Was wandering on the street after a stressful Monday and bumped into this American Southern style chicken and beer place. Casual decor, open kitchen and beer fridge, lighting was on the dim side. Had a Pitburger pilsner beer. Although a bottle beer, it was very crisp, malty, clean, and a bit sweet, very suitable summer drink. Also had a Southern fried chicken burger. Chicken was fried very nicely, the crust was crispy but not overly hard, inside was juicy and piping hot fiber, nicely seasoned with a bit of spices, went very well wtih the fresh veggies and sauce in the burger. The buns were soft and warm, though I might want it toasted a bit more. Also the price might be slightly on the high side (€11.95) for a standard size burger. Had tried to come here for lunch but was a little too early, they open at noon weekdays. Ended up coming back for dinner. The restaurant is quite small and there are long tables that they seat parties together at. We had to squeeze in the middle which was fine just a bit hot and cramped. The chicken was well seasoned on the burgers but the bun was wayyy too much bread, could use a different bun we think. They do offer everything in a bowl which is nice so would probably do that rather. The onion rings were also super good. Guessing the man working the room was the owner as he seemed invested and seemed to know some of the customers. All in all good food and we'd give it another go. read more

It does what it says on the box - chicken! Shockingly enough you can find several different STYLES of chicken here too - wings, wraps, rolls, burgers, EVEN *gasp* in salad! In all seriousness though the rotisserie style cooking is great - much healthier than fried and the chicken is tender and juicy in everything I've had it in. The Buffalo burger is great, and my friends got a wrap and another burger and loved them too. The banoffee and ice cream was a great way to satisfy the sweet tooth afterwards as well! We went on a Saturday around 1:30 and it was relatively quiet but a few groups rolled in as we ate. Good music playing the whole time anyway so it didn't seem sleepy or slow even when we were some of the only ones there. Great long tables, picnic-style, so would be awesome for a big group at lunchtime! Doesn't break the bank either. However, the waitress seemed a little oblivious and wasn't very attentive, we had to call her over several times to refill water and get the bill. All in all a great little place, the food is nice, and it's pretty guilt-free since it's just chicken and not the fast-food stuff that just oozes grease. This place does nice chicken! I went here in a party of 3 and the food was lovely. I got a half chicken, they got wings and a quarter chicken. The sides are very tasty too, I went for the carrot and parsnip mash (delish) and tried some of their chips (also good). All in all, a good meal! The staff were also very nice to us there. And in general the place had a nice ambience. A warning though: a quarter of a chicken is not enough for a meal. Go for a half chicken (€8) at the least. Their wings are spicy and tasty and fairly cheap (€7 per dozen) The layout of the place is very canteen-esque, with plain wooden benches and tables, there are no backs to the benches, so that may rule some people out. Camden Rotisserie is a restaurant on Camden street that's specialty is chicken. I was eager to try it as I love all things chicken. I went on a Sunday evening and it wasn't too busy. The layout of the restaurant is very relaxed- there are 3 or 4 long benches so they can accommodate both big and small groups easily. There was no wait and we got seated instantly. There is a lovely atmosphere with dim candle-lighting. There is such a big selection on the menu that I didn't know what to choose. I went for the wings and the sweet potato fries- The buffalo wings were deliciously hot with plenty of sauce. The sweet potato fries were grand but a bit soggy towards the end. The hand cut fries may have been the better option. My friend got half a rotisserie chicken with mashed potato- choosing BBQ sauce as the topping (options were gravy, piri piri and BBQ). She said the chicken was so succulent and the nicest she's ever had in a restaurant in fact. The mashed potato was average- it needed more butter and milk I think. Overall we both enjoyed the food a lot- and the fact that it was so reasonably priced contributed to this. Had very much been looking forward to the Camden Rotisserie, I had visions of something similar in style and atmos to Bear and Neon and Crackbird... you know, a comparatively basic dining experience but tasty and treaty. It felt we were on the right track when we arrived and shown to our bench with other happy diners, the menu was small but with all the right bits, the staff friendly, the atmosphere relaxed and pleasant. There was even a Government minister in the corner eating like a normal person... it gave everyone something to gossip about, which was thoughtful of him. We ordered fries, wings and 1/4 birds with piri piri and another topping (cant remember), and some wine and cola. It all arrived quickly and certainly looked the part but sadly, this is where the good times ended. On first tasting the wings were great but quickly went from great to "oh sweet jeebus, there are other seasonings apart from salt you know" the 1/4 chicken portions were succulent and perfectly cooked but even with the flavouring added (piri piri in my case) they were completely and genuinely devoid of any flavour or character. The fries were good though. All in all, a bit disappointing, glad we tried it but no, wont be returning. read more

Walked into the Camden Rotisserie and was immediately approached by a dashing man in a black shirt and trousers - rather dapper and unexpected in a chicken joint! He very helpfully went through the menu with me, made a few jokes, suggested some items, and actually made me feel like I was in a silver service restaurant! I was originally planning on grabbing something to go, but such was the atmosphere, I ended up staying. The interior itself is quite nice - that rustic wooden / chalkboard look that's so popular at the moment. Very casual (it's relatively fast food after all, albeit a 'healthy' / homemade version), but comfortable. They also had free and fast wifi which is always a bonus. The food was unfortunately where I felt a little let down. Don't get me wrong, it was perfectly nice; I guess I just wanted to like it more. I got the pulled chicken bbq wrap. It was delish. The chicken was fresh and good quality. The bbq sauce was just a little generic. The wrap was cold too - I had hoped it would have been hot. I also got mashed potato as a side. The first word I saw of Camden Rotisserie was a picture of the store front with the little chicken on broadsheet.ie. This was before it opened. Lots of gossip as to what it could be. When it did open it was nice to see what they did with the space. I like the decor and the furniture. I've tried the pieces/goujons, which are great with some ketchup or a dip.. or both! I've had the Mexican chicken burger, which rocks. The jalapeños really make it for me. The chips are good too, as are the corn on the cob. I'm not in love with their coleslaw, but the other sides are grand, so I will be sticking to those. Another plus is the Sauvignon Blanc by the glass is quite nice. Everything was great, the Nachos were a surprise, loaded with cheese and plenty of Guacamole, crispy chips, very tasty! The chicken tenders were also very crispy and delicious, everything you want chicken tenders to be. The garlic mayo dip was good, not overly garlicy. Everything came in a generous portion, prices are great too. The only thing we didn't like was the garlic bread, which was soggy and sad, without much flavor. The only thing missing were some carrots with the celery and the blue cheese could have used some crumbles. Camden Rotisserie opened up a few months ago. I've been three times now an its a great place for a quick substantial tasty meal. They do primarily chicken dishes (half chicken, full chicken, burgers, tenders pull chicken wraps etc). But they have a steak on the menu as well. The chicken burgers are great. A massive delicious sesame seed bun with a butterflied chicken breast with lots of tasty toppings. The fries are really good as well. Add to that friendly staff and a really really quick service its it a great place. So if you are fed up of normal burgers of which there are about 10 different places nearby then try a chicken burger. Its healthier and will give you a nice suprise! read more

I understand the food is fairly fresh, but still, I was less than impressed by their service. We were actually quite close to leaving just as our starter arrived. So, when I happened to be in the Camden St area with some Americans who wanted some home-style cooking and we saw it there... I've got the wings a few times, each time I've been very disappointed, fried for so long that the actual chicken inside the wings is dry and crispy then smothered in sauce to mask it instead of being succulent, tender and a whole wing.. I believe perfecting the roast chicken is not an easy task. At Camden Rotisserie they manage to do that. The only fact that it takes up to an hour to receive your chicken shows that it's cooked to order. The skin was crispy and the flesh was juicy. Spot on. I got the gravy sauce which I have to say left me slightly disappointed. Sweet potato fries as a side were nothing special as well. As appetizer we got the buffalo wings, also very good and spicy. So there's a variety of chicken choices (but also some different stuff as well if chicken's not really your thing). And you know, they taste good. There's always some special that you can safely go to if you're out of ideas (also cheaper!) The sole minus is that the place is a bit cramped so it might be hard to get a table at peak times, but that's a minor issue. The Chicken Avocado Wrap is a thing of beauty. It's smooth, fresh and flavoursome but light. I think The Pulled Chicken is what Jesus used on your man, Lazarus. It's super turbo ultra very extra barbecued, and they don't skimp on the cheese either. Loads of flavour, really heavy - good if you're starved or hanging together. Usually, I have to admit defeat and get some of this wrapped up to bring home. Wings are good. Sweet potato fries and regular fries are good too. I've tried most of the salads - they're lovely. I will say that you might want to ask for your dressing on the side, they can be quite generous with it. A star is missing because the cakes here are crap. I don't know what the story is with them - they're so far below the rest of the grub on offer. My last one was a brownie, half chilled, half burned. I feel like they might be microwaved?
