Very disappointing. Bowling alley food is usually good. After them not serving food for so long we were so excited to eat there. We won't do that again. Also no beer. We like to go with friends and have a few beers and bowl. We have gone several times but usually go to Elizabethtown so we can snack and drink while we play. They are losing a lot of money not having food and drinks. We will go to bowl but we would be spending a lot more money there if they were full service

We went for lunch around 12:15 on Tuesday. Everyone was really friendly. The waitress came over and took our order quickly. Some time went by and I could hear the waitress telling the man that cooked our food something was mixed up. They talked a minute and she brought my husband his plate. He ordered the Strike Out Burger (w/cheese) and an order of crinkle fries. She said mine would be just a minute. She came back very quickly with my plate; she walked away to greet a couple that had just walked in. I looked at my plate and then I looked at my husband. He said I think they forgot some of your fries. I literally had less than half of what he had, and it was clearly the bottom of the bag because neither fry was longer than a pen cap. Definitely not a $3 portion. But whatever... he said he'd share his fries with me. We were on our way out of town so we didn't have any extra time. As the waitress walked by, I asked if I could get pickles and mayo (both of which were missing from my hamburger). She brought them back quickly. My husband said that his burger was decent and hot. I could not say the same about mine. There is no possible way that my burger had just been made... NO WAY. It tasted and looked like it had been cooked earlier and then "reheated". I put reheated in quotes because my burger was not the least bit hot. Nothing about it was good. I ate a few bites but it was super tough, cold and had zero salt. I ate my fries and some of my husband's and I was done at that point. I know. I should have said something right then, but we were on our way to pick our daughter up and at that point I just wanted to leave. I saw my friend today (the one who told me about this place) and told him about my experience. He apologized and said he wasn't surprised. He said the last few times he's been recently, the food was not good at all. I'm not sure if there is a different cook, or what, but clearly something has changed. I always go back to a place a second time just to give them a second chance because any place can have a bad day. Maybe I came on a bad day or maybe this is their new normal.

Bar up here to serve you your libations. If you come here for an event, it is most likely in the downstairs area. If you are come for an event, use the other entrances to enter. I had no idea about this until I had gone upstairs and they directed me to the area. Your best bet, stay inside here as much as you can. Outside has an odor, so yeah, keep yourself inside, that's the only bad thing about this area. I guess the odor all depends on which way the wind blows. The downstairs portion of this place is huge. Offers a lot of options and is a great place to hold an event. There is a bar down here as well serving up your drinks. But there are more activities down here than just the bowling lanes upstairs. Darts, pinball, karaoke, pool tables, and probably the better of the floors here. Not taking anything away from the lanes upstairs, but you can only bowl so many games. If you are looking for a place that will offer you more things to do to fill your entire night.

3.5 overall…read more Another visit to Vernon Lanes for both bowling and dinner. We were there on a Wednesday night and even at 7 PM, we were the only lane reservation. It was quite some time before we saw any other bowlers. I do wish that you could rent (during some of the weeknights) by game instead of by the hour. It's really tough to get in a full game and paying for two hours of bowling isn't always in the budget. Otherwise, no issue with the bowling lanes or shoe rental. Food was hit or miss this time. The buffalo chicken dip was a hit amongst several of us; however, my husband only ate a few bites of his fish and said that it was much too fishy. The burger also received mixed reviews. We didn't realize it came as two patties. While it was a very hefty portion, half of the group felt like it was boring. Service was quick and friendly. The parking lot does get quite full, especially if there is trivia downstairs. You may need to locate a spot along the street rather than their parking lot.

I got there and used the bathroom, the first stall had poop all over the toilet (unfortunately people are gross so I didnt blame the place). I reported it. Games dont work. Sanitary pad on floor. Empty drinks everywhere and trash. Bunch of kids working that obviously dont care. Manager Nick Clue immediately gave me my money back- did not try to remedy the situation which tells me he doesnt care either. Such a crap way to spend my mothers day AND anniversary.

I've also found it helps to set the timer when hanging out, making it part of the day instead of the ... main event. Many games earn tickets and redeeming them has typically been fast and easy. My teen son enjoys grabbing candy. If you're not interested to eat off the restaurant menu, we appreciate the pizza. It's not life changing but we enjoyed it as a quick snack. Huge parking lot so never an issue to find a spot. Service at the counter to purchase game cards and bowling times runs well, even when the line gets long.

The interior was nice and clean and the woman at the desk was extremely helpful. At $2.50 a game, it isn't too pricey. It wasn't crowded at all for a Saturday night and you can get that nostalgic feeling you got as a little kid when you'd go bowling. The only bad part was that they put us on lane 19 and it was acting up, so we had to keep stopping the game to get someone to fix the lane for us. If you go to Dixie Bowl, be sure to tell them NOT to give you lane 19 haha

We had our sons first birthday party here, I made the reservation's online and you out the name and shoe size and everything transfers over to the lane when it's time to bowl. I paid approx $110 our reservation which included pizzas, drinks, table, 2 lanes with 2 hours AND shoes! It was super spacious, and I loved the game room lol it was small but there were a lot of good games. I can't say enough everyone was so sweet and eager to help! We also ordered chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks (which were delicious) and onion rings. Everything was fresh and had no issues at all! Thank you Dixie Bowl!! I will definitely refer them to any family and friends.
