Can you re-key a door lock that you lost the keys to? Asking for a friend. These guys can. I took one the deadbolt off the door and 10 min after walking in to B&B voila, had new keys for the old deadbolt. They also have made copies and sold me locks for so much cheaper than the big depot stores. Fast, no nonsense service. Super fairly priced and if I ever spring for a safe, they have nice ones for around $300 so I'm here. House keys run like a buck furry pet copy. The only thing I warn against is that from day to day the people behind the counter vary so if you get a quote for something on Monday, it may cost more or less on Thursday when you come back to get it done so best to do things there and then. read more

After researching how to make an extra Honda Accord Coupe remote and key and seeing that B & B Lock was able to cut and program one, I bought a key off of ebay and brought it to their shop. They recommended using a Genuine Honda Key FOB, but I had already purchased an aftermarket one with OEM Honda parts. There was about a $10.00 difference for the keys. I don't remember who was helping me, but there are four guys who work at the shop. The first guy who helped me was able to cut it, but was having problems programming the key. About an hour later, another guy came back from a job and took over trying to program the key, but he was having the same problems. The portable computer that connects to the car then programs the key was saying "Access Denied". They B & B guys called the company and were told that they have never seen this problem before and that their software update should have been new enough to program the key. Anyways, B & B updated their software to the newest "Beta" version, but the key still would not program. While waiting, I purchased a door lever with key lock for my garage door. It was made by a company called Cal-Royal and was about $24.00 plus I paid for it to be re-keyed for $7.00. It's compatible with Kwikset and Defiant (Home Depot brand). It was an impulse buy, so I didn't do any research on prices, but the price seemed fair. (I looked online later and it was a fair price). So, about four hours later, B & B was unable to program the Honda key. The normal fee to cut and program the key is $85.00 and they charged me $40.00 since they were unable to program it. Ultimately, it was not the key (Genuine or Aftermarket), but the car that was the problem. I'll have to go to the Honda Dealer, which is something I was trying to avoid. BEWARE OF THIS SHOP!!!! This report is accurate and 100% true. OVER PRICED, RUDE, AND TRIED TO CHANGE PRICING ON ME AFTER I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR A SAFE AND INSTALLATION. FOR KEYS THEY ARE FINE, FOR LARGER ITEMS, ESPECIALLY IF SERVICE IS NEEDED, BEWARE! I had visited their shop to buy a good safe for my home. They recommended a particular model for roughly just over 2k which I paid quite a bit for. All in all it looked like a good safe but it weighed over 700 lbs. They said that the cost for installation was an extra 150.00 provided I take the safe home myself. I'd need about 3 people total but they would help us load it. I came a few days later with 2 men. The store owner still helped with his worker to load it. They had a hand truck that had a power lift on it so they used it so that no heavy lifting was required. I asked them to bring it when they came soon after so that we could unload it just as easily. Again, I had already paid for the safe and installation and was driving the safe home using my own truck to save money. When they arrived they offered to help unload using their hand truck. We then rolled it into my apartment and they began installation. It was the owner and his employee or son, not sure which. My workers were on stand-by just in case more hands were needed. All in all they took just over two hours to do the install from when we arrived. The owner called me later and said that I should pay an extra 200. because it took them more time than they expected. I was not okay with this. Im sure anyone reading this does not appreciate being told of extra charges after a deal has been made. Thats not how to do business and is shady. I told them that they needed to stick to their price as agreed. Its not my fault if they miscalculated the installation time. Thats not my fault. I told them they cannot add fees after a deal and expect the customers to pay this. Its their miscalculation and not mine after all. The owner argued with me and I told him that 150.00 for 2 guys to install for just over 2 hours was nothing to be upset about, AND that you can't change your pricing after you do a deal. The owner is Chinese, and a little difficult to understand with his accent although he was clearly trying to hustle me. I explained business ethics and fairness to him but he didn't care. I then even offered to bring him 50.00 extra. I told him it was not something I felt was fair but I'd do it to keep a good relationship. This fool was so stubborn he said NO, I don't want your 50.00. He preferred to be a victim than a wise business man and fair human being. They also gave me a used safe and not a new one. I wasn't happy about it but I accepted it so thats okay. Then later when I went back to ask for some help, they turned me away and refused to give me business even though I spent over 2400k at their shop. How rude and obnoxious. FTG! They are overpriced anyways. I found the same safe for several hundreds less, and newer at another local and US based store. Look around and Im sure you will find better deals and service than these guys. They are crooked in some cases. They may have some happy customers, but I spent a lot and when it came to service and doing the right thing, I saw their lack of integrity. read more

LOVE this place. I stumbled across this place because I lost my car keys. They quoted me $145 for my Civic so I came in and got it done. Going to USC, the area surrounding it is known to be unsafe so what B&B did was reprogram my entire car so if anyone found my car key, they wouldn't be able to start it! Having that peace in mind was great and at no extra charge according to the owner. The person who helped me was Bryan and he was super kind and helpful. Although it literally took an entire day to do my car key, Bryan was and apologetic for taking so long. I also got 5 copies of keys attached to my car keys and priced at $1.50 each, it was not a bad deal! Thank you Bryan for being super amazing! Will be coming back here if I need it! read more

This place is the best! They are so honest and helpful. Showed me how to remove my gate knob so that I can bring it into the store and saved me the $50 travel service fee that everyone quoted me. And changing out the lock is even cheaper when I bring the knob in. They are very knowledgeable and didn't try to upsell me. They try to help me save money. I always have a great service there. My uncle speaks Cantonese and Vietnamese, so my experience was easy because he did the talking for me. That being said, we had a repairman come when the garage chain broke, and we've had no problems since. That was last summer 2017. A couple years ago, this store also help set up the driveway gate and the motor. You have to park on the street, but it's pretty empty around there. read more

Called today and spoke to Van about issues I was having with my garage cables being tangled and that the garage door needed to be adjusted. Was given a quote of $120-150, which was fine. Technician David shows up about an hour later to the property and gives me a quote of $140 after seeing the garage door, which was fine. David proceeds to untangle the cables but was unable to adjust the garage door. Attempted to adjust the garage door for about 15 minutes. I stepped outside of my garage for 2 minutes and came back to see him packing up his truck to leave. I then tested my garage clicker and the garage still did not work. David then turns to me and says that is odd, I tested it 3 times before you came back and it worked (hmm...lol didn't work the whole time but when I walked away for 2 minutes he thought it worked??). Ten minutes later after going through the same motions, David turns to me and says your machine is broken. BUT still charged me $120. Basically, I paid $120 to have garage cables untangled and the ability to manually use a garage door. I called Van back and he said I was quoted for untangling the cables, not fixing the garage door. Hmm, that sounds really odd. I have no experience with garage doors, why would I care for you to even come over? Just so I can manually use a garage door? Save your money and go elsewhere. Be weary, I am guessing they will charge you whatever is quoted and say something else is broken. read more

Deadbolt replacement for a residential door. I was going to do it myself, but this was a special lock that might require a retrofit, so I'm glad I called B & B instead. Yup, adjustments to the door were required for this lock to fit properly. Paul was a terrific technician. He arrived when promised; he even called to let me know he had arrived and was outside the residence. Paul really knew his stuff. Fast installation. Efficient and friendly. Answered my pesky questions. And make appropriate adjustments to the door with proper tools. Even did a cleanup of the metal shavings and wood chips...shaking out the rug outside and vacuuming. PROS: Paul thoroughly tested the lock with both keys. He could tell the lock wasn't moving smoothly into place, so he fine-tuned the fit until it slid into place easily. He was precise and he cared to do the installation correctly. This impressed me. He also gave my mom a senior discount when she asked for one. Good on him for making a customer happy and maintaining good customer relations for possible future business. Well done, Paul. OVERALL: Good competitive prices (House call and installation are separate charges). Technician is a perfectionist (YAY!!)...and quick. Also arrived within the time promised. My garage broke and I could no longer open the garage. I had no idea who to call but happen to find this place. This place was recommended by a friend whom had their garage repaired recently. I thought it was gonna be hard to find someone to come out for repair, but I was able to schedule for a guy to come out the next day. The guy came out and said it was a simple fix. The plastic latch that hooks to the top of the long axel broke. It didn't take him longer than 30 mins to fix it. He noticed that the axel was set higher than it should and this is what is causes a hard open and closure of the door. He made the recommendation to make the proper adjustment so it closes more softly. I never knew that was the reason why the garage door slammed. But that did the trick. I thought this will cause me a couple hundred of dollars. But he only charged me $75 for parts and labor!! Can you believe that???? I was so amazed how dirt cheap it was. I would highly recommend them for any future garage repairs. They rock!!! read more

B&B Lock and Security worked on replacing my locks and door handles at home and helped make me a spare key for my Honda. They are very professional and get the job done. The owner personally came to my house, all the way out in West Covina to replace and fix my locks. If that isn't a professional hard-working locksmith, than I don't know what is. This was my first experience with B&B, and of course, I was extremely satisfied with their work. So when I ended up buying a pre-owned car, and was given only one car key, I knew I needed a spare just in case. This is when I contacted B&B with knowing my previous experience with them, I knew I wanted them to make another key for me. I went to their location, off of Valley Blvd in Alhambra and there they were able to make me a replacement key with the chip, cheaper than what the dealership would have charged me. They finished the entire process under an hour and I was able to leave satisfied a second time. Their prices are very reasonable and their work is reliable. Came to get some keys cut. Prices are reasonable and the guy was friendly. It took a bit because he had a customer with him. I had a car key cut and a few random keys. After he cut it he asked if I knew how to program it which I did. I thought that was nice though. He said if I couldn't get it to work bring it back which was also nice. I had to come here because I needed a Toyota key cut. If I just needed regular keys I'd probably would have just gone to a kiosk. Same price and quicker. I've been getting my keys made here for years in addition to purchasing key ID tags, etc etc. My deadbolt and knob was on their last legs and B&B came to the rescue. It helped that I'm located like a block away but still, the service was fast and a good price. Some places wanted to charge me over double what B&B charged. I have a very rare car, a 2004 Infiniti M45. Because of this, trying to find information on how to program the keyfob is virtually impossible. Willy spent hours on end with me trying to help me but nothing worked. In the end, he found a solution for me and that was to duplicate my spare key (the fobs can't be duplicated). Going back and forth between several customers, I knew they were busy but he tried his best to help me out as soon as possible. It is virtually impossible to find a shop nowadays that will spend hours of their precious time with you to diagnose a problem you might have, and I can say with complete confidence that these guys are one of the very few shops left that provide this kind of service and connection to the customer. I've been driving around a ghetto car key. The thing is that the actual key detached from the remote part (not broken it just popped off somehow) ANYWAY. I somehow dropped the metal part and I thought I was totally screwed. Thank goodness I found this place! I still had the remote part and a spare key (yes I know I could have just used my spare but it's not as easy as it sounds. Personal reasons. ANYWAY!) So he was able to make my key and transfer everything from my remote shell into a new one all for $30! This is a really cool little mom and pop locksmith shop. Parking can be difficult but just keep looking and you'll find a street spot. Took in what I thought was a broken lock for a replacement which turned out to be I had a bad key copy made. The lady behind the counter saved me lots of money and knew right away it was just the key and not the lock. Got 3 keys made and she only charged me for 2 but I still gave her money for 3. So I called them early in the afternoon to have them meet me at my house upon my arrival from the office. But the KeyMaster was a lil late due to the person taking my order mistaking my street name for Nine, opposed to Vine . . . Nonetheless, Mr. KeyMaster shows up, dismantles my deadbolt & doorknob to have it "re-keyed," which he does in his mobile van that has all he needs to take care of business. He asks me how many copies of the key I wanted (he charges $1.50 per key), I told him 2. I then asked if he could re-cut my original keys, since I'm familiar with their designs at a glance. He said he could and he did. All in all, he was at my house for 20 mins., 5 keys re-cut and they all worked w/out a flaw. Rate was $75.00 . . . not bad for quick and efficient service!!! I highly recommend B & B to whom-ever needs their services. Oh yeah, they also install garage doors, which they did a few years ago at my place.
