That is my opinion. I will provide supporting facts. Full disclosure: Ferrick spoke against me in Court after she was appointed as a Behavioral Interventionist in the re-unification of our child with his mother, whom he had refused to see since turning 16. Fact: Ferrick is NOT a medical doctor, yet she made a medical diagnosis upon which she based her recommendation to the Court, which backfired and caused financial and emotional damage to all parties involved. (My comment; Two MD doctors, with MD degrees, literally laughed at her obviously wrong diagnosis.) Fact: Ferrick claimed the child could not think straight (cognitive decline) due to his weight. The kid was getting straight A's in multiple AP classes, had a 1540 SAT, and ended up as high school Valedictorian. I am not making this up. Fact: Ferrick told the Court I hated my mother and wanted my child to also hate his mother. But.....I had told her the exact opposite. I had a wonderful relationship with my mother and can prove it. (My comment; Instead of verifying even once if she heard right, given how impactful this was, and why I would ever 'admit' this, Ferrick just plowed ahead). There is actually and unfortunately more. But this is plenty.

She was incredibly supportive, sympathetic, gentle, and direct when it was needed. I never felt pushed but was encouraged to face certain parts of myself with grace. Many of her intentional questions and empowering words I still remember today. I always felt safe enough to share my hurts and express my feelings openly. I am grateful for the two years of counseling I had with her. She is wonderfully supportive and truly gifted by God in the field of counseling.

I know I had dug in my heels for years before that fateful night when my wife walked out our door and I didn't know if she was coming back. I called and made an appointment with Deborah for the first time that night -- because I was finally ready to try just about anything to save my marriage. The new start =========== Deborah taught my wife and I new skills in those first few meetings. She facilitated a safe meeting place for my wife and I. Counseling is only as good as the effort you're willing to put into it -- and my wife and I "swung for the fences". We were able to turn our marriage around -- and I'm confident Deborah played a pivotal role in that transformation. Price ====== Deborah is covered by certain insurance companies -- ask yours what you need to do to have them pick up the bill. If you're paying full price, Deborah charges an average rate of about $150 / hour -- but ask her what her rate is up front to avoid any surprises. Tips ======= * Each session is about an hour. * Be willing to do what she suggests at least a few times to see if they work. * It sounds corny, but go with an open mind. * Do your homework if she gives you some. * if you're going with your spouse, make an evening out of it -- go on a date after your counseling session. The biggest issue with this organization is the significant disconnect between what it says it…read morevalues and how it actually operates. The organization promotes a culture of compassion, support, and client-centered care, but the day-to-day reality often felt like maintaining a positive image was prioritized over addressing legitimate concerns. Employees were routinely expected to give more than they were compensated for, including completing work outside of paid hours. Rather than acknowledging the unsustainable demands being placed on staff, leadership fostered a culture of "toxic positivity" where concerns were often minimized, reframed, or treated as a mindset issue rather than valid feedback. Positivity is not a substitute for accountability, and a workplace cannot solve systemic problems by simply encouraging employees to have a better attitude. The turnover rate among staff should be viewed as a serious warning sign. When experienced employees repeatedly leave, the appropriate response is to examine the working conditions, leadership practices, and organizational decisions contributing to that pattern. Instead, there appeared to be an expectation that staff should tolerate the same issues that caused others to leave. Most concerning was the impact this environment had on client care. In a mental health setting, decisions should consistently be guided by what is ethically and clinically in the best interest of clients. Unfortunately, there were times when organizational priorities appeared to outweigh clinical considerations. This creates a difficult environment for clinicians who entered the field to provide quality care and advocate for the people they serve. A healthy mental health organization requires leadership that listens to staff, respects boundaries, supports clinicians, and is willing to acknowledge problems rather than dismiss them. Ultimately, this organization taught me that a workplace can use the language of wellness, compassion, and positivity while still failing to create an environment where employees feel valued and where clients' needs consistently come first. Meaningful change requires more than slogans--it requires accountability, transparency, and a willingness to address uncomfortable truths.

Dumbfounded I put in a quirky answer like; idk unicorns and rainbows? She obviously hated that response and I got a long email about how she's refusing to take me because I'm a "danger to her staff." I feel so dehumanized due to my diagnosis and answering my trauma in detail thru paper work... do you know how hard that is to do alone when your seeking help? if you want to be treated like a human being with empathy don't come here they are extremely belittling and will treat you like a robot.

Kim is absolutely phenomenal and I couldn't recommend her more highly…read more Her knowledge of all aspects of health and medicine is exceptional- she is able to discuss both common and uncommon medical conditions across a range of areas extending well beyond mental health, and is equally knowledgable about the various medications used to treat said conditions. That said, as skilled as she is in numerous areas, she does have a particularly strong knowledge of medications used in the mental health field. Just as important as her knowledge and experience is her genuine compassion, warmth, understanding and ability to truly engage with patients. Kim is that rare combination of casual and professional- this she is able to make one feel at ease when discussing even the most awkward of subjects by creating a comfortable and relaxed setting, whilst at the same time fostering a true sense of security and confidence with her sense of professionalism. There are only a couple of medical professionals I would recommend so highly, and amongst those none quite so emphatically as Kim.
