Sugar Haven is close to work so I decided to give it a try. I was able to get a same day appointment (around the holidays too!) which was much needed. The place is nothing fancy, just bare bones. This was my first sugaring experience. I had my lip and chin done. The pain is no different than waxing, a little less probably. The cool sugar is soothing as opposed to the hot wax that can burn. There are no strips, just a ball of sugar that is almost rolled over the area. It's not a "one and done" pull like with waxing. There are some areas that take a couple passes, but it's not like in waxing where the more rips the more pain. The redness was the same as waxing but disappeared sooner. Kyarra did my sugaring and she is a good soul. I will return for my in between waxes when I can't get into my regular place. Based on his provider, Ashley's reviews, it's clear his experience with her, wasn't due to her lack of skill or knowledge, but rather her lack of enthusiasm and unwillingness to perform the service with care. Making his 60 minutes session grueling and very uncomfortable. Far below Spavia's standards. From an excessively long and overly oily scalp effleurage "rub." It could hardly be called a scalp "massage." To the poor use of the stones, it was absolutely apparent that Ashley performed the "whole" service begrudgingly.
