It was at one time a good salon. It is now run down and looking outdated. They always have the lighrs turned off where they do manicures so you can not see colours properly. Tina's husband is lazy arrogant and rude. He treats the staff terribly while he sits at the front watching movies and eating. With the exception of sweet Nancy, the staff turnover is constant. As owner perhaps Bac could use his time cleaning up the salon. Waterfall, with his son"s name, have not working in years, wallpaper is peeling off the walls and chair for clients are old. I didn't really find him rude but he was a little unprofessional..talking in his own language very loud..felt like he was telling the laddies to hurry up. I don't know wether that was the reason or something else but the girl who was doing my UV-gel ombre new set got very nervous suddenly and just finished real quick and did a horrible job. Every nail looks different.near the cuticle you can see some lunula (half-moon) and some are fully covered. The top and sides of my nails are uneven. (see pictures) When I showed them to my friends, they thought I did it by myself at home in the dark! So I only went here because of the 25% discount but now I have to re-do my nails, so absolutely not worth it!! Not only was the design absolutely nothing I asked for, when I expressed about the shape, weight and design after I had paid, the manager didn't want to know me, absolutely refused to even walk up to the door to me, dismissed me, interrupted me and refused to give me my refund and didn't want to know or care about how shitty of a job his worker had done. Not sure what more a customer can do then show the EXACT photo of everything they want and even correcting the worker as they continue to do your nails and even cut their customers. To make things worse after phoning them again, they hung up!!! I have a love hate relationship with this salon. I have been going since it opened. They have a Ton of colours, I always get gel and full colour. If I get one of the women my nails are durable but uneven. It's a very hit and miss for me. Sometimes I love the nails and other times they are too thin, too thick, or you can see through the colour. I love that they fix your nails for free if there is a problem. And I love the location. Ok here's the kicker though... The owner (the man there) is so rude to me, cuts me, burns me, and generally acts like I don't exist But if a beautiful woman walks in he is all charm urgh. He yells at me to grab a chair like I'm in a rodeo and not a spa and never gives me time to pick my colour (even if I show up early for my appointment). Also he is extremely vulgar. Once he even told me I wished I had a penis! Seriously I just want to relax for an hour and have pretty nails. My friend went here to get a simple acrylics nail for the start of school. The prices she was told on their advertisement was 35$ for acrylics and 5$ for a design. The price went up too 70$ when she showed the very simple design she wanted (a simple pink and two flowers on one finger) she tried to reason with the very rude employees. eventually the owner talked to her and reasoned, they offered to let her get the design portion for free (the two flowers) and only pay 55$. The outcome of the nails was worth 25$ not even. The flowers were wonky and uneven and there was nothing special about it. Do not recommend, scam. read more

By far my most fav place to get my pedicures done!!! No matter who you get to do your pedicure they ALWAYS make sure your feet look AH-mazing once done! This business recently opened up in Royal Oak and I was very glad for it. The space is large, clean and there were enough employees working to accommodate my walk-in on a bleary, snowy weekday. I went in for a pedi and I have had my share in this city. Some places I will not go back to to various reasons. I would possibly return to this "spa" but I will make a few pointers: The massage chairs are great and the ladies seem well trained and speak/understand English. I did not see any of the chatter about any customers by staff as sometimes you see or feel in other places. Parking is free but limited in this new lot that is full of construction vehicles but this should die down once the whole plaza is up and running. My pedi spa worker was very nice but very strong to the point of being rough. I was not as relaxed as I could have been, was on the edge of my seat as she was hurting me throughout. I did not want to hurt her feelings or make a big deal of it so I just kept reminding her that I had sensitive feet as she kept asking me if I was ok. This did not ease her harsh filing, razoring, or leg scrub exfoliate treatment. OUCH! I left my normal, decent tip but I was sore from a too deep trim of one of my toenails. It has been a day and still hurts like hell. The owner is male, dresses in gym clothes and was eating something between appointments at the front desk where you pay. Point being - this is a very casual place. They will offer you a tea or water when you walk in. I had ordered a tea but never saw it! This is a first time review of this place so you can see for yourself should this spa suit your needs/location. Decided to try it despite the reviews because it is across the street from my house. They charge $5 more for a shellac polish change than Sunshine nails, but I am noticing that most places seem to be about $25. Sunshine is quite cheap being $20. I didn't have an appointment but they fit me in right away. They have the largest colour selection I have ever seen. They give you 5 rings stuffed full of the fake nail slides or whatever they are called. It is much nicer than trying to stare at a wall and pick a colour. The girl was quite slower than what I am used to, but in the end it looked great. Will be back to try other services. read more

I got acrylic nails done and when the nail tech was shaping the nails he cut my skin above my nail. It was very painful as he continued to sand the cut. I'm quite worried that it will get infected as it's a bit sore and inflamed. The nail tech himself was quite rude as well. This place has gone seriously down hill in the last few years. There are few good nail techs there. The turnover is rapid, so you never know what kind of job you will get done. The quality of nail service is low and minimalistic. They have eliminated some services that use to be regular, like the hand massage with creme after a manicure. I don't feel relaxed in there as the staff are openly stressed and rushing. The staff speak limited English and chatter amongst themselves, so rude. My biggest beef with the language barrier is they don't understand what you want so numerous times they have not done as I asked. The don't say hullo or good bye or please or thank you after paying, every time, every flipping time. They rush you for the color choice, like why, they have 15-20 minutes before they need to know the color. I dropped one of the sample rings one time and the guy was mad and rude to me. Ok the owner dude needs to rearrange his rude attitude, get off his butt and cell phone from that front desk chair and greet customers, maybe clean up a bit, the walls are filthy and the bathroom needs a scrub not a clean. First of all, their price list is not accurate. Be prepared for random charges as they see fit, that are not shown on the list. For example, their nail fills are listed for $25, but they don't list that shellac/gel polish (versus regular-polish) is extra. Most salons will list the more expensive of the two, and state in store that their regular polish is cheaper. The girls do a (pretty) great job at actually doing the nails. I have never had a shape that I was more happy with! The ladies were a little bit more standoffish than I am used to from nail technicians, but maybe I was just hoping for the same relationship I had with the women who used to do my nails before. I kept telling the girl I was not happy with my nails, and she continued to keep working. At the end, I looked at them and decided they were not worth the 50-some-dollars that they would cost and I told her so, and she looked to her owner (Boc Ho, who I speak on later) to have the conversation for her. I don't support women who don't take pride in their work and genuinely care for their customer's concerns, so this was really upsetting for me. They decided that she would change TWO nails for $15. I could get each and every nail's colour changed at my other salon for $10 lol. That is ridiculous, and it's another cost that they failed to list on their price list. On the positive end of things, their colour selection is incomparable. They had a bucket full of various colours that I had never seen in other salons! Of course, this is only if you're interested in paying $15 extra for shellac lol. Their regular-polish selection is weak and consists of maybe 40 nudes and a lime green, so good luck with that. However, the ladies lack skill in (or interest in doing) designs and I would definitely suggest going elsewhere if you're interested in something more decadent or wild than a simple colour. Boc Ho was the absolute creepiest person that I have ever encountered in the customer service industry. This man is aggressive, nosy, and arrogant. I have never been less interested in going back to a salon than I was after meeting him. The entire experience could have been manageable/decent (?) if this man was not the owner. He sits next to you, eating a Big Mac, yells on the phone, and then intervenes when you have any sort of issue with the quality of service being performed and tells you to basically pay for a whole new set of nails and leave. I hope the ladies find a new owner, as they deserve someone who does not make them look so bad. I used to love coming to this salon but it seems to have gone very downhill. The salon is not clean. I went for a pedicure and when the technician was done, she quickly scrubbed the tools she used on me under water, with no soap and then set them aside for the next person. I waited 30 minutes for the polish to dry, and the technician told me when they were dry, but when I got home the polish was completely ruined. I used the rest room before leaving and they had no hand soap available at the sink in the bathroom. Only lotion, and two of the staff members had used that washroom while I was there. I do not even want to go back to get my polish fixed, as I don't even want to think about the germs in that place. Won't be going back again, unfortunately. read more

My nails are very thin so I thought getting shellac on them would help them from splitting and cracking. It helped for the first couple of months, my nails grew and I was quite happy with them. Then they started to break off under the shellac. Each time I visited I tried to tell the nail technicians not to sand my nails because they were too thin but none of them spoke English well enough to understand me apparently. Now I'm left with very little of my nails left and they are split and cracked. I think it's important to be able to communicate with the nail techs in order to relay personal information. read more

I was very impressed with this nail salon. I came in mid afternoon hoping to get a mani/pedi done before class. When I arrived, I was taken to the pedicure area immediately. They also have a great selection of shellac and nail polish colours! After I sat down and had my feet soaking in the tub, one of the ladies offered me bottled water and turned the massage chair on for me. I relaxed while one lady did my pedicure and another lady did my manicure, at the same time. Usually when I get regular nail polish on my nails, it chips off the same day. Mine lasted for over a week, which never happens for me. My pretty pink shellac toes still look fabulous as well! I highly recommend this place. I went to get a shellac nail done and less then 3 days later the paint was chipping off and they did not hold up well. When I called in to have ask if I can get it fixed the man wanted to charge me $26 dollars to get 2 nails fixed. I paid that much to get a whole new set done. i walked in and it seemed ok at first as soon as she started filing it was vey rough. When she brought out the drill it was very painful. After this a guy came in and started talking to me and asking me what grade i was in he called me short and asked me how i knew to come here me and my friend were together and we said we saw the sign. The man came back over and grabbed my arm and told me they look nice both of them kept taking my phone to look at the image. It finally got to a point where he got very mad because the nail technician picked out an orange when i asked for pink he told me to go to this other lady who finished of my nails my first girl just stood there and watched thinking she was better. As soon as me and my friend were done i went up to pay. Before i let the first lady touch my nails i asked her if i could pay with my visa gift card and she said yes. Now as i was about to pay my first lady said they do not except this the one i asked at the start who said that they do. I asked her what do you want me to do this is all i have she was so rude and told me to call someone and that i could not leave i sat on there gross benches for thirty minutes waiting for my grandparents to come she stared at us the whole time. First time I went to the salon the owner made inappropriate sexual comments to my 65 year old mother! She was very uncomfortable! The manicure was pretty good and I was happy. The second time I went it was just terrible! I called and they said come for in and we will fix it.i I went over for the appointment. I was not happy with my shellac nails. The first time i came here it was a good experience but this time the woman doing my nails had a bad attitude. She was rushing and got mad when i told her to not file them too short. She also didn't paint them on the sides and from the top so its not even and when i would mention something that i preferred she would become angrier and rougher with the nails. She also forgot to put on the top coat on two of my nails so two came out matt and the other ones were shiny. I went back and she was being even more rude, even though it was her mistake. The other women seemed nicer and friendlier as they actually listened to what their customers had to say. I only came here because of one specific colour that i liked that a lot of other places don't have. Paying $40 and coming out unhappy and frustrated is not worth it. I went to aydins nails on a whim as I just wanted a quick shellac mani before an xmas party. I was taken in right away, and the lady who did my nails was sweet and took her time. Although, they aren't the greatest but I can't complain about that. What I can complain about is as I am paying for my $42 mani the OWNER, I'm assuming Mr. Aydin himself, decides that it's appropriate to MAKE FUN of my head band and referring to me as "Tupac" . A paying customer, who was considering coming back possibly, he shot that one down real quick. Will now never go back and will be telling almost everyone I know who gets their nails done to not ever go to this "salon" . Tried this place twice since my 1st appt didn't go well and thought I would give them another chance- big mistake! The guy at the counter, according to the girls who work there is the owner. He is just horrible and honestly should never deal with customers. He is so creepy and if you are some what attractive, be prepared for some pathetic flirting. Gross!!! Thank goodness he did not do my nails, otherwise I would have walked out. I had a great lady do my shellac manicure. She was sweet, professional and most of all took pride in her work. She did a great job on my nails. I gave her a great tip at her station for a job well done. When I went to pay at the counter, I advised the creepy owner I would be paying cash Since most places offer a discount when doing so. He advised me it was $45 + gst for a shellac manicure. I was a bit stumped and surprised since on average I pay $24-$30 at other salons in the area for the same service. No discount ether? I'm sure we've all been to those chop shops for our nails. That's why i was very hesitant to come here, as I was worried this would be one of them. When I went in the first time I was pleased to see that it was very clean, and smelt really good as well. Not to mention that they actually spoke english! (I got gel nails). However, as the lady was doing my nails she didn't really listen to what I had asked for. They turned out kind of uneven and really long (I like short nails). But the weird part was that they almost flared out at the ends, so instead of being the regular shape of my nail they were hugely out of proportion on the tips. So I figured I would give it a second try, maybe she was new or just had a different way of doing nails than I was used to. This time I got the owner which is the guy. I have no idea what his name is. He was really nice, actually talked to me and seemed like he might know what he's doing. But I quickly learned that he did not. He started by completely sanding off the nails that the previous girl had done, but not only did he go so quickly that he missed huge pieces, he burnt me like 40 times! He had his electric drill turned up way too high and actually went so far on my nail that he burnt a hole into my actual nail. At this point I wasn't very impressed, but I didn't want to leave it like that. So I let him continue. But now it came time to shorten my nails to the length that I actually wanted. But he ended up filing my skin off instead of the nail because he wasn't paying attention. Instead of saying sorry or anything, he just continued like nothing had happened. Apparently continuous jumps of pain doesn't phase him. The whole time he talked about how great he was at nails and how it takes lots of practice and time to get the right techniques (apparently his are the right techniques). He just seemed very cocky and full of himself when it comes to his nail salon. Just everything he said to me was very strange, an example being how he treats the customers that annoy him etc. But once he was done, I quickly paid and went to my car to take a look at his work. He got the length perfect, but the white tips he did were so wonky and all over the place.. He filed the sides of them way too much to the point that they're all slanted and crooked. All of the nails also shift to the left, instead of being straight. And the whole time he was using a hand file, he was filing my fingers and skin instead of the nail itself. I was in and out of there in under 45 minutes, and to do a set of gels that just isn't enough time. I mean, I'm not trying to say this was the worst place ever or that you shouldn't go here, as I have only had gel nails and nothing else. But if you go here expecting it to be professional and good quality, you'll probably be disappointed. read more

Save your money. From the moment I walked in the door The male owner was beyond rude. He mocked my choices in what i want, was very rough and this is the time when most of the ignorance in the form of jokes took place. every time he cut, scraped or burned me which happened quite a few times, he'd say something like "oh, you'll live" "I think you'll be ok " ect. My friend whom was also getting nails, asked to have her eyebrows done, before she accepted the service she asked if the woman knew what she was doing, to which she oviously said "yes". In short she lied. My friend returned from the back of the salon looking very upset. as she got closer I could see why. The entire bottom of her right eyebrow was not cleaned up at all and her left eyebrow WAS GONE from the arch down. he told her the waxing would be waived like he was doing her a favour. he was obviously mad as was the woman who did the waxing and every time she tried to voice her concern they'd mockingly talk to each other in their language. The ended up trying to blame the horrendous outcome of the waxing on her eyebrows, which was a complete Copout because I salvaged what I could when we were finished. I also have a love hate relationship with this place. Sometimes is great, other times it's crappy. My fiancée and I went last night to get manicures for the wedding. We got there at 6:30 and it was closing at 7:30. I got a shellac manicure so it took longer. I explained it was for a wedding and that I wanted to make sure it was done well. She applied the coat of polish and I could see lumps from where the filed nailed didn't get taken off. I asked her to fix it and she did but feel this is something she should have caught, it was very obvious I wasn't just being high maintenance. My fiancée finished earlier then me and because we were so close to closing they skipped several steps in the manicure message that I saw my fiancée get just to be done sooner. I was also asked to pay while I was still being worked on. Because of this I tipped what I thought I was getting which was the same treatment as my partner which didn't happen. I was reluctant but you don't know if you find a gem until you try and the person I used to go to at another salon moved to a farther away location so I decided to look around. Well this isn't going to be the place I come back to. Way overpriced in comparison and the fill or should I say the "we have to remove all your product and start again' session looks unprofessional. I went for a manicure and pedicure. It is more expensive than my regular place. The lady did a good job on my pedicure. My manicure was shellac polish and they started peeling after 3 days. By day 5 all of nails had peeled off. It's ridiculous that I paid for the shellac polish so that it could last a good 3 weeks, like it does at my other place, only for it to last 3 days before the first nail peeled off. I've had my nails done for years, and about 2 years ago the technician who did my nails from 2001- 2012, returned back to her country. Unfortunately, the place she worked at, all her replacements could never live up to her precision and technique. After months and months and disappointment after disappointment, I could never find a good place to get my nails done. Some overcharged for less quality work than I was use to, others were unclean, misleading and simply put, "sucked." Than I came across this place in mid 2013, and I love that I found a place that matches the expectation and quality I had with my old nail tech. This place is great, lots of laughing and fun (the tech's are personable and fun), and they do an excellent job (when you tell them you're not happy, they will not bat an eyelash or try justify it, as one of the owners said, "it's your money, and you should get what you ask for, your my customer and I just want you to be happy with our work.") My last set, had all my girlfriends asking me for this place, they looked totally natural and was exactly what I wanted.
