This experience tops the worst contract experience of my life. I entered into a home expansion with…read morea reputable company I had previous satisfactory results with. This guy was subcontracted under their permit. He broke off with them over his story of arguments, and now said we were dealing separately. I tried to continue his agreed, and fully paid for portion that was not completed. He trier to shift all blame, he wanted additional money, he would never return my calls, and on an original start date of 26 May, 2024. I am still looking for the completion. He now states he will keep all of the pr-paid amount, and wants me to take my problems to the previous company who completed their contract in full. All the words some one might use could be liar, cheat, even thief. You can use your own imagination. I, on the other hand will address these issues thru appropriate legal and state supported agencies. Caveat-emteur,"let the buyer beware".

First and foremost I do not like to write negative reviews. Not even 2 months after the "completed" project and our concrete is cracking! My husband and I were put in contact with Mike for some concrete work. He was quick to respond and on 3/3/22 came out to measure the area. The next day he came over with a work order. Our mistake was not insisting on a detailed contract. 3/7 He said he would be out either 3/14 - 3/15 to begin work setting up forms and that concrete would be poured on 3/17. Said he would call us in a few days to confirm. 3/13 we hadn't heard from him to confirm. My husband texted him to ask. He replied he was coming the next day and he set concrete for Thursday 3/17. 3/14 Crew came out to set up forms and he confirmed the pour for 3/17. Around 2:30 they were gone without saying anything which we thought unprofessional. Forms were barely started and much work left to be done before the pour. We had no idea when they were coming back to finish. 3/15 My husband called Mike to ask when he would be coming out to finish. He said there was an issue with concrete and couldn't pour on 3/17 and that he would be out next week to finish and probably 3/25 to pour. 3/21 They came to do the forms but again left without saying anything so we were unable to tell them at that time that the forms were not out far enough. Mike called my husband that afternoon and said they had to come back to finish forms probably on Friday before the pour. We told him about the area discrepancy and he said that the area to be poured was much bigger than what my husband had told him on the phone and he was having to eat the difference in price. We had marked the area we wanted and he had measured off that when he came out, we never told him any sq footage on the phone only a general idea. The quote was after HE measured, that wasn't our fault. He agreed to set forms out another 24" to get closer to coverage we requested. We were stuck having to pay for addt'l concrete, but agreed in order to just get the work completed. 3/25 The crew finished the work, incl. an addt'l drain install he said would be needed to ensure driveway didn't flood. I will say, the drain does work as intended thankfully. He set forms out 20" not 24" like he said he would. Concrete was poured. At that point we were just over it and wanted it done. It wasn't worth dealing with it for 4 inches. He said he would be out in a day or two to remove forms and cut expansion joints. When he left we noticed several bad spots. Specifically along the fence, he just poured concrete right up to the slats no form was put there. The area is very wavy and uneven & looks terrible. 3/31 A week later and forms are still on concrete & no expansion joints. Texted him asking when that would be done. He replied in mostly gibberish "Yes sir be by next week's script forms in the cubby joint I'll let you know that as it approaches next week so I could what day probably Thursday or Friday" 4/11 No one called or showed up. Texted him asking when. Received no reply. 4/12 Called Mike to ask when he would be out. Said his guys would be out Friday 4/15. 4/15 MIke's crew shows up, no Mike. Forms removed & cut in 2 extremely thin, shallow and wavy joints in concrete. Like 1/16" wide, used a very thin blade and Dremel tool. Showed his son the area by the fence that was very bad, he said he wasn't there for the pour/setup & that there should have been a form there. He was going to speak to his father and come out to correct it. He did call his dad while still at our house and told me that they would shave it down so it was a straight line. They once again left without saying anything. 5/7 still have not heard from Mike and no-one fixed the issue. Communication was next to nothing and the whole thing took 6 weeks! We had more work we wanted done and 3 other friends that want concrete work, but after this experience I would never recommend them.
