I like this place for the Margarita's they did an excellent job. Food was just ok but we've only been there once so I'd be willing to give the food another shot. The service was only average too. The four star rating was earned on the back of the margaritas! If we hadn't ordered those, this place would only be a 3 star experience. We'll definitely be back, but will for sure be just sitting at the bar and trying the appetizers. :) read more

Food was good, liked the flavor of Margaritas but not much alcohol in it. Service not great! Waited a whole to be acknowledged to be seated and was told to sit anywhere. Took drink order and it took a while to get drinks. Wanted a 2nd drink and had to wait another 10 minutes or so did waitress to come check on us. Food came out quick and was really good, fresh & hot! The food is not very good. The cheese dip super runny and lacks flavor. The chips tasted like they were cooked in oil that needs to changed I had fajita bronco, the six shrimp and peppers and onions were ok. The chicken and steak was very dry. My husband's steak burrito had the texture very watery cheese with the very dry steak. The service was ok. read more

This was not good at all. Got there at 6 in the evening. Only one other table there. Husband ordered steak ranchero and it was too tough to eat. Literally. Sent it back and ordered a taco plate. She brought out 3 tacos. No rice no beans. Okay. Tacos were okay. I ordered fajitas and they were not very good. Didn't seem to have much flavor to them. Service seemed exceptionally slow with no more business than they had. Will not go back However, when I checked out they only charged for one meal. Not the Long Island Iced tea or his tacos. I love Mexican food so decided to try this place while up in Dayton. It was mid afternoon, so pretty quiet. I ordered the lunch steak fajitas. My server was friendly and prompt. The chips had a different flavor to them. I still can't decide if they were a bit stale, or maybe cooked in a different oil. Either way, not the best. Salsa was good. I ordered my dish without beans and rice, so they gave me a little extra salad. Fajitas were ok, nothing to write home about, but not bad. I had asked for a side of shredded cheese. To my surprise, when the bill came, that little dish of cheese was $2.50! Now mind you my lunch fajitas were only $6.50. So all in all, I really can't go above 3 stars. They couldn't really step up their game with the chips as well as flavor throughout their dish. I will give it another go at some point and choose another option. Will re evaluate then. read more

I ate here for the first time last night. It was super busy and loud, which in my opinion is a good sign. It took awhile for our food to come out but when it did, it was very hot and fresh! Very good Mexican food and the staff was polite. I would definitely eat here again. read more

My husband is Mexican, and I do mean born and raised in Mexico Mexican. He was terribly upset at the quality of the food here- no flavor, not authentic at all. And just when I thought he couldn't be more upset, I found a hair in my food! I've gone here a couple times, while I was home visiting my family for the Holidays. For those of you who are not familiar with Dayton Tennessee it a small town in between Chattanooga and Knoxville. Moreover, if don't have relatives in Dayton you probably will never visit this little town, that desperately needs some quality restaurants. However, if for whatever reason you find yourself in Dayton and simply can't stomach any more fried country cooking; this is a pretty decent option. The ambience is nothing spectacular it's a relatively clean bar like atmosphere with booths & tables; it's really just that simple. One of the problems (at least as I see it) in small southern towns like this, people (those eating at the establishment) will stare at you it they don't recognize you and/or you don't have a thick southern accent, this was not the case at Ayala. The servers are fairly attentive, but seem to only speak limited English. The orders have always come out correct and that's what's really important. The food consists of standard Mexican dishes such as, Tacos, Burritos and other items you would typically expect to find. The dishes are served in generous portions and are both filling and somewhat tasty. Don't get me wrong if you're some super foodie or really looking to be wowed, it's not going to happen. However, if you're in the greater Chattanooga area (or especially Dayton) and just want some decent Mexican Ayala will get the job done. read more

Just fair. That is the best I can describe the food. The building is huge so I expected a large crowd but there were few families inside. Considering the very small crowds, the service should have been better. My husband got up & refilled his tea because our waitress disappeared. The food was not much more impressive. The staff here are wonderful. The food is fresh and tasty. You can't go wrong with the happy hour drink specials. The 2 for 1 house margaritas are made fresh as you order them. The fajitas are on point, the rice is yummy, the tamales are totally comfort food status. Really, I can't say enough good things about this place. read more
