    Super lox on Russian bagel
    Jenn K.

Great bagels, a variety of flavors and other options. Loved the tuna melt, super lox bagel, crab melt and their salads. They have vegan options as well. Loved their veggie cream cheese. Wish there were more locations than the one, but I'm sure it won't be long until other another location or two open. If in Preston, check this place out, you won't be disappointed!

Busy place on a Sunday morning. The bagels were surprising very good. My husband got sausage egg and cheese bagel sandwich. They forgot to put the sausage in it, but when we asked they got the sausage. He enjoyed it. I got the potato bowl, an interesting breakfast bowl with potatoes, nicely caramelized onions, bell peppers and bacon. Topped with fried egg. It was seasoned very well so I enjoyed it. Tea, coffee was pretty good also.

THIS FOOD SLAPS! This was our second time here, everything was amazing. The service, the food, and to top it off the establishment was very clean. We love it here also because our child needs vegan options and they have a variety. The coffee was also so better than Starbucks!!

Not great. Wildly expensive for a bagel shop. Quality of food average most times. Service above average and staff super nice.

It wasn't warm, but it was soft. It was served with an olive oil. Our table ordered the steak, four cheese ravioli, Caesar salad and pasta with butter for the kids. Everything was extremely well! We liked the pasta with butter the best and that was for the kids! Lol. The wine is charged by the ounce. It's almost like a tasting of wines where you can pour it yourself. It was great to allow a chance to try a variety of wines. We stopped in our way to the beach and would like to make it a staple! The steak is not served every night. It is a Thursday-Sunday serving, so it's best to check the special mains as it's not a staple item on the menu.

The cafeteria style wine dispensers could have benefitted from somalier staff to explain what the various labels were and what the wines were about, as well as to recommend pairings. I don't like to be on my phone at a restaurant researching wines, trying to decide which values to explore when I'm unfamiliar with all of them. I think my server was too young to know that much about wines beyond the crib notes. I had the tonno crudo which was a lovely dish, but the olive oil had a bitter metallic taste to it, and since raw tuna and the olive oil were the only two flavors of the dish, the olive oil spoiled the flavor a little bit. I highly recommend McElvoy's superb buttery oil from CA. When you have very few ingredients or processes, as is the case in Italian cooking, each of the ingredients has to be over the top. Perfect . I also had the Pasta Medici with lobster and spinach wrapped up shushi-style in two small sheets of house-made pasta and served upended in a small box. The lobster was good, but the creamed spinach did not taste like Florence's best, and I could taste flour and butter in the undercooked pasta. For a signature dish, I would have expected five star efforts, but on this dish only the lobster was really edible. I really want this place to be a success, and I want to have a great experience there. It feels like a good, well-intentioned crew is still getting its act together and working out the kinks. For a very high-quality food experience the servers also need to be sophisticated to help Interpret the dishes and wine for the diners. Keep trying, Wardroom! You've got a very promising vision. If you could re-introduce humans back into the mix, italian-style, you might have a winner!

This is a tough review to write, because my wife and I have shopped at T&C for many years. But…read morefacts are facts, and rotten customer service is rotten customer service, no matter how you cut it. So, for what it's worth, here goes. On Friday or Saturday, April 12 or 13, 2024, I visited T&C to purchase a large (2 lb) container of chicken salad. I've lost count long ago of the number of times that my wife and I have purchased this product, which, in our opinion, is the best chicken salad to be found in the area. T&C's chicken salad isn't cheap (it was more than $25 for the 2 lb container), but we've always thought that it was worth it. This time, however, something was a bit off with the salad. When my wife opened it the following day to make a sandwich, the salad just didn't smell quite right, and the taste matched--something was a bit off. That's never happened before, but rather than risk an infection by a food-borne pathogen, we chose not to consume any more but rather to return the product for a replacement. That happened today (April 17), or at least I tried to make that happen. Instead, I was met with a rude, utterly unaccommodating individual behind the checkout counter (I don't know whether she was a manager or owner), who abruptly told me that the chicken salad couldn't be returned because it was perishable; that she was unwilling to give any refund to me for the product (I never asked for a refund; I merely wanted a replacement but I could hardly get that out before she stridently jumped in); and that, for my trouble, she'd offer to make a sandwich for me. She further said that the store has this "policy" (the best that I can discern, the "policy" is not to stand behind what they sell), because they have no way of knowing how a food product like this was handled or stored when it left T&C. Fair enough, I told her, but, in my case, I purchased the chicken salad, drove straight home to Oxford (about a 13 minute drive), and placed the container in our refrigerator (which is set to 37 degrees, per the manufacturer's recommendation). The T&C employee/owner replied that "of course, everyone says that," to which I asked whether she was implying that I was lying to her. The interaction went downhill from there, although it's hard to fall from the floor. If this had been a bag of chips or some other, inexpensive product, I wouldn't have bothered. But T&C's large container of chicken salad is north of $25. The right thing to do would have been to take the product back and provide a replacement, which is all that I wanted. This individual, however, thought that the better course was to act rudely, implicitly accuse me of lying, and then, in essence, to tell me to pound sand because this was a "perishable" product. Of course, it's perishable. But that doesn't mean that it can be sold in a state that is or may well be spoiled. Moreover, I wasn't asking T&C to put the product back in the deli for further sale; I was merely asking for a replacement. As I said, we've shopped at T&C for years. Today, they lost a long-standing customer and every ounce of goodwill that they had developed over those years. For the rest of you, buyer beware. T&C doesn't stand by its food products.

Kevin worked with us (remotely since we live in the Boston area) to create a most memorable evening! He suggested we offer the crudite trays by the beverage service area that created a wonderful opportunity to greet guests as they arrived, mix and mingle before sitting for dinner and order a beverage. The table arrangements allowed for not only an intimate setting for dinner (pictured) and the perfect space for toasts and easy conversation. Most importantly, all the guests raved about the menu choices: Braised short ribs - incredible! Broiled Rockfish with Crab - Incredible! Roasted Duck Bread - incredible!
