We were traveling through the Winter Garden area and our son-in-law spotted this coffee shop so we stopped in. We all loved this coffee shop!!! I ordered a small latte with macadamia milk. That was the first time for that. I never heard of adding macadamia milk to a latte so I said yes. I normally try and get almond milk with my latte. They said they didn't carrying it but recommended the macadamia milk instead. Yes I "loved it"!!!! I like it better than almond now! Everyone was so nice and friendly. We sat on the couch and relaxed and had our coffee and talked with those around us. Definitely next time we are in this area we will be back. We are usually in the Winter Garden / Clermont area from Jacksonville at least every other month.visiting. I ordered the blueberry matcha lemonade, which was refreshing with the perfect balance of sweet and tart. As someone who isn't usually a big matcha fan, I appreciated that the matcha flavor was subtle and complemented the blueberry well. I also tried the gluten-free chocolate chip banana muffin. It was moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet, pairing perfectly with my drink. My friends enjoyed their coffees as well, and we loved the cute cups they came in. One of my favorite parts of the visit was the shop connected to the café. I love a good local coffee place. Located in Oakland, it's in a renovated house. There's onsite parking. It's so cozy inside. I got one of the seasonal lattes the Fluffer Nutter and a Dolly cookie bar. The bar was chewy and chocolate. The latte was refreshing. It's such a calm environment. Everyone was so sweet. They also have hot food service but I didn't have time this visit to get some. I will be back to try some different items later. read more

Wow! This is truly a hidden gem in downtown Winter Garden, I love stopping by for their unique matcha, coffees and teas. The outside is a beautiful setting and perfect for cuddling up with a good book to read for a bit in the gazebo. I would say I've never been surprised to see a shop live up to its name. Prairie House Coffee has been on my list since spotting it on a friend's social. I didn't think the cabin-esqe coffee shop would be here in Florida. But surprisingly it's a lot closer than I thought. Prairie House is in Oakland but listen whether you are a Four Corners pal or Orlando area pal, this is not that far. It's about 30 minutes and just past the Costco in Clermont. Unlike my normal trek to Orlando for coffee shops, this spot is much closer (30 minutes vs the usually 45-50 minutes) and less traffic and tolls. I tried this spot with a friend who has the absolute opposite taste in coffee and tea than I did. I grabbed a matcha that was holiday themed with white chocolate and mint. And a gluten free banana loaf. My friend grabbed an iced latte and a muffin. First as a newly gluten sensitive girl, this place makes good food from scratch that fits to a variety of dietary restrictions. The muffin was delicious. And not super moist but not bone dry either. Just like my loaf. I'm not sure how they made it but it was a great treat. Especially knowing that many spots don't have gluten free options especially not cafes. Like I mentioned in the beginning, prairie house lives up to its name. I actually was shocked when I walked into the giant shop plus gift shop in the back. It was too cold to sit outside and plus, I was working with my laptop that day with a friend. I felt like I was transported back to Minnesota or somewhere in the midwest. There are several coffee shops there that have similar cozy and wooden designs. It matches thy winter aesthetics of the chilly Midwest rather than here in the Summery vibes of Florida. Its cozy layout is also its one downside. As big as the sitting area is (it's not that big), it's so cramped in there and easily fills up. During my time at the shop as I waited for my friend, I saw two large groups of families come in and essentially take up the one shop. They didn't come at the same time. It was just unfortunate that it was back to back. I luckily had secured a spot for my friend and I on a large communal table by an outlet otherwise, we would have really been in trouble if we needed any a power source. Overall, it's a cute shop that belongs up in the Midwest rather than Florida but it's definitely worth the drive. read more

Been for a party and never got to try it out when it was open. Came for coffee and 2 sandwiches. When I ordered, the cashier asked for my name. I wasn't offered a receipt so, I said, "do we wait here or..?" And she said, " no we will call your name when it's ready." So, we walked a few feet to the Indoor space and it was full, so we sat outside. We waited about 8 mins and I was about to go inside and someone came out asking for me. I met her, grabbed my sandwiches and then asked about the 2 coffees. She said she didn't know and I'd need to go inside. The 2 sandwhiches were mislabeled so my friend and I had to swap but, that was an easy fix. The coffees didn't have my name on it and mine weren't there. One of the baristas asked me what I got, and she said, " well one of those is made right there, so just grab that one and we will make you a cortado. So, I had to wait for that one. After that, we sat under the oak tree and that was nice. They offer additional parking across the street. Cute little spot. The Sandwhich was like a pancake arepa with cheeses. Different for sure. Pulled up and we parked on the grass across the street, there were about 10+ spots in the parking lot but they were full. This is a cozy coffee shop with warm, wooden (some plastic that look wooden but still cute) accents, the inviting aroma of freshly roasted beans + spices filling the air, comfortable tables tucked into quiet corners, and a low hum of conversation, providing the perfect spot to curl up with a good book (they have a small library) and a steaming cup of you coffee/tea! What a wonderful way to start the new year. The prices are not outrageous, my "Taste of Autumn - A classic fan favourite at Prairie House! We brought it in for fall and never took it off was $6.10" and my husband's "Healer - their own turmeric latte with organic spices, organic black pepper (for better health)" $5.63. Both tasty but a bit on the sweet side, if you don't like it sweet, ask for less ;) A shop is connected to the coffee shop selling, handmade hats + scarves, plus Christmas ornaments, garden accessories, flower arrangements and more. Probably one of my top five favorite coffee shops in Central Florida. I've basically tried everything on the menu from their turmeric latte to their seasonals and nothing has ever disappointed. Their baked goods being made with healthy ingredients is just the icing on the cake.. the decor on the inside is so freaking cute and it feels all warm and cozy just like you would want your coffee. What a fun find! Wife is GF so this place came up on list. Nice outside are with plenty of tables. Nice indoor area with games and tables. Food was fantastic! This coffee shop is the true meaning of local and such a hidden gem! The inside is eclectic and cozy. They have a fresh water station as well as an actual area to recycle. There is a corner for local merchandise as well. The outdoor area is my favorite, with plenty of seating and a pretty big grassy area that my one year old son had a blast running around in. This time of year they even had a mini pumpkin patch, and there are all kinds of flowers and plants for sale too. Let's talk about the coffee. Everything is freshly brewed, freshly made, local, and organic. They make all of their own spices, and really value themselves on natural ingredients and natural sugars. The coffee speaks for itself! I ordered the pumpkin spice latte, and while not being very pumpkin forward, it featured a lot of those warm fall spices. My only comment would be that it is a bit pricey. $7 later for a small-sized coffee. When I think about the quality of ingredients though, I can't be mad about paying that much. The Cutest Place!! This old historic house is the perfect little coffee spot. They have plenty of coffee, tea and food options to choose from - all made from good organic ingredients. We tried the chai tea latte, pumpkin spice latte and a Classic Breakfast Sandwich. There is outdoor or indoor seating and the vibes and decor is perfect and cozy + aesthetically pleasing. There is also a cute gift shop and a gazebo out back which was full of pumpkins from the pumpkin patch for the fall season right now. Service was great and staff was very friendly! The atmosphere here is amazing. Quiet, relaxing, not crowded. Today I got a kombucha in a can that cost eight dollars. And then I got some gluten-free avocado toast that was good and it cost 12 something. So I spent 20 bucks on a can of kombucha and a couple of pieces of avocado toast. It is overpriced like the other reviewers say. The service was OK. Along with coffee they serve light bites and few sweet treats. There is a great outdoor area with comfortable seating. There are big beautiful trees providing shade. I was pretty shocked that a coffee shop opened up in such a little tucked away place. It's a very cute place, and the coffee that we had was very good. I had the " it My Gumdrop buttons," and my wife had the "nutcracker." Both were seasonal drinks, and I'm eager to try their regular selection when we return. I had the Avo (aka avocado toast) and my wife had the grilled cheese. Both were delicious. I'm not 100% sure what kind of bread they used, but it's slightly sweet, and it complimented both my Avo and her grilled cheese. This place hit all the warm spots. I ordered a Cafe Con Leche and while not 100% authentic it was exactly what I was looking for. The owner explained they use sweetened condensed milk instead of the brown sugar. Creamy, strong and fresh. Bravo from the resident Cuban in the area. I normally get a sugar headache from the brown sugar and got nothing after this. Price is on point and better than the Star*****. Everyone was super friendly, and informative. The most beautiful, peaceful coffee shop located in Oakland, FL. The shop is located only about 2 miles from downtown Winter Garden, but you'll feel like you're at a quaint, country farmhouse. The outdoor seating area has beautiful trees all around. I was pleasantly surprised to see a couple of small shops with cute gifts and home items to buy when I walked in. Prairie House rotates through different espresso beans from different roasters. On the day I visited, they were using Blue Boy by Methodical coffee, which was delicious. They have a dedicated gluten free kitchen, serving hot breakfast items and bakery treats like cookies. The Classic Breakfast sandwich was fantastic. The GF bread was soft, similar in flavor and texture to an arepa. The icing on the cake was that Valee from 'Imi Ola Massage was there offering her chair massage service outside. I hope that this is offered here frequently because it was such a peaceful setting for a quick massage. read more
