I booked my appointment after several…read moreattempts by phone 2 months prior, but didn't receive the usual confirmation email or call the day prior to the appointment. So I decided it was best to confirm via email before finding out it wasn't happening. I asked, "I want to make sure that you will be there for my appointment today." Perhaps it's a difference of cultures, but I also found the attitude within the email extremely unprofessional and rude. The direct quote of the reply i received was "Why wouldn't I if I have scheduled the appointment in my appointment book." I was so shocked I almost canceled my appointment 45 minutes before the treatment. Anyways, I gave the lady a chance. I arrived 10 minutes late and we went straight to the treatment room. The room was clean however the sheet on the treatment table was extremely small and barely covered me as I laid under it. The person at the desk was the only person working and also the treatment provider. She didn't introduce herself but did explain the process of the day. There was some contemporary music playing on the radio in the background in a different language. She used a grapeseed oil based with 5 types of essential oils for the body full massage. I received a really great full body exfoliation with a sea salt with shea butter and essential oils scrub. My skin was extremely soft after showering in their facilities. Afterward, I received the finishing body lotion but only realized I never received the body mud wrap once I was home and referred to the list of services I should have received. The facial was a very basic 30 minute cleanse with about 5 steps. No extractions or steam. My favourite was the hydration lotion that was left on for 15 minutes before being cleaned off. There wasn't much explanation of what was being used unless asked. All in all the treatment was decent. My skin looked and felt great all day. I was also happy she didn't try to add services or sell me products.

Started off with the massage, followed by the sea salt scrub (well worth it!!) and then a quick shower before I was moisturized all over. The shower was clean and towels/bathrobe/slippers were provided. After this she explained the process of an oxygen facial (never had one before) and got to work before finishing with a relaxing mask. All in all this was a fun experience for me since I rarely have a spa day and after 2 hours I came out feeling totally refreshed and relaxed.

Her most influential teacher comes to her from Thailand and it's this style that she resonates with most. Doing over two hundred and fifty hours of training in Thailand and India she uses prolonged acupressure and stretching to open up specific energy lines in the body. Also trained in Reiki levels 1 and 2 she incorporates these techniques within all her treatments. The Health Loft is located on Stewart St. just a few minutes walk from King and Bathurst. It is an all women's clinic and along with massage therapy they offer acupuncture, chiropractic services and orthotics. Upon entering I received a friendly greeting and smelled a scent that was reminiscent to minty chocolate. You can schedule your appointments online through their website and for your first visit they will send you forms to complete ahead of time and bring to your appointment or email back to them. In the event that you forget to do so (like I did) you should arrive about 10 mins early to complete the forms. After I completed the forms I was escorted by my massage therapist to the therapy room and had a brief discussion of what areas I wanted worked on and the amount of pressure I prefer. This was by far the best massage I've had in recent memory and have already scheduled my next couple of visits! If you are a woman that lives in the neighbourhood I would recommend checking it out. My last experience with the other massage therapist was horrible, she had no idea about actual massage therapy seems like she was not expert at her field. i specifically told her y i am here what needs to be done but the whole time she was giving me relaxing body massage other then doing the actually thing to ease my pain. unfortunately Anna was not working that day and was stuck with inexperienced therapist and not knowing at all about the real massage therapy, i had to interrupt her couple of time and she kept saying she is coming onto that and wasted my time and money to get the useless thing done. this place is running by lack of knowledge people and the therapists. (which i doubt they are really registered therapist) since Anna is not there anymore i would not put step into this business anymore.
