They were quiet but polite, and it seemed like they had done this many times. The doctor arrived shortly after and asked for some details about my health. UPDATE: I received a full refund and the issue was addressed by the business. ***** 1) I received bottles that were disgustingly dusty. When I received them, I wondered where they kept these products to be that dusty and unkempt. 2) Out of the 7 products I ordered, I received 5 close to their expiring date, meaning close to 3 years old with no more shelf life. 3) One of the products, a box of tablets, arrived open with the box ripped and the tablets outside its box and all over the shipping box. 4) I submitted a request for return and refund on their cumbersome website system. It took a week to be approved even when I sent pictures. 5) I followed all the return instructions, including covering their bottles with the same cardboard with which they arrived and paid $10+ for shipping it back. 6) After a week they received it, I got an email that my request for return was denied on the grounds that I didn't return them in their correct package. 7) I wondered if they will be reselling the returned items. 8) I contacted my Ayurveda provider and at her request Kerala Ayurveda Store provided a "partial" refund only. read more

Had some "miscommunication" regarding billing and I now have a huge bill. This would be fine if I actually felt better (not worse) than I did when beginning my services there. I went in for shoulder pain and was treated for it and lower back pain (which I didn't have at the time). Now my lower back hurts so bad that I can't even tell how my shoulders are doing cause I'm in so much pain. I'm surprise how Kerala Ayurveda Academy & Wellness Center has positive reviews. I visited them twice for digestion issues, got some herbs from the doctor and later my condition got worsen. I tried to reach them on phone, first time they responded and changed dosage of the herbs. Still my condition got worsen, i tried multiple times to call them on phone and they never responded. They respect when someone come first time because that is the only time the patient pay high. From second visit the payment will be less so they don't really care about solving patient health concern. This is just my experience, not influencing anyone. read more

I live in the Bay Area. 10 years ago, I had a serious physical ailment. No western doctors were able to diagnose what was going on with me. Finally, I underwent an Ayurveda detox program that saved my life. Not only did Ayurveda heal my body and mind, it also re-kindled the spiritual fire in me and I began to practice Yoga and meditation regularly. Since then, I have been doing a Panchakarma (detox+rejuvenation) program once or even twice a year. Think about it as your Spring Cleaning for your body, mind and soul. After each treatment, you will feel like a new man/woman: you will be energitically-recharged, more grounded, and ready to take on whatever life throws at you. In the past, I used to travel to India to do Panchakarma. Luckily, in 2013, I discovered Kerala Ayurveda Academy in Fremont, which is closer to where I live. For the past three years I have been doing my Panchakarma there. Dr. Jay is a very kind, super-knowledgeable, and highly intuitive physician: he can identify my physical/emotional issues just by looking at me and prescribe an effective treatment within 5 minutes of examining me. I was lucky to receive treatments from two highly-competent and intuitive therapists: Alka Mulakaluri and Izumi Hirayama: I just enjoy surrendering to their "healing hands". If you live in the Bay Area, I highly recommend you to come to this clinic for a regular checkup and if you really care about your health you should do a Panchakarma here at least once a year: it's a great investment in your long-term well-being. I was referred by a friend to Kerala to get bodywork therapy. But it was not a pleasant experience to get therapy. I was charged a different price than I was told on the phone. I was not very happy with therapy as well. The administrator Ileana kept pushing me to get PK and going over the price list for PK. she was very rude and not interested to listen to me as well. Her accent was difficult to understand. It was very annoying and frustrating to deal with her. Finally, the receptionist interrupted and helped me to get rid of her nonstop talk for whIch I was not interested to listen. But I was really disappointed with her service and price. There are no business ethics in this company looks like, everyone interrupts each other and speaks in their culture language which is difficult to understand. I was told by my friend to get a consultation but I do not think I will go for it after witnessing everyone especially after behaviour of lady Ileana. Please do not go to this crazy place. read more

I have not had a great experience here, and I gave it about 10 trys! Usually I just never come back after one bad experience. I was coming here for massage for a period of 6 months. During that time on 3 occasions my massage therapist wasn't there because somehow she didn't know she had an appointment (which I had scheduled in advance with the front desk), the customer service in general was really hit or miss, the place is loud from street traffic and dingy, and they sent me a bill for $115 for ONE massage when my insurance didn't pay it (because they submitted it wrong)!! I am writing to recommend taking yoga classes with Patricia McKinnon offered through Kerala Ayurveda. Patricia teaches yoga with a lot of heart and soul. She is great at helping you build a strong foundation of the fundamental basic postures in a supportive way while encouraging you to challenge yourself in the process. I was given a very high level of individual attention. I've been able to expand on my yoga practice with confidence given the foundation Patricia provided for me. I highly recommend her yoga classes.
