I was hoping for so much more since the location in downtown Winter Garden is nice. Unfortunately, the Millennials manning the store left a lot to be desire. First, there isn't a bathroom in the place, which is a major inconvenience. I had to search one out at the restaurant next door, complete with dirty looks from the host. When I got back and ordered my Cappuccino, I was told, "Can we give it to you in a to go cup? All the in-store cups are dirty." Really? That's your answer? How about, "Sir, it's going to be a few minutes..." Next, no chocolate chip cookies. Again the young lady at the counter said, "We ran out and I haven't had a chance to put any in the oven." I wouldn't want to be the owner of this place where the four youngsters can't think two minutes ahead of where they are. So, only 2 stars. This is my favorite coffee spot in downtown Winter Garden out of what is now 4 coffee joints. The coffee is amazing, super rich and fresh and flavorful and truly made right. I would have given Axum a 5 star rating in a heartbeat a few years ago when we moved to WG, but the only thing holding it back now are the WIIIIILD wait times on weekends. I've been told that it can take 20-30 minutes for a drink after waiting in a 15 minute line, only to turn around and leave on more than one occasion now, and I feel like they should try to manage this better. Maybe an online ordering system? I would definitely order ahead and be more willing to wait while walking around if that meant I could still get my Axum fix. Other than that, keep doing what you're doing! Friendly staff and yummy treats in the display case, without the exorbitant prices of some other places, will keep me coming back. Oh, and I love their coffee bar at the farmer's market, which is a much faster way to get a no frills drink! read more

If you're in the mood for a viscous yet grainy chai iced tea, try Axum. Undrinkable. Strawberry basil lemonade tasted like cleanser. I don't know how beverages can be this bad unless someone is deliberately trying to create something terrible. Employees seemed inconvenienced and irritated by our request for something different. I've been a few times since I moved to Winter Garden and I m happy to call it my favorite Coffee Shop. From the art to the flavor options, there's something for everyone. I've had a few iced coffee flavors and they were good. Hazelnut so far has been my usual. My cup of joe always comes with a vegan cinnamon roll because.. THEY'RE AWESOME. (Get it warmed up!) I'm not vegan but I enjoy any food. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and found Axum about half full. This was my third visit and have only tried their basic coffee in the past so today I wanted to try one of their specialty coffees. I asked the nice lady (named Lisa) at the register what she would recommend and she told me she loved the Chai Tea Latte. I was thinking more of coffee but I decided to try a tea! It was wonderful! I was not sure what to expect since I don't know teas that well but their blend reminded me of a great slice of pumpkin pie! Once my partner who was with me tasted it, he basically drank half of it since he loves pumpkin pie! The Staff is friendly and the coffee/tea has been very good. The only challenge I had today was not being able to access their free wi-fi. It has worked in the past so not sure what the challenge was today. You HAVE to go here!!!!!! This is a very wonderful coffee shop and one of my newest favorites. The atmosphere is very chill. You are likely to see people talking, praying together, or even studying for school. I met here with a friend just to catch up and chat. Lucky for me I squeezed into a parking space right in front because I caught someone leaving. My friend parked across the street so I wasn't aware of how easy or difficult parking could be. They have an amazing menu with so many specialty options I was so drawn in by the names. Heavenly Toffee.......Creme Brûlée.......how could I choose!!!!??? Then I saw one of my go to favorites and I knew I had to get the Chai Tea Latte (with almond milk). The staff here is so cheerful and helpful. You can really feel that they are excited and love what they do. I was so overwhelmed by the drink options that I forgot to take notice of this brightly lit case of delectables and sweets. They had cupcakes, deli sandwiches, and even cheesecake YUMMMM!!!!! I wasn't hungry to get any but I was very tempted to take something to go. I scooted down to the end of the bar for the pick up area and I watched the young lady create my beautiful Latte. I was nervous when she called my name because since we were staying they used a real mug and plate, I'm used to the plastic coffee cup with a sleeve so I was like tip toeing to my seat hoping not to spill any or mess up her beautiful design LoL Although it was a crowd of people there is plenty space inside and out for seating so we found a spot to chill close by. Starting off with the mocha iced coffee with whipped cream and caramel, this specific drink satisfies anyone sweet cravings! As well as this drink is absolutely delicious and a great quick pick me up during the day. Next is the blended mocha with whip cream and chocolate sauce, and a raspberry inspired fizzy drink. The blended mocha had a nice Frappuccino feeling to it. The raspberry fizzy drink is very interesting tasting and carbonation as well as the flavoring of the raspberry is spot on. What an awesome little coffee shop located right along the West Orange Trail in downtown Winter Garden. I like the look of the place with its high, unfinished ceiling, textured cement floors, bold colors and dark, richly colored furniture. There does not, however, seem to be enough seating. For instance, tables of four were taken by groups of two. The tables had been pushed together to accommodate four, Axum should split them to accommodate two groups of two. I love the kid area in the back with books, toys, games and a small TV. However, lots of people were standing around waiting for someone to leave so they could sit. My caramel brulee latte was huge and looked lovely (see picture), but wasn't five star worthy. It just didn't have the right balance of bitter and sweet. The employees were friendly enough but appeared overwhelmed by the Saturday morning rush. I love the fact that 100% of their profits are given away to "serve the world". THIS is coffee you can feel good about. Another negative is that the restrooms are located outside and upstairs. Not great when you are wearing cycling shoes or have a toddler- or both! read more

Quality coffee without any sort of pretentiousness. I traveled an hour across town to check Axum out and was not disappointed. I ordered an iced soy latte and it was on point. I loved the espresso. My only complaint is that the environment created inside is a a little too country for my liking. I guess that is what's expected in Winter Garden. The people sippin' coffee inside were of all age groups. If you have been wanting to check out a quality coffee joint but have been scared that you will feel out of place, this is a great shop to start at. The baristas were friendly as well. Great location, nice shop, the coffee was ok. Not great. The staff was not very friendly. Even if things are not ideal, a welcoming staff member with a smile goes a long way. The bagel that I had was very good. I would go back for a bagel. Willing to try again since this shop is in my neighborhood and I am new to town. It is my hope that when anyone on the staff or in management reads this that they will take a serious look at the friendliness of their staff because that just turned the experience sour for me. Also please note that this company goes on and on about how wonderful their coffee is and it is actually extremely bitter. Something to pay attention to while you are doing your marketing. So happy that I live so close to this coffee gem! They make a mean blended ANYTHING lol! I love that they have the option to turn many of their lattes into a blended version. For those who haven't tried it, it's basically a cold frozen drink that has been blended in the blender so it's more of a frothy/slurpee type of consistency. It's perfect for a hot day where you need to cool off with a cold drink while strolling around the beautiful downtown Winter Garden. The coffee shop has the best spot in town, right in the middle of the downtown busyness, with a bench and about 6 or so outdoor tables. However, my favorite thing about this shop is that 100% of its profit goes to charity!! Now that is pretty damn sweet. My friend and I went rollerblading on the West Orange Trail and needed a refreshment afterwards! I've always seen Axum and thought it looked very trendy/hipster from the outside. The inside definitely has that same vibe. I got water and a strawberry smoothie. The smoothie was really good and a nice pick-me up post work-out. Additionally, there was plenty of outdoor seating since we did not want to be inside because of COVID. Overall, pretty good. read more

Good place to stop for coffee, tea or snack. Room to sit inside or out. Coffee & assorted coffee drinks are tasty & as good as you can get anywhere. The Expresso is perfect. As great as this place is a lot of times you will have long lines so not a place to stop if you are in a big hurry. The pastries are good but again most folks come for the coffee. There are some other food but if you are really Hungry you may want to opt for another place to eat & then come here for coffee or a little desert. read more
