Not as big as WEM but still super cool. Can be very crampt on weekends looks like. Lots of families there. They have a hot tub, sauna, steam room and a lazy river. They basically have it all. Lanes were closed for dropins. Its a big sports center, if I was in the park more often I woulf check it out. Definitely a gem to check out.

I mainly went for the pool today. The change room had those lockers that you punch in a 4 digit code and it saves it and locks it for you. Just remember the code and your locker number. They have the typical 25 meter pool and a kid pool with water jets and beach entry. I seen something called a 'lazy river' which looked like a sort of maze you could meander through, which was kind of interesting. I think these are all salt water. I believe I seen another pool as well that looked shallow, but deeper then the kid pool. Theres a hot tub thats actually pretty large. I seen a steam room but it was closed. Additionally I seen a water slide, as well as 3 tiers of diving boards. Its not too shabby for catching a swim but it would be nice if they had a sauna.

I booked my daughter in for swimming lessons when the booking opened, no confirmation email came, I went back in and noted one spot taken, but to be safe I booked again still no email, and no additional space taken. I did receive an email asking for feedback on the service right after, not the confirmation email I expected but sometimes wrong emails are sent. After attending this Y location for a period of time I began to feel that something was wrong. I didn't hit the gym as much, the atmosphere was wrong, and I was told that we should know our limits. A gym is to push your limits. To become stronger, to become better than your yesterday. That's when I felt I needed to ask reception to check the lesson booking, there was nothing booked, and nothing available. I will have a disappointed child, and this whole fiasco dysregulated me as my whole schedule has been booked around this lesson time. The NA Y have poor booking systems, I easily booked in lessons in Calgary and many other activities online in other locations. If you are looking to have disappointment head to the NA Ys and you will definitely receive it. I believe it was the manager I dealt with in this situation and his custoner service skills are definitely lacking. I then spoke to a member of the Y team and she handle my cancelling of memberships in a kind and respectful way. I only really got the membership for my daughter and swimming lessons, it was another expense that was dipping into credit but necessary for child mental health. If she doesn't have the swim lessons then I have no need of the membership. I also feel amazingly relieved as I didn't feel comfortable in this Y location.

After working my way through 2 years of nasty grief and health problems and other assorted issues (thanks, pandemic), I was determined to turn over a new leaf and begin really taking care of myself. Over the summer, I began walking around my neighbourhood, but I knew I wouldn't be able to keep it up over the winter. This place is so incredibly close that it fit the bill for contintuing my commitment to fitness. The indoor track is now my second home. I do at least a kilometer each time, and I like that they reverse the direction each day so you get a different view. It also overlooks the activity in the gym below, so you can chuckle at the kids doing karate or playing indoor soccer in the wintertime. There's plenty of exercise equipment. The Lifecycles are great because you can watch TV or internet, and power your usage with your movement. There's the studio where they have all the classes (Zumba, cycle, etc), the gym for basketball, volleyball, etc, and the workout room. Last weekend I got brave enough to try the pool. A little chilly when I got in, but the water was actually pretty warm once I was in a while. The day locker rooms are nearly immaculate. I like that there's a wet and dry locker area, with the handy cords for your locker key that you can put around your wrist while you work out. For an additional price, there are enhanced locker rooms with overnight lockers, towel service, etc. Everyone I've met here, staffwise, has been friendly and approachable. Make sure to wipe down the equipment after you use it. One of these days, I'm going to try out the smoothie bar in the lobby. Can't speak to the daycare or children's programs since I don't have kids, but I've seen all kinds of activities for them in the gym since I've been coming. If I was a parent, I'd definitely consider enrolling my kid in some classes or daycare here.

The MacEwan sports centre, which is located downtown, just east of some of the university admin…read more buildings, is a great place to work out or meet for a game of badminton or tennis. Parking's a bit of an issue, but if you're lucky enough to get a meter spot close to the entrance from the back at around 105 St, then you've got it made. The badminton courts are usually half-full, so just bring a racquet and shoes and you're ready to go. The work-out facilities are good, and the price is right. It's a great alternative for both students and the rest of the commmunity to membership at a private club or older city facilities. This sports centre is fairly new and has everything you need to get in a good, fast workout in a clean, spacious environment, without all the testosterone or intimidating buffness of more serious gyms.

They do have peak hours and non-peak hours, and students are only allowed during a certain time. The best time is during the day around 2 or 3pm. It was least busy at these times so you didn't have to worry about waiting to use some equipment since the place is smaller than you would expect. If you are a student here you should definitely take advantage of the facility.

For the noise and crowd: I plan my workout time around rush hours and I completely avoid the place when there is a tournament. The customer service is awesome and the staff is always nice and helpful! I haven't had any bad experiences related to customer service! If you plan it right, you can enjoy your workouts here! Pretty sizable, its weird how half the pools in this city are tiny and the others are gigantic. I mistook the hot tub for a pool at first. Bad vision without my specs. Hot tub wasn't too hot but it might've been the day. Theres 3 pools I think. Kids, lanes and a diving area. This place has a slide and a lot more. In the swimming lanes, someone had an under water radio, which was weird but cool! Couldn't hear it above water, only below. I didn't see a sauna but there is a steam room. Every 40 seconds it was blasting heat into the room pshhh! Pshhh! I found it a bit tricky to find the shower by the steam but its probably just my bad eyes again.
