Menu item of quesadilla with add-ons of peppers, onions, and chicken.

Ordered the menu item of quesadilla and added on options of peppers and onions as well as chicken. Quesadilla arrived with salsa, sour cream, and lettuce. Nicely prepared and tasted fresh, hot, and cheesy. Bar staff are welcoming. Venue is always awesome with the cool retro vibe. Our group of 10 had a great time playing competitive darts and enjoyed nachos, burgers, fries, and chicken tenders as well as a variety of cold draft beers.

First time at Vernon lane with co workers after work on a Friday evening. Service was good, as we all had a drink before bowling. Something to note, you have to manually enter your score into the monitor after knocking down pins (personally I wasn't a fan of this). The downstairs room has a pool table, dart boards, pinball machines and a foosball table. There was a band performing downstairs too. They have $5 bowling on Sunday and Monday for healthcare workers so I could see myself returning then!

    Fun times with friends!

So. Much. Fun! Went with a group of friends and bowled for 2 hours, but it felt like 20 minutes. None of us were bowlers, but that didn't stop the fun! After, we sat at the bar and had a drink and the hummus and beer cheese. Definitely an upgrade from any bowling lane I habe ever been too!.

If you're looking to add interesting activity to your night out, Vernon Lanes has always got something going on. Odd comedy shows, music, and then of course bowling upstairs and some arcade games downstairs. The ambiance is typically lively and fun. Bartenders are sweet and efficient. The food is pretty standard fare, nothing to brag about, but that's not really why you're here, is it? Overall, iconic.

Vernon lanes is a good spot for bowling locally. They under 10 lanes, so be sure to book in advance. I've never had any luck getting a lane just by walk-in. Give how small the venue is, it feels a bit cozier and more hip than other spots around town. They have a full bar, and it's a good spot for pint or a soft drink. The food is not that great - tried the nachos and spinach artichoke dip, which were both cold and underwhelming. The kids meals were fine but also a bit spartan. Service is pleasant but really understaffed and backed up if there's any sort of crowd.

Wow! I had always wanted to go to Vernon Lanes and finally went with a bunch of friends to celebrate my birthday. The staff here is SO friendly, kind, and accommodating. They were responsive to all my questions, made us fabulous drinks the night we went, and everything was affordable. The vintage feel here is fabulous and it is definitely a treat to visit this piece of Louisville history. Drinks here are affordable and they offer everything from well drinks to craft cocktails. I heard great things about the food! 10/10!

First off let me start with they messed up my order. I wanted a hot latte and they gave me cold. Now they did remake it at no charge. So I was happy with that. My next negative is that they charged me $3 for literally a tiny piece of bacon. It was literally one strip of bacon broke in half. I was suppose to get 2-eggs. I guess these were made in Ethiopia cause there were definitely lacking. Not worth the extra $3 at all. On the positive note, the bowling was fun. Lanes were totally dry. However, still had a good time bowling.

Amazing gravy at Gravy Fest 2026--looking forward to it being added to the menu!

Had their mushroom gravy at Gravy Fest--it was my overall favorite! They told me it will be coming soon to their regular menu over schnitzel! Looking forward to having it again.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Vernon Lanes over the weekend. I've been wanting to try it for a while and we finally made it. We had a lane reserved online and it was quick and easy to get shoes and get checked in. We ordered food while we were bowling and my grilled cheese and chips were delicious! There's also a downstairs that has some pool tables and darts, and it looked like you could get food and drinks down there as well. We can't wait to go back!

    Schnitzel. So good!

This was a fun night with my colleagues. Vernon Lanes is a small bowling alley with around 8 lanes, a nice menu and bar service. On the bottom floor is a wide open bar that would be good for events. We had 8 people and were given one lane because one was out of commission. I didn't mind because we got to bowl just enough. Everyone ordered drinks including beer, margaritas and other mixed drinks. The margarita wasn't great but it was fine since I only had one. They keep water out so people can self serve. The facility is unique and the staff was friendly. You reserve the lane by the hour so if you have just a few people you can bowl a good bit. We also had food. I had the schnitzel sandwich which was awesome. Others tried different items with varying degrees of satisfaction. The person who ordered the nachos said they were super spicy. The shrimp po boy was a hit.

Honestly I thought this place was gonna be a dive bowling alley from the outside but the inside says different. Customers were dressed cute and the bowling alley itself was very sophisticated. It only has 8 bowling lanes- so unless you have a reservation on the weekends you aren't bowling until about 11PM or 3 hours on the waiting list. That's where they lost a star for me. Drinks were decent- I got an espresso martini and it was tasty. The gin drink was very plain and nothing to write home about. My friend got their Paloma and it was pretty gross, just tasted like simple syrup. We didn't try the food so I can't comment on that and I can't comment on the actual bowling lanes since we waited 3 hours and didn't get to bowl :( I would recommend this place, staff was friendly and it's a cool place to hang out but make sure you have reservations for the lanes or get there at least 3 hours before you are wanting to bowl to be added to the walk in list.

Vernon has always had friendly staff and food was consistent until our last two visits. We ordered the shrimp po'boy both visits and the shrimp were tough and over cooked. The fries on our last visit were cold like they came straight out of a refrigerator. The servers acted bothered anytime we ordered more drinks. The worst was being charged a group rate for 4 people which was considerably more than for only 2. This place is going downhill, hopefully they can turn it around.

Would like to have a rail or step for my feet. I'm too short (5'4") to reach that foot bar on the stool.
    Rebecca T.

Had no idea they had a massive bar area downstairs! Went to see a DJ, and had a very nice time. The bartenders were very attentive. The bar and bathrooms were clean. They had pool tables and dart boards. Seemed like plenty of room to dance. My only critique would be the lights were up too high for a DJ set. Would have been nice if it were a little darker in there. And I would recommend putting hooks (for jackets/purses) under the bar and adding a step/rail for feet. Short people like me need that extra support.

Initially we were going to share a pizza but since they offered a 10 inch we both went our own way. Bestie ordered the Hawaiian & I chose the meatball. While noth pizzas were yummy, the meatball was clearly the better of both. The crust was seasoned perfectly and crunchy but not hard. The meatballs had a perfect flavor, moist and covered with cheese. I mean, how can you go wrong with cheesy meatballs? I also ordered a Tito's Island Punch and let me say, it packed a delightful, delectable & delicious punch! I'm a lightweight but it was so good that I almost ordered another one! They may be a chain but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of our food, our server Chelle (not sure if this is her correct spelling but she was perfectly lovely) and the price point. I would definitely dine here again.

Needless to say, corporate never reached out despite my attempting to contact them through the website. Find a different place for happy hour and dinner. I went to the restaurant during happy hour on a Wednesday evening. It wasn't very busy and I took a seat at the bar. The bartender was very knowledgeable and took my drink and food order. It was about 5:30 pm. More people came in and were seated at the bar. They ordered food and drink. I ordered another beer at 5:50 when the person sitting next to me got their order of wings that had been put it 10 minutes after mine. It took me 10 minutes to get the attention of the bartender and inquire about my food. She informed me that the manager would be bringing my food right out. During this time, the completely intoxicated person sitting adjacent to me, offered to sell me weed, coke or fentanyl. Great restaurant atmosphere. At 6:20, I was finally able to get the bartender's attention. I asked her to close out my check, and have the manager see me. She had a puzzled look on her face, and then noticed I hadn't received my food order. The manager arrived shortly thereafter. I informed him of the communication lapses between the bartender and the kitchen, and the food order that never arrived. I asked him to close out my check. When he presented me with the check I had been charged for the two beers and the food. I informed him of the error and said I would not be paying for the food since I never received it. He looked shocked and then corrected the bill. After I signed the check, I informed him that he could have done a better job in this situation by comping me a beer or offering to make things right. He just stared at me. Customer service 0. Food quality 0. Happy hour prices 10.

Tucked away on Frankfort Avenue, it's a little off the beaten path, and parking can be an adventure. There's a small lot by the restaurant with overflow parking further down the hill. Somehow we managed to snag the only open space right outside the front door, which felt like winning a very specific Louisville lottery. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and the place was already buzzing. It was packed with locals, which is usually a good sign. While our table was being bussed, three different employees checked to make sure we were being helped. We let them know we were just a little early and waiting on our table, but it spoke volumes about the attentiveness of the staff. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a neighbourhood pizza spot: relaxed, lively, and unpretentious. The soundtrack quietly floating through the speakers was a crate-digger's delight, full of songs that have been sampled throughout hip-hop history. Hearing Lynn Collins' Think (About It) while waiting for dinner felt particularly apt following the recent passing of Rob Base. The song's iconic break became the foundation of It Takes Two, one of hip-hop's most recognisable records, and it was a nice reminder of how deeply great music connects generations. To start, we ordered the Olives & Togarashi, a bowl of Castelvetrano olives coated in a wonderfully aromatic blend of spices with notes of fennel, sesame and citrus. My son tried his first olive and was genuinely shocked by the flavour. He'll come around eventually. For the main event, we ordered three large pizzas: the DOP Margherita, the Funghi and the Original Sting. The DOP Margherita showcases imported buffalo mozzarella from Campania alongside basil and San Marzano tomatoes. The Funghi is loaded with an incredible blend of mushrooms, taleggio, pecorino cream and mozzarella. The Original Sting combines soppressata, fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato and spicy local honey in a sweet-and-savoury combination that completely works. Now, let's talk about the crust. It is perfect. Pillowy and light, yet substantial enough to give you that satisfying chew. The wood-fired oven creates just the right amount of charred bubbling around the edges. Our server offered house-made ranch and other dipping sauces for the crust, but we politely declined. This pizza doesn't need any enhancers. The balance of flavours across all three pies was exceptional. I've eaten pizza all over the world, and Pizza Lupo belongs in that conversation. It really is that good. We had a plan: sample all three pizzas and leave just enough room to split the tiramisu. Thankfully, we stuck to it. The tiramisu was fresh, light and beautifully balanced. Not overly sweet, nicely moist, with just enough espresso flavour coming through. It was the perfect finish to an outstanding meal. The service was fast without feeling rushed, friendly without feeling scripted, and genuine throughout the evening. We left full, not bloated, and happy as spring lambs, already talking about what we'd order next time. We'll defo be back. Cheers, Sam

We arrived about 7 on Saturday night, it was busy, but we were able to be seated within 10 min. Amazing location with street parking available. We went with original, and it was perfect crust, with a chewy edge. Louisville style is two layers of cheese and toppings, with a slightly thicker than thin crust. We loved it, but it's very filling. Lots of leftovers, which is never bad. We always get 16in to maximize our slice to pizza ratio. Service was fast and attentive, their pizzas do take longer than your average, but it was worth it. My book club met at Impellizzeri's this week, and upon discovering several of us have dietary limitations, the server and kitchen staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and ensure our ongoing health. A wonderful kitchen wizard ventured out into the dining room to talk to us personally, and confirmed that all the traditional pizza doughs, pastas, and red sauces are vegan. He offered to create a custom pasta dish with a variety of vegetables (spaghetti pomarola with garlic, spinach, and mushrooms), and ensured that the breadsticks that accompany the pasta dish (traditionally made with garlic butter and cheese) were vegan, prepared in a separate location in the kitchen to ensure no dairy contamination. For those with other food allergies and intolerances they ensured every detail was correct, even noticing that a pizza that was inadvertently prepared with an offending food item, and remaking it before it was even finished baking. Pricing is incredibly reasonable for the quantity and the truly excellent service, which is what truly made the experience special. My pasta dish was tasty. Is it the best pasta I've ever had? No - but it wasn't trying to be. What Impellizzeri's does well is serve good food at reasonable prices, in a location and with people who have an eye for detail and a passion for excellent customer service. Well done.
