Just moved to a new house and haven't yet set up the printer, so it's a bit more of a hassle than I'd like. This is broken. Please fix it. 4. Called their customer service line several times. A couple of times, I got to the point in the script where Evo AI asked if I wanted to upgrade my account security through adding biometrics. I said no, because that was not the purpose of my call, and it hung up on me. This is broken. Please fix it. The only saving grace in this whole process was our loan origination officer, Kelly Lord, who was very patient and helpful and even went to bat for us to match a competing offer we had received. read more

Try to call, you're sent to india to someone who can't speak anything near fluent English, ask to transferred Stateside so I could understand them and no, unable to transfer. They pay almost no interest, Dad put beneficiaries on his account before he died, they refuse to honor it and locked me, the POA and Guardian out of the app!! They're demanding probate and refuse to provide critical IRS data even though he is deceased. This bank has been a nightmare. They seemed fine at first but they are now holding my paychecks for a minimum of 10 days before allowing me access to my own money. They tried to tell me that this is protocol if you do not use direct deposit. Not all employers use direct deposit because they must pay a great deal for it. Axos then claimed that they have to wait for the checks to clear. I altered my employer who called their bank and the check has completely cleared. It's now 8 days since the check cleared and they continue to hold it. This is forcing me to have to use my savings and my investment accounts to pay bills. Axos is completely useless. Additionally, their website is either slow or down. Their customer service is not. They shine their customers on and do nothing. I cannot continue to function nor operate daily activities like this. I've had a terrible experience with Axos. I was drawn to the interest rate and I opened 2 business accounts and a personal account. I completely regret it and now have to move all 3. They hold deposits for 5 days, even if it's a regular consistent amount (like rent payment from a tenant). They reject mobile check deposits for tiny small things that aren't coherent like the person writing the check correcting the date from a "5" to a "6" for the DATE not the amount, for the DATE. Which causes such a hassle to try and get a new check to deposit. Without explanation I haven't even received the advertised rates even thought I have a recurring monthly deposit above the minimum and keep above the min of average daily balance. Terrible experience with Axos, including their customer service. I have a loan with them and they randomly opened both checking and savings accounts in my name at the same time. I sent a message on their portal to close both accounts because I did not request them. I was told they were closed. I got an email last week saying that they have decided to part ways with me because I didn't fund the savings account (that I never wanted in the first place!). No communication about whether my loan is still active or how I need to pay going forward, if it is. When I called customer service last night, the lady wouldn't give me any information and then just sat there in silence until I started asking questions. Got hacked. Hacker used our information to open an account at Axos and two other online banks (that we know of so far). This bank was very unhelpful in flagging the account someone else opened in our name as a fraudulent account even though we gave them all our info (we now regret doing that because it didn't help move the needle one bit in our favor) The rep kept saying he can't disclose information for security reasons EVEN AFTER we gave him our SSN. The bank didn't seem to mind opening an account without proper verification, but we can't close it even though our credentials were used? Rich! The other two banks were a lot more helpful. read more

Do NOT do business with this bank. It is very difficult to engage with a real human and when you do, they have no authority, only platitudes. When my organization requested an account to be closed and a check sent, they claim it was sent although it was never received. Then they refused to send a replacement, even thought they had put a stop pay on the "original check", and further paid no interest on the funds for over 90 days. I originally opened a bank account with AXOS to take advantage of their HYSA. Terrible idea. I have had issues with them inconsistently adding the correct interest rate to my account (i.e. 1% instead of the 4+% rate). They also have IT issues where they've transferred money from incorrect accounts leading to me paying overdraft fees. The accounts I see and select on my end are not the ones they are transferring money to and from. I've reached out to Axos multiple times to figure out why this is happening and it took over two months to get a response. This was after speaking to multiple people who told me I'd hear back in 2-5 business days. I am now learning that other people are having the same issues but I feel very much gaslit whenever I am able to speak with an actual human. read more

Terrible customer service!!!! I have a CD that matured there and They have made me jump through hoops to try and withdraw the funds. First they had me link a an external account only to find out that money can only be added, not withdrawn that way. Then I asked to have it wired and I would pay the $35 fee. I keep getting told that the funds will be wired today and then I get another excuse as to why it will be tomorrow. Meanwhile I am not getting interest during this time period. I borrowed money via a Personal Loan to replace my HVAC. I have great credit and the liability was funded. Then the barriers started. First Red Flag is they make you open a checking account with the assurance that you can transfer the money immediately to your bank. Second Red Flag the App is clunky and difficult to navigate. Third red flag: they couldn't locate my bank. Then my bank set a $5000 Dailey limit to move money from Axos. Bottom line : I borrowed money but had limited access to it but am paying interest on it .I have used LENDING CLUB, DISCOVER and PROSPOR in the past. The worst banking experience I have ever had. been more than 2 weeks of back and forth trying to close my account and transfer back to my original bank. They restricted my account as soon as I attempted to transfer out. I decided to close my account because of their lack of transparency. Sent me 4 "verification links" none of which worked nor did the QR codes. The service reps don't have a way to send you the link, so you have to wait hours in between while they contact a department you can't speak to. They restricted my account after that despite my calling in and providing name, full ssn, account number, all contact information, my security phrase, and security questions. Money mysteriously disappeared - over 30k. They allegedly sent back to my bank after over week of back and forth, but then wouldn't provide any transaction details or where they sent it. I have never heard of a bank that doesn't follow federal documentation requirements for large transfers over $10k. No way a bank can't provide a simple transactions details with tracing and return codes. Suspended my online access so I had no way to see where the money went, send secure messages, or print out any documentation for my account. Also, made 6 attempts to speak to a manager. Never had access to talk to one for 2 weeks until my attorney got involved With a demand letter and making it clear we would file a civil suit if they did not return the money or provide any legitimate documentation of the transfer. Now going on 6 business days from when the alleged transfer happened, but nothing located with the tracing number. the receiving bank never received the payment, Axos won't take steps to retrieve the funds and just send a wire. Absolutely worst experience I've had in DECADES of dealing with banks! The complaints on the reviews seem pretty spot on. We are having so many problems with inaccurate information, inconsistencies, lies, to the point we are considering legal counsel. AXOS messed up on processing, and it triggered major tax consequences. No one wants to take responsibility. We have so many "tickets" that have been escalated with them just closing it out because no one wants to be accountable. It is TAX season.. without them fixing their mistake, this is a TAX LIABILITY. I've had a CD mature on 8/12/2025 and requested a wire transfer and have had a supplied wire transfer form with external routing and account numbers entered correctly. Told online that if the form is submitted prior to 12noon pacific time the wire should be completed by the end of that day - Never happened and now 11 days out still not happening after repeated on line chats - no way of speaking to the wire desk - but told that the "team" member will be resolving the problem. Speaking with chat people also getting false information such as being able to initiate money transfers online when linking an external account - This is False - only able to transfer money into Axos after linking an external account - Either they do not know what is going on or they disseminate false information. An indication of untrained staff and perhaps how much of a turn over in chat staff. So far after daily chats - with a new person daily - last one Nikta M., before that Priyanka, and a few others that may be thankful to be working but I do feel sorry that they have to put up with dispensing "we regret the inconvenience". The business practices are horrible! They are not forthcoming with everything that you can expect if you have to overnight a check to them. They will not acknowledge receipt and you have to wait 2-3 days until the check is processed and posted to your account. You can't speak to a supervisor unless you put in a written request and it takes up to 48 hrs and all they do is apologize. They hate when you transfer funds out to different accounts and have said as much. read more

Two months in and I didn't get bonus deposit so I started contacting their customer service. First two times were via chat, then it was via message. This is a horrendous bank. I opened an Axos account in order to obtain the highest savings APY I found, but it absolutely waesn't worth it because they froze access to my entre count (my whole savings) based on one deposited check of $150 (which I requested they just cancel if it is going to cause so much trouble -- this is what a NORMAL bank does - JUST REJECT THE CHECK), and are now making me jump through a million hoops including mailing the physical check (not the biggest deal, except that sometimes the mail can be finicky so it makes me nervous), and get a Hold Harmess form from the bank which the check originated from. Well, in Philly, the bank here told me they have never done a Hold Harmless form before and they feel that Axos bank is doing something scammy by requesting it. They refused to talk to me directly, while Axos told me they want to speak only with the client, so I got them all on a three way call which was just a headache because the United Savings Bank woman wants Axos to send her the request for the Hold Harmless form directly in writing - on the phone was not sufficient for her. Of course, now she is irritated and doesn't want to help me further when I call her, she only wants Axos to call her directly. And of course, the communication time with Axos is slow as a slug - they have to go to some other fraud department in order to ask them to send United Savings the request for the Hold Harmless, and let me tell you it is a big to-do that it is more trouble than I've ever dealt with with any other bank. If you're going to have such awful communication and slow service, the very least you can do is NOT LOCK DOWN $20,000 for no reason. Sure, lock down the $150 in question. Not the entire account. I've never seen that done. Are you doing this to protect the client from their OWN money, when they are calling you over and over again to verify their identity in order to be able to access their money again? I think not. I think, IMHO, you pocket the money to help your business stay afloat for a while and want it in rotation at your bank so you lock it down so we can't move it (because we want to, as soon as we find out how bad the bank is), and find arbitrary reasons to lock it down because your bank is on the brink of folding due to its horrible service anyway. This bank is absolutely absurd and I will be strongly recommending my friends and colleagues stay far away from it, if it even lasts that long. read more

Horrible customer service. Tried transferring my business' credit card deposits to this bank, but the transfers got rejected despite the account number and routing numbers being correct. Over a week has passed and haven't been able to resolve this via messaging, phone operator, or even escalating the issue. Had to direct my credit card processor to send deposits back to my previous bank. This also resulted in an ACH hold on my deposits (due to Axos rejecting them) and hold fees. I still have my Axos account open due to the high interest rates on Savings, but I'm not confident I will be able to use this bank alone to address my business banking needs. read more

They don't actually respond, because they believe in bad customer service as per my experience and interaction with them. Each time is worse than the next.
