Great store with many chains in the heart of Vancouver. I luckily stumbled upon this gem when I was walking in downtown Vancouver. You can find not only nights but also dried fruits and various spices as well as Tea. What I really enjoyed about this place was the amazing customer service.They let you try or sample everything in the store which means you can taste some delicious snacks before you buy them! The customer service is fabulous. I was lucky enough to find another branch closer to where I was staying and the staff there was also very kind. They kept the store open for me as they were about to close so I could buy some delicious nuts. make sure to come visit them! read more

I absolutely love this place. I walk across the street many times a week for a snack. Fresh roasted nuts, dried fruits, dried veggies and even sweets. My absolute favorites are: the chocolate covered cherries, rolled apricots, dried pears and mixed nuts. The people that work here are very nice and the pricing is very fair for an excellent product. Stopped in here on a whim with a friend who saw this place when we drove by, and I'm sure glad we did! The store is filled with these beautiful stands (? not sure what to call them), and each of them are filled with a unique delectable treat. The area is split into two by a step and a more traditional shelf that houses some treats. Lower floor has stands filled with more sweet treats like fruits, and the upper floor has savory treats like nuts. All products in these stands or shelves are charged by weight, so you can get as little or much as you want-- just like the bulk section at grocery stores. I got some dried mulberries, pomegranate Greek yogurt dipped fruit and chocolate espresso coated fruit; haven't tried them yet, but I'm excited to do so! Near the register and on the shelves on the opposite wall they have on display box sets or containers of foods that would make great gifts, such as baklava, nougat, and other Persian and Turkish treats. Some of these sets are mass manufacture products, but some of them are made by the employees there. I wish I wasn't on my diet right now so I could've gotten the baklava that were calling my name... Service was great; the man at the register was friendly and smiling. I heard him conversing with a woman in Farsi pretty excitedly, so I'm guessing this place is popular amongst Persians! read more

Walked by here by chance and was pleasantly delighted! I was giddier than a kid in a candy store - nuts and nuts covered in CHOCOLATE! Even my son was giddy with glee! We saw nuts being freshly roasted in the back room and it smelled amazing! Simple but gorgeous decor with vats/basin/bird bath stand (not sure what the correct term is) of nuts filled to the rim. It felt like we were in a castle made of nuts! We picked up some bulk lime and saffron pistachios, assorted chocolate covered nuts, and cashews. Let me tell you, my 4 year old devoured the lime and saffron pistachios, and my husband had to negotiate with him just to try some. We loved trying the "bag of surprise" (bulk assorted chocolate covered nuts) and was pleasantly surprised each time. There was even chocolate covered pistachios (ahhh, cue angels parting through the clouds) and chocolate covered blueberries (not the gummy, chewy kind of blueberries from Brookside), but actual dried tiny blueberries that were not overwhelmingly sweet. The store is sectioned into a particular flavour (ie. lime and saffron) and then the nuts available in that flavour are clustered together (cashews, pistachios, round pistachios, almonds and maybe some other variety). Then another section, another flavour (ie. lime and pepper) and another cluster of nuts. There were a few savoury flavours that I can't wait to try. In the far side of the store are the dried fruits, Turkish delights, walnuts, dried beets/fruits and chocolate "buffet" section. A whole spread of chocolate nuts on a table, each bowl neatly labeled. The cashier was very sweet (I think this is a family owned business) and she even let us sample some flavours before buying. I'll be going back later today to pick up some lime and saffron pistachios for my grandma this weekend. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a nice gift or something more to make your taste buds dance. Street parking out front. read more

All of their stores are classy with the hanging chandeliers, well lit, well-labelled but this is by far the biggest, twice the size of DT. Love the white-chocolate covered nuts, raisins: good for bringing to parties too, it's a show stopper when they see the dazzling colours...thankfully it's expensive here, a small pouch set me back $9. Watch out for Ayoub because once you've tried it, it's hard not to get addicted! Their nuts are fabulously freshly roasted and you can really taste the difference. This is my absolute go to place for roasted nuts and where all my money goes to. It hurts you wallet but man are these nuts good! Highly recommend! Great service and great product! read more

I cannot begin to describe how much I love this place. SO MANY varieties of nuts. What do you want? Healthy nuts? chocolate covered nuts? Roasted nuts? They've got them all. I just went there and just had such a lovey time choosing from everything. Of course I just left with walnuts, but I definitely will be going back to try other items. The basins filled with nuts seemed to carry everything and the smell is just intoxicating. And for the record I'm not a nut, nut. This place will make you into one though. read more

Like a kid in a candy store, Ayoub is filled with healthy goodies of nuts, fruits, and veggies. Dried okra chips and beet chips are the new potatoe chips! I can eat these all day long. Dried lentils and chickpeas are awesome with salads or on their own. I'm so excited they are now opened in Coquiltam! Now I don't have too go all the way to Denman or Kits just for some healthy snacks! Woot! read more

This place is like something from a different place in time , the nuts are stored in giant urns ! Not something that you find at Savon foods. The flavour of these nuts is like nothing I have ever tasted , you can taste the difference , it's definitely worth the extra money that they charge . I also enjoyed the dried vegies like snap peas and zucchini they are lightly salted and have a great taste too , the store people are so patient and even encouraged me to try the different nuts and fruits , I felt bad that I was eating so many things for free so I got some gift baskets made up for my friends and family This is an old fashioned store specializing In dried fruits and nuts , we don't see these types of places any more I think it's great I'm going to go back I highly recommend it read more

I always bought the nuts from Ayoub's store in Lonsdale. They are very courteous and customer oriented. Even, they offered to taste any product before buying. Recently a new store was opened in Coquitlam that was closer to my home. I bought worth of $100 from them and when I returned one $5 item because of low quality, they argued about my judgment of the quality and finally weighted the product to return the money. Their behavior was very discourteous and I will never go back to this store. I wish they had learned how to treat their customers before they open the store. They should appreciate that they are doing business in Canada and not Iran and customer is always right. I also advise the owner of the chain to hire a manager who knows how to handle the business and not to act so cheap in front of the customer. read more

I bought a few packages of so called fresh nuts and after 40 days opened one package to find more than 40 worms inside. I went to return the package and the store owner denied it and refused to refund or compensate me. Awful! read more

Ayoub's can be bit intimidating from the outside for those unfamiliar with traditional Persian nut and dried fruits stores with the huge copper urns and all...and that's where people miss out! Don't be afraid to venture into this curiosity shop and get your (free) whiff of roasted nuts and samples of the delectable, sometimes unfamiliar gifts of nature. The goods aren't as pricey as you might think just looking at the decorations. The quality of their goods (in my experience) is excellent. I have a serious walnut addiction and this is the only place I will go to as their walnuts are so fresh (good sized walnuts dried just enough). Their mulberries are out of this world; they carry a wide variety of spices at extremely reasonable prices; and, they have loads of yummy Persian sweets begging to be tested (one by one, my dears ... no sweet left behind, I promise!). The salespersons I have dealt with so far have been very nice and accommodating -- quick to help, but not overbearing. If only they had VIP passes so that I didn't have to feed the parking meter, but I guess you can't have it all. read more
