Nabila's feels like a visit to your hip Lebanese aunt's kitchen in Brooklyn. The interior is bright and airy with tons of natural light and feels welcoming for a meal any time of the day. Nabila's does a great job at balancing upscale dining with casual grub, so overall a perfect spot when wanting to hit the town without a white table cloth. You can see most of the dishes on the menu in their Cruset-esque pots sitting at the front of the restaurant, which during my first visit felt more like a dig inn experience but I digress. There is waited table service so not actually an elevated middle eastern dig inn if you don't want it to be. The menu itself feels perfectly edited and purposeful where everything is meant to be shared. We started off with the mouhamara dip which was pleasantly chunky with the signature flavors of pine nuts, molasses, and honey permeating throughout. The pita was served steaming hot and was the perfect fluffy vehicle for our appetizing dip. Our zero proof drinks (sumac / zaatar lemonades) were absolutely delicious and refreshing. I'm inspired to make these at home. The fattoush salad was also delightfully pleasant with its vinegar dressing and fresh vegetables and crispy toasted pita chips tossed in. It quickly became a favorite and one of the larger dishes we ordered. The fatayer were surprisingly soft and delicate though SO delicious, I could've ordered another round for the table. The sheesh barak were definitely a table favorite as well. I was expecting slightly bigger dumplings, though they tasted incredible and the minty yogurt sauce was the perfect creamy dip to pair with pretty much everything we already had at the table (I combined it with the rice and YUM). I could see myself coming back here and trying more of the menu. We left perfectly full and not over stuffed, which maybe means we didn't order enough by Lebanese culture standards, so just a reason to return! read more

Food here is excellent 10/10. Coming from a Lebanese background it's authentic and true to taste. It's rare to find a tasty kibbeh but Nabila's doesn't disappoint. The service was also great with really nice staff. It would be great if they put some more love into the decor and aesthetic. They also don't have a liquor license which seems be out of their control but hopefully they get one soon as proper cocktails would be a great complement to this delicious food. read more

Nabila's is an especially inviting Lebanese restaurant in Cobble Hill that made me forget for a second that it's just a neighborhood bistro. There were some tasty items, but overall it was not worth the trip from Williamsburg. The favorite of the evening was without a doubt the batata harra. The potatoes were perfectly textured and well seasoned. While overall I much prefer Huda for Lebanese fare in Brooklyn, this dish was better done here. The cold mezze were all pretty bland and didn't leave much of an impression despite a healthy pouring of olive oil. The fattoush was fine - I do wish they had some sort of fatteh on the menu as well. If I have a hankering for arak in the neighborhood, I might stop in again for a snack. read more

My friends and I were looking to try something new in Cobble Hill and stumbled on this spot offering a different kind of cuisine, so we made a 2:45 PM Sunday reservation. Here's where things went sideways: the kitchen closes at 3, so why are they taking 2:45 reservations? We literally had to order everything within 15 seconds -- not exactly the relaxed weekend brunch vibe I was hoping for. We started with the labneh and eggplant spreads -- they were fine but a little too acidic, missing that rich, garlicky, olive-oil vibe I was expecting. Then came the mini dumplings, which were emphasis on mini -- like, smaller than bite-sized -- and $3.50 per piece, so not really worth it or shareable. For our main, we shared the chicken and rice, which was just... okay. The ground beef was a bit dry and the rice didn't really pop flavor-wise. We tried to end on a sweet note with the kunafa, but that turned into another disappointment -- the phyllo was so hard it needed a knife, the cheese wasn't melted, and while I appreciated the hint of rosewater and pistachios, it just wasn't enough to save the dish. Honestly, I wanted to like this place -- the concept is cool, and it's nice seeing this kind of cuisine in Cobble Hill -- but the whole experience felt rushed, uneven, and underwhelming. 4.5/5! Wow this place was surprisingly good! I'll definitely be back. Def recommend the eggplant! I couldve had 10 more plates of that - super umami and rich in flavor without being heavy. The salad was delicious but started to get really tart towards the end. Crispy and cold salad that came with a delicious crunchy zataar-like pita topping dressed with a very vinegar-forward dressing. I love me my vinegar but as I mentioned, it got really tart towards the end but complemented the fish well - glad we kept that on the table along with the entree. We opted for the fish special (dorado) which was delicious(!) except there were moments when the pine nuts really overpowered everything else. The waitress mentioned it'd be spicy but I thought was more spice-ful, if that makes sense. The potatoes it came with was sooooo good! It had a layer akin to potato skins and the inside was super fluffy. We asked for ketchup knowing it'd be a stretch at a restaurant such as this and they didn't have it but weren't snooty about it at all - which we really appreciated. Service was fast and friendly! will def be coming back this summer and hope to snag one of the beautiful outdoor seats! Lovely neighborhood spot with some delicious fare. Came here on a Monday night with a friend and no reservations. Arriving at around 7:30pm most of the tables were full but we were still able to be seated. There's a front area and a back-- originally, they tried to seat us at an awkward 2 person right by the front door, but when we requested a different table, brought us to the back. We opted to share 3 dishes and it ended up being plenty with us boxing up more than half of the final dish to take home. The dishes were: - Mouhamara: Solid dip to start with and the pita that accompanied it was good as well. Any pita beyond 1 does cost extra. - Fattoush: This salad was so good! If you're craving some bright, leafy greens this is the dish. Would order again. - Yakhnet Sabanegh: It was really tasty but I would say portion-wise it felt a little smaller than I would have hoped for the price. I would be borderline on ordering it again-- it was yummy but also I feel like it could be fun to try something different. I also got a red wine to go along with my food and appreciated how the server let me try two different ones before deciding on my glass. I would definitely say that it's more busy earlier in the night as by the time we left at around 9 pm it has mostly cleared out. We went during a warm summer evening. We sat in the front by the entrance which was poorly air conditioned which made dining very sweaty. We were a group of six. We shared the standard dips, the beef kibbeh, the eggplant, fattoush, batata harrah, and koussa. Everything tasted fresh with a very balanced flavor. We enjoyed the 2 desserts we ordered which were the knafeh ashta and atayef ashta. We would come again but when it's not so hot out or asked to be seated not by the front which is where there is the open kitchen. In terms of service, they were very basic. The biggest highlight was the fattoush, the dressing was perfectly acidic and the salad was fresh and unique. I'd just come back for this alone. The chicken and rice was great... would have maybe liked just a little more chicken on this one but the skin and chicken was cooked perfectly with the rice and almond shavings as a nice crunch. Absolutely fabulous! We ordered way too much food but everything was really good. Like other reviewers, the potatoes are amazing. Crunchy and flavorful. So good I keep dreaming about them. I also saw reviewers loved the fatoosh salad, which was such a nice refreshing addition to the meal. Nice and flavorful. The veg kibbeh was a little too greasy for me but it was also flavorful and tasty. Amazing hummus and fresh pita. My partner loved the chicken! Said it was one of the best chickens he's ever had! Said the rice with it was a bit meh but the chicken itself was crispy and moist and tasty. Fast service. Nice variety of drinks. Average Brooklyn prices. We were seated quickly as a walk-in on a Monday night. The space is well decorated and you are met with the front kitchen as soon as you walk in the door. We had the meal family style as recommend (excluding the bites) Sambousik. All three of us ordered one of these delicious single bites... seriously who cannot love a well seasoned bread pocket with a tangy cheese blend of herbs, feta, and Armenian string cheese (mozzarella like in texture in solely my opinion). I could have single handed my eaten a dozen by myself, but as I've gotten older I can resist my gluttony better. Cucumber salad. This dish was simple yet complete and full of flavor! The sauce on the bottom who full of flavor that could double as a dipping sauce for the pita bread. Fatteh Eggplant, Sheesh Barak, Rice Hashwi. Each of these dishes were well prepared and delicious to eat! The pita chips under the eggplant were small and delicate making it a great base (not too carby/filling) making the soft stew of eggplant and flavors bursting with every bite. Both of the other entrees were delicious in flavor as well; all the food was well seasoned. OMG - We love this place! It's essentially tapas that can be shared with friends and family so I brought cousins here after our first visit because I insisted they try. And they were equally smitten. I'd recommend getting several small and larger plates -- and reordering more once you have a sense of what you enjoyed most. My two favorite items are the potatoes which I'd describe as melt in your mouth fabulous -- and the garlic spread which comes with the chicken. To be honest though the servers are engaging, everything on the menu is write-home amazing, and there is outdoor as well as indoor seating. My neighbor even comes here to do take out for desserts. What a lovely place, the drinks were amazing the food delicious the wait stuff and host, generous and kind! BUT- and I I hope I can say this loud enough for everyone in the back to hear - PLEASE STOP WITH THE FABULOSO CLEANING DURING SERVICE! The smell is so particular and so un appetizing. I realize you have to clean things -tabletop, etc., but perhaps there is an unscented cleaner you could use, or a more mild and less identifiable smell! The whole restaurant kind of reeks of it. Short review: Get the batata harra. Get any dessert as they are all good. Small portions of pretty good food in general. Would go often for desserts if they weren't open only for dinner for some reason. I've been to this interesting Lebanese restaurant twice. The first time I only had a dessert while the other time I had a full meal. They have an interesting concept where a lot of this stuff is already prepared and it almost feels like a very fancy cafeteria. I would say that compared to other spots, some of the mezze I had could definitely use a bit more spice or flavor but if you're looking for a light refined version of Lebanese food that isn't overwhelmingly rich; it's a good spot. It's also quite a good spot for people who have allergies as they clearly label everything. In general, I would say that the food is for sharing. The mezzes for instance are priced per piece. For drinks, they have a nice selection of Lebanese wines but I went with a BKE kombucha as they surprisingly had a limited strawberry rhubarb version which was $5s and tasty. The service is friendly and I believe I also met one of the owners who also seemed very nice. Mezze And Other Appetizers: Batata Harrah ($10-) Confit & fried potatoes, crushed red pepper, garlic, cilantro This was the newest thing added to the menu and it was by far my favorite thing along with the desserts. The potatoes were a nice mix of crisp and soft and the red pepper had a wonderful spice kick that wasn't overwhelming. Beef Kibbeh ($3-) Bulgur, allspice, cinnamon, and pine nuts Nice tiny version of this. Nice crisp outside from the bulgur. A bit sweet but I tend to find this to be the case with most Lebanese versions of kibbeh. I have had better but it was still good. Sfeeha ($2.50-) Seasoned beef, tomatoes, green pepper, cayenne Also spelled Sfiha, I actually liked how small it was as I find the larger ones to be almost overly sweet. It did lack a crunch however but this was because usually this also contains pine nuts just like the kibbeh. Alright. Main: Kibbeh Sanieh Vegetarian ($15-) Baked, sliced, and served with cabbage salad & yogurt sauce Usually this dish has beef or lamb but this is a good option for vegetarians among the sea of good options here. Good texture with the yogurt sauce adding some good sourness and the Cabbage adding some crunch. I do hope they add the more traditional beef or lamb version as it was definitely missing that extra flavor I associate with this idsh. If they added a meat version, I would definitely order this along with the batata harrah and be very happy with my meal. Desserts: Atayef Ashta ($4.50-) Pastry stuffed with Lebanese custard, fried & tossed in attar This was a delicious version of this dish. Perfectly fried and not overly sweet. Good version of ashta; a custard that I am quite familiar with. I guess my only complaint would be that there isn't really enough pistachios on top but that's more of a garnish anyway. Knafeh Ashta $9 (V NF-) Shredded fillo with Lebanese custard, baked & topped with attar I in general prefer the Lebanese and Palestinian versions of this widely varied dish and they make a nice version here. I am assuming they heat it there but this was what I ordered when I took out once. Nice custard as before and a good texture to the knafeh/kunefe/insert name here. Would recommend as well. Food is solid but a bit pricey for the atmosphere. I can see the good intentions with one of the appetizers, the main to an extent, and the dessert, but it is still a little bit too much. read more

This place has a really cute ambiance for a relaxed meal (I say relaxed because you shouldn't dine in if you're in a hurry--service is on the slower side). The concept is interesting because you get seated by the host first, then go to the front counter to order your food. Everything has been prepared already and is just sitting behind the counter. Then, after you pay, the servers slowly bring out the things you've ordered to your table. The prices look great at first but the portions are definitely on the small side. 2 of us spent around $30 each for a filling meal. We tried all of the small bites ($2-$2.50). I liked that all of them had their own unique flavor profiles, but I would have liked them more if they were warm. I appreciated that the kibbeh wasn't too greasy. We also got the sheesh barak ($15) which were so tiny! I saw pictures of them online and did not expect them to be smaller than 1 inch in diameter. I loved the yogurt sauce they came with though, which was herby and refreshingly tart. The freekeh & lamb ($21) was a pretty big portion but I was not a fan. The grain was a bit too mushy for my liking and the lamb, while tender, didn't have very much flavor to it. Don't skip the dessert here! We tried the knafeh ashta ($7) and atayef ashta ($3). The pastry was nice and crispy while the custard filling wasn't too overwhelmingly sweet. If I'm in the area and in the mood for a light snack, I could see myself stopping by for some of the small bites or their desserts. read more

We tried all the small bites as well! Would recommend ordering one small bite for every duo in your group bc we shared each small bite between four so the bites were extra small. For mains, we ordered the okra and lentil dishes and both were delicious. We ordered all the desserts, and I really liked the shredded noodle one. The menu is super cool! The food here is good. The team is very friendly. The space is beautiful. I want to like this place. But today, my partner and I had dinner here. And it did not work out. There was a 20 people table behind us. The waiters were overwhelmed. They served two small appetizers, and only after almost an hour we got something else. Then a long wait for the next course, and a long wait again. Then the acoustics. Being a nice space, it reflects all the sound. It was a relief to leave. Fist time I came here I loved it. But after a while, it seems that crucial aspects of what makes a restaurant a place you want to go, might not be happening here any more. Maybe it was just a bad day. read more

A few different options with products mostly being sourced from Lebanon. We started with the roasted pepper and the roasted eggplant dips. Served with piping hot pita, both dips topped with some olive oil and pomegranate seeds. We liked both a lot. Dips were served with their mezzes and small bites. We each had a spinach filled pastry which was buttery and savory. We a lentil based dish and these string potato cubes which were very good and interesting. For our main entree we shared slow cooked spinach and ground lamb served over basmati rice. Rich yet straightforward flavor. Was a quintessential comfort food in my opinion. Desserts looked incredible and we couldn't resist. We had the kunefe, a couple Turkish delights, and pastry filled with cheese. I have dined on much Lebanese food over the years and generally it has been abundant so I was shocked by the small servings which consisted mainly of pilaf/rice but insignificant portions of lamb or chicken. I got the atayef ashta to go and enjoyed it. It's my first time trying it so I don't have anything else to compare it to, but it wasn't too sweet and had a nice fried crispy texture. It's pricy for what it is which is like a chic cafeteria with pre-prepared foods. Some dishes are better than others. The hummus was pretty generic. I think Sahadi's hummus is better frankly. The Hashwi & Chicken would have been good (the flavors were all there) but the chicken was way too dry--thank goodness for the garlic sauce that provided a boost of moisture and some additional flavor layer. The Yakhnet Sabanegh was better but the portion was too small. Don't order the teas. It's just a tea bag and not fresh mint. I'd come back for a casual quick lunch but not for dinner. read more

It's a Lebanese, family-owned business with the owners often in the shop. We ordered about every vegetarian option on the menu, and we loved it! One person said it was the best hummus they ever had in their life. Couscous and Tabouleh - dishes that we've all had many times, but this place really brought a very commonly eaten dish to life!
