I've been to possibly hundreds of middle eastern restaurants and Ayat has easily won the title of my favorite. The food is top notch (the hardest part was picking what to order!), the service is amazing (everyone was so friendly and attentive), the ambiance was beautiful and warm (not to mention - this is the only restaurant i've been to with bidets?) - I could not recommend Ayat more, for dining in or taking out. a welcoming, delicious addition to brooklyn. Lastly, I feel the need to say that as a visibly jewish LGBTQ person, they couldn't have been kinder or friendlier to me, so anyone saying otherwise is LYING!!! read more

This place is fantastic!! The food is stunning with generous portions and most importantly DELICIOUS! Our server was so sweet and attentive and it seemed she was dealing with everyone so props to her. I really can't wait to go back as this location has plenty of seating and it's easy to get to. For the 2 of us, our bill was under $60 which is a score for date night :) the roof is beautiful especially during these warm summer nights. I want to try the whole menu! It's a shame when we went they were out of the tahini ice cream but I'll return to try the desserts. read more

What a good time. Except the 20% mandatory tip added to the bill. What has NYC dining become? Food is delicious and the plating is on par with the casual dining. I would say if they use real table cloth. Then I will be amazed with what this place and IC had to offer especially for PPP on the meal. We got the drink, meal for 2 and two appetizers which is plenty for 2 of us and a lunch to take home. I will say the portion is big but filled with rice and bread. It's better than some place that charges $8 for a small plate of rice. Definitely try the lemonade as it's not too sweet and very refreshing. I love the layout but if you expect to get some quiet dining, this isn't very good for that. You can hear every table. It's more of a casual place for friends and family. I can't wait for a warm day for their outdoor to be available. We have the enclosed upstairs which is very warm and comfortable. One of the servers doesn't speak English well but got our order 95% correctly. Also the service is fast. A bit too fast. We order and 5 minutes later, our food comes. I wish the meal is a little bit hotter as it's warm. They can use another minute on the grill. Too much filling. You don't need bread on rice seriously. Overall. It's a pleasant time read more

Food was absolutely beautiful and tasted nice, we had the hummus and chicken shawarma. The waiter brought olives and bread to the table for free. We ordered two diet Pepsis that were both delivered in cans with paper straws like we were at the gas station (no glasses of ice either). The food came out quickly, but made both of our stomachs hurt after a few bites. Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far, so that may be why the AC seemed to not be working in the building. My girlfriend's seat was stained with sweat when she got up to visit the restroom, I sat and watched others flap their shirts to try to cool off. The waiter was obviously busy, he seemed to be the only one working, but still insisted on moving at a snails pace while hanging out with the girls behind the counter, even after we asked for the check. We had to drink our water out of chipped ceramic pottery cups for a reason I'm understanding to be "aesthetics". The menu was great and large and even had some cool history about Palestine and the culture / cuisine. We probably won't come back to this restaurant. But sitting around and wondering what on earth was going on made my day. read more

The staff are really friendly. we got very lucky because they were trying some new menu items and we got to taste a Margarita Zatar pizza and it was seriously one of the best pies I have had in Brooklyn ever. Honestly I stopped in for lunch to show my support more than anything, but then I was treated like a queen and received the greatest shawarma plate of my life. I've eaten a lot of shawarma, I'm not new. Amazingly succulent. It's like other people have left unfairly poor reviews for political reasons, and somehow the restaurant has responded by making the food supernaturally good to try to average it out. I've been here a few times and the food is always fresh and delicious! Most recently, I had the vegan platter and it was so tasty and very filling, which is rare with vegan food imo. I am usually not a big falafel person but I actually love the falafels here. They're juicy and not at all dry. Normally I wouldn't eat meat but I know this place prays over the food, which is good with me. I trust you. I got the beef small yesterday. Today I just order the beef large. Stop by Ayat for dinner after not eating much for the day. We ordered the Fattat Lahma, which is big enough for two very hungry people or 3-4 moderately hungry people. The dish felt dry, so we asked for more garlic sauce. However, we're given a very small helping in comparison to the size of the meal. The sauce did help, while it lasted. The almonds in the dish were a nice touch and I appreciated crunch. The service was absent, as we had to walk up directly to the register to ask the hostess for help or additional water. The water is served in very small cups and they don't leave any on the table for self replenishment. read more

I've been to a few Ayat locations, and they're all incredible. This is probably my favorite Palestinian restaurant in the city. The ambiance is great, the place has an incredible mural, and the service was lovely. The falafel is fantastic, crunchy on the outside, moist and flavorful on the inside. Hummus is spicy and lovely. The kefta, man, the kefta is so good, as is the rice that accompanies it. A STRONG recommendation for this restaurant, as well as all Ayat locations. read more

The staff is very friendly and quick. I got the mix shawarma, some hummus, and two glasses of limonona. They were all delicious. The mix shawarma was extremely filling. Pretty mediocre to be brief. Specifying that this was the 36st location to my party, this location did not feel like the Ayat restaurant I had heard rave reviews about. They do not serve alcohol which was a disappointment, but when the food came out there were no utensils for serving these massive platters. The chicken maqloubah was a little dry and with one big piece of chicken for two, it wasn't the easiest to share with butter knives that don't cut.
