I can't recommend Ayurhitam and Manju enough! After suffering from severe acid reflux for about two years, trying all the medications doctors prescribed, including proton pump inhibitors, and even ending up in urgent care twice during the pandemic because it was hard to swallow, I was feeling hopeless and very anxious. I had been suffering with eczema around my eyes and mouth/lips area for several years that caused a lot of dryness, itching, inflammation and swelling. I was taking Homeopathy treatment for over two years but it was not very helpful and it never cured the problem. I reached out to Dr.Manju with a hope that Ayurvedic medicine will cure this problem for me. With Dr. Manju, we started off with details on my routine, sleep pattern, eating habits, any family history etc and she came up with a food plan for me to eat and what to eat in moderation and what to avoid etc and got me started on Ayurveda medication to take over the course of 1 month. I didn't see any changes to my condition after one month and so she changed my medication to a different one which also didn't help after 2nd & 3rd month. Finally she suggested mini cleansing which we decided to do over the weekend. I have always had very persistent colds. I've seen a lot of doctors (Western doctors, acupuncture) and had tons of tests but I never really had any relief. I went to see Dr. Kolli because I'd never tried Ayurvedic treatment and wanted to try something new. Our initial meeting lasted over an hour. She got a detailed profile of my medical background, habits, and diet, and then gave me a diet to follow. She also prescribed two herbal supplements. To be honest, since I'm already vegetarian, the diet was not the easiest to follow as a lot of my favorite foods were in the "don't eat" or "eat very little" lists. But in the end it was worth it. I'm happy to report that I did get relief from my symptoms. The lethargy went away and I have less congestion. I followed a modified version of that diet for another few weeks and took different supplements and have very few bad days now. Going forward I am going to integrate some parts of the diet permanently. Dr. Kolli was very professional and at the same time personable. I really felt like I was in good hands. She answered various questions that I had via the patient portal in a very timely manner. I live quite a distance from Dr. Kolli's office, so the second and third visit were via Zoom. I was really glad that I didn't have to drive so far again after the inital visit. Also, Dr. Kolli told me about Abhyanga massage, so I got one of those too. It was really relaxing. The problem was that I had to drive for 90 minutes after the massage and by the time I got home, all that relaxation had evaporated into the freeway traffic. So if you don't live too far from her office, I'd also recommend that treatment. Overall I have only positive things to say about my experience with Dr. Kolli and her staff. She was on time for her appointments and gave me a lot of good information. Most of all, she helped me feel more energetic and much healthier. And the other people in her office were equally personable and professional. I hope that one day Western medicine and, more to the point, Western insurance companies, will add Ayurvedic medicine to their list of covered practices. read more
