They were able to see me, which is pretty amazing in itself. The lady on the phone asked me several questions... when did it happen, how did it happen, are your swollen, did you cut your lip, are you injured in any other way, etc. She not only was trying to get a correct diagnosis over the phone (to ensure the DR. could see me), she also seemed generally concerned. After all, having a broken tooth is ALWAYS a traumatic event! The minute I walked in the door (not smiling or showing my teeth), they automatically knew who I was! There is something I like when I'm on the phone with someone, tell them I'm on my way... and they actually expect me and greet me by name! As the other reviews say, this office staff cares about every single one of their patients. This is one of the best dental experiences I have ever had! I'm not a person who has "dental apprehension", but Dr. Hartrick completely set me at ease. If you aren't familiar with cosmetic dental work, Dr. Hartick is outstanding! She is VERY concerned about patient pain and takes numerous measures to make sure it is minimized. She took a lot of time to explain the procedures being performed and what to expect. Dr. Alsaidi saved my life. Bone infections can kill you. The infections had spread, and I found out that there was no other way to treat bone infections, except extractions and bone grafts. I lost a lot of teeth, because of poor dentistry. That was almost 3 years ago. I am now finished with all of my work. Healthy bones and implants, all thanks to Michigan Gum Docs, Dr. Alsaidi. He is kind and caring and so is the staff. Through all of this, my son was married, I lost my mom, and became a grandmother. Not only did Dr. Alsaidi remember all of this, he always wanted to know how I was doing with everything. He cared about me as a person. I was not just a patient on a chart. My son had his wisdom teeth removed here, and the follow-up care was extremely disappointing. Six…read moredays after surgery, while he was at school, he developed complications. We tried for hours to reach the office but couldn't get through due to phone system issues. When we finally connected, Dr. Cohen questioned why my son hadn't come in earlier and said he could see him Monday. He suggested a local oral surgeon near my son's school, but that office was closed. We had to rely on urgent care and hospital staff for help. My son ended up in the hospital for 5 days. During that time, no one from the office checked on him, and when I spoke with Dr. Cohen, he mentioned phone problems and being busy moving over the weekend. He also said we should have gone to a hospital where he had privileges, which we were never told about. While complications can happen after surgery, the lack of responsiveness, professionalism, and compassion from this office was unacceptable. I cannot recommend this practice.
