Great little burger place, I come here often. All the ingredients are fresh and they have a wide variety of burgers made from quality meat. The chubby chips are also quite good. Was expecting so much more!! Nothing special about this place whatsoever my local chipper would have been more satisfying. Burger was tasteless and dry, I didn't even eat half. When you visit a burger joint calling itself CowCow, (Bó is Irish for cow), you expect certain things and BóBós ticks all those boxes. The burgers are big, the buns are good, the toppings extensive and the price reasonable. The Camden street area is overflowing with burger options from specialist burger joints like BóBós, Bunsen Burger, Aussie BBQ to restaurant offerings and fast food joints. BóBós more than holds it's own. Let's start with the burgers; the toppings are preset and there are around 27 different options with the ability to customize from a list of extras. I'd usually try to go here at least once a fortnight and have made my way through most of the menu and the burgers rarely disappoint although some of them can be a bit messy to eat and some of the toppings are a bit much, the Greek came with about 150g of Feta cheese and the Slaw Burger is almost impossible to eat without getting coleslaw all over your face and hands due to the ridiculous amount of coleslaw. The pattie options are beef, pork, chicken, fish or vegetarian. The patties aren't made on the premises but are sourced from a Dublin butcher and I guess you could mark them down for that but the meat is delicious, the beef is particularly "beefy". The burgers are very filling so make sure you're hungry and if there is two of you I'd advise sharing a side. Prices range from €8 to €13 and sides are plentiful with various sauce options (the alioli is great) and a choice between chubby or skinny fries. The fries come with rosemary sprinkled on top which is a nice touch and really enhances the flavour. There is usually some form of special on during the day time where a burger, chips and drink can be purchased for €10. If you're a student you can get a 15% discount before 22:00 and if you get takeaway before 22:00 you also get a 15% discount. There is a wide variety of drinks including beer, wine, milkshakes and soft drinks. If you have a hankering for your childhood order a pint of red lemonade containing every Irish child's favourite hyperactivity inducing e-number E110 or more lovingly known as Sunset Yellow. The service is friendly although it can be a bit slow. After you order a burger it will take between 10 and 15 minutes to come however it is well worth the wait. I'd advise seating yourself rather than waiting for the server and it's usually easier to pay at the till. The décor is unique to say the least with cow hides and miniature cows all over the place but it's showing it's age a bit now with some shabby bits here and there although I personally think that adds to the ambiance but it can put some people off. The tables are a bit crowded and you will need a bit of elbow room for your burger so it's best enjoyed in groups of 2 but 4 can be accommodated at a table easily. I've concentrated on the burgers mainly but they have an extended menu with options like chicken wings, chicken tenders and so on as well as various dessert options if you have space. I've never had these so can't say if they are good or bad. In summation I'd recommend the Dubliner due to the Dubliner cheese and BóBós special sauce. It can be a bit messy but it usually hits the spot. Make sure to ask your server about the specials as they can change and might not be clearly written up. It is a pretty simple good burgers, chunky chips and a cold beer, but it works so well, the burger menu is quit large, my personal fav at the moment is the Humpty Dumpty, but there are many to get through i think i may take a few more visits, also location is pretty sweet, you have Whelans next door, the Village and Anseo only a stone's throw away. read more

only went here as Bunsen up the road had a gammy hand written sign in the window that they were closing at 7.45 pm as it was 7.15 didnt really fancy indigestion but really wanted a burger so went to Bobos up the road. 1st impressions is the place is small , not a load of people in so didnt mind but if it was busy you would literally be sitting on someones lap. Mainly a burger spot but the do wings fries etc. I went for the emancipator! burger which I know sounds more like an evil transformer character , with fries and a coke and here is where my meal went downhill. The "FRIES" although were plentiful were frozen chips out of a bag, I dont have a problem with frozen fries but if your going to all that effort to do gourmet burgers etc would hand cut fries be a huge ask? the burger was enormous but not amazing! , it came with onion rings on it which were soggy , the burger itself was nice enough but not amazing , the bun was enormous but i felt like it was that big to be theatrical more than anything. Now here is my major gripe... the wings..... absolutely awful! they were microwaved soggy and just swimming in FRANKS hot sauce hey were miserable and to be honest disgusting...... my other gripe is massive burger ....check.....massive fries portion....check..... " can i get a coke please"?....then they drop down a 200ml glass bottle of Coke....I hate these things.. seriously at €2.80 a bottle you literally get 2 sips out of one before you would need another.... their beer selection is fine..... all in all BOBOs is one expensive ass place , the food is just ok ( the wings are terrible) , and its way too expensive for what you get........ This was a return visit to Bobo's on Wexford street having had positive experiences before. It'll be my last. My fiancée and I arrived to a packed restaurant and were seated. Our seating arrangements were too close to the next table. The music was loud and not conducive to conversation. We were hounded SIX times for our order. I've worked in the service industry, where a good rule of thumb is to wait until the customer has finished reading the menu before taking the order. Feeling hurried, I ordered just a cheeseburger. We split a half and half. So as not to sound too negative, the onion rings served by Bobo's are some of the tastiest I've had. This burger did not meet the standards I'd experienced previously. The patty was much smaller, had been cooked to the point of dryness and contained a lot of gristle. It seemed like an inferior version of the frozen types used by the local chipper. The other ingredients were fine: fresh and plentiful. But smack, bang in the middle of my burger was a lovely thick, straight black hair, which I had nearly swallowed by the time I had discovered it. This put me off eating the rest of my burger. When it came to the table being cleared off, our server asked if everything was okay. I quietly said I'd an issue with the burger and pointed out the hair. She just said "oh", and walked away. We got up to leave, and while paying, asked again if we were happy with our meal. My fiancée said "well, not really", pointing out the bonus in my burger. The person operating the till, with quite a bit of attitude, said "well you should've told us, we'd have got you another burger", to which I replied "after that, I didn't want another burger". I should probably have pointed out that I did raise it with another staff member, who clearly didn't bother to mention it with anyone else, but I was seething at how I was just spoken to. We were offered a 10% discount, which wouldn't have covered the cost of the burger I wasn't able to eat. Awful treatment, and this returning customer will not be coming back again, and will make sure friends and family don't either. read more

Disgusting Lack of Basic Hygiene Was a stalwart at this place untill two nights ago (30 May 2011). Three problems, each worse than the last. (1) the guy who served us our food had really long nails, looked like nail extensions. (2) We were served a mixture of warm and cold chips but when we informed the chef behind the counter he responded by putting his hand on the chips in front of us to check the temperature and then put the chips back into the chip fat to reheat for us. We needed to ask for fresh chips. (3) Just as I was paying my partner went to the mens toilets. He witnessed another one of the kitchen workers not washing his hands after passing urine and then walk back into the kitchen again. We were too shocked to ask for our money back and felt like gagging when we left. I'll never ever darken the door again............ read more

Ok I will not hear a word against Bobos! Especially as they stock sweet, sweet TK red lemonade which is an intrinsic part of Irish nostalgia along with ten penny mixes and pogs.(Remember them?) Try the apple burger, the other half got it and I was extremely envious. Bobo's fills a void in Dublin burger scene as it's cheap and cheerful. Their fries are not the best but I'm sure anyone would be satisfied having their delicious burgers (they must be some of the biggest I've ever seen) that also include two options for vegetarians, juices, floats, beer/wine. They literally have everything you can ask for. The staff are helpful and it has a lovely diner atmosphere. Seats are cow-skin :) Opens quite late normally but make sure you don't get there too late as it fills up with people from Whelan's after gigs. read more

Delicious burgers and chips- and were gluten friendly (which wasca major plus). Great place to grab food rather quickly.

Bobos had great burgers- very filling. There is a wide variety on the menu but we opted for the lunch special - 10 euro for cheeseburger/fries/soda. It was great! The skinny fries were spiced with rosemary- I enjoyed them. The service was SUPER slow- lunchtime Friday- just a warning for anyone that thinks they are grabbing a quick bite to eat. I wouldn't go up to Wexford Street again for one of their burgers but I'll probably pop into the Dame Street one once in a while. Delicious! Bobos is one of my favourite burger joints in Dublin City and never fails to disappoint. A plus side is the fact that you can see the staff prepare and cook the food from the seating area. Price is reasonable, I would say it averages out at around 12 euros for a meal with small drink. Would definitely recommend a visit. read more
