I found this shop instead and had a completely different experience. It seems to be run by a husband and wife team, and they were both so kind and welcoming. He explained I didn't need to replace the lock and he could make a key by doing an impression of the lock. I came in around 3pm, so he had it ready the next day. The price was very reasonable (much cheaper than the first place), and the service was excellent. The store is also well stocked with door knobs, padlocks, and other home security items. I was looking for a hard to find garage door hinge. I first went to Home Depot, and they didn't have it.. A kind lady working at Home Depot behind her desk saw me and offered to help. When she realized they didn't carry that hinge in store, she recommended B&B and even called them for me. I went there and sure enough to my surprise and delight, they had the hard to find part! I love this key place, HIGHLY recommended! I went to Home Depot to make duplicates of my keys. They only had a few choices to pick from and I remember I had gone to this mom and pop shop years ago. It took me about 30 minutes of googling key shops in the Alhambra area and I had flashbacks when I saw this place on Google. I went in on a Saturday afternoon and surely enough, they had hundreds of choices to pick from. The prices vary from $5-$10 I believe depending on which design you pick. I should have came here first before wasting my time at 2 different Home Depot locations. This is THE place to get key copies. I do wonder why they are no longer open on the weekends. I still need to make a few extra key copies but the store hours have changed. I see that they are only open until 5:00 PM on weekdays and are now closed on weekends. Unfortunately my 9am-5pm job doesn't allow me the time to come in to the store during weekdays and they are closed weekends. read more

Family owned and operated. Very helpful and great workmanship. I needed my locks rekeyed because I wanted them to use the same key. Unfortunately the garage knob/lock was a different brand (all locks need to be the same brand - Schlage, Kwikset, etc - in order to use the same key). They suggested going to Home Depot to buy the door knob/lock because it may be cheaper and they could do the rekey, so all locks would usenthe same key. I come here all the time for all my keys that needs to be duplicated. They duplicated pretty much 99% of the keys i bring in. The keys that couldnt be duplicated are either the RFID ones or the southco keys - but the southco keys are generic, mass produced keys that you can pretty much get online- and there are codes to look those up, too. They also have an assortment of locks as well that you can pick from. Also, a service they have that I havent really seen from the other reviews that i want to mention is that if you bring them a lock with a piece of a key that broke and is stuck inside, they can remove it for you and you can continue to use the lock again. I had a broken key stuck in a cam lock, and instead of getting a new lock and re-keying to match the existing locks, they just took the stuck piece out and i put it back into the latch to use again. These guys are great, friendly - they know what they are doing and they get the job done quick. read more

When my Honda remote keys no longer worked on opening the doors or trunk, I visited my Honda service guy James at H H Motor Service. James recommended B&B Lock & Security nearby, also on Valley Blvd. At B&B I was told that the chip in one key malfunctioned and could not be repaired. The other just needed a battery. (I actually bought a new battery elsewhere, and put it in but may have drained it because of the malfunctioned remote chip). I acquired another remote key and came back to have it programmed. 02/18/2021 My rolling garage door won't open. I contacted some board members of my HOA to see if they had any good experience with garage door companies. I was referred to B & B Lock and Security said that they fixed a number of customers in my complex. I called them and gave a call back number, they called me back in 30 minutes. Gave my address and what the issue is. They said sounds like the springs broke that will cost $190 made a appointment to came over and get this done. It took less than an hour to install new springs, they lubricated the track rollers and balanced the door as well. I'm very happy with the service that i've received gave me a one warranty. read more

B & B Locks has always met my needs when it comes to fixing locks, changing locks, selling locks, and when I need another remote for garage door opener and/or for a security gate. Manufacturers throughout the years come and go. They obsolete and come out with new model numbers for everything. I'm happy to say that B & B is good at cross referencing part numbers per the manufacturer, and even trouble shoot issues that might involve a garage door or evene programming a new remote. They are knowledgeable. Nowadays their store mainly carries door locks and and so many different styles of safes. Their prices are decent. Maybe a bit less expensive than Home Depot and Lowe's. But basically I come to get knowledge to troubleshoot issues that needs to be resolve. They are also locksmiths who will go to your home via appointment to fix garage doors, re-key a lock, or change a new lock at a reasonable cost. I've been using them for the past twenty years! This was the go to place for all of my parent's locks and keys. Whenever an employee would quit or get dismissed, they would rekey the locks on the doors of their business. Whenever we moved to a new place, my husband and I always rekeyed the locks. It's a lot more cost effective than replacing the locks. I also like having the same key for the locks throughout the household. I called numerous locations so that I could compare their fees per visit and lock. I then remembered B&B Lock and Security. I should have known that they had the best prices. The locksmith rekeyed numerous locks for us. He also made additional keys for the locks that were rekeyed. About 15 minutes after he left, I realized that I had missed a door that needed to be rekeyed. I called B&B, and within minutes they sent the locksmith back. I called them Monday and they came on Tuesday. I locked my keys in my office and door keys were in my office. I couldn't get in.5 I called Monday morning and they were completely booked. They came Tuesday. We also had one front door that was broken. They replaced the new locked and then the back door was not broken but it was not a moving handle so there is a good chance it can break in the future. So I decided to replace two new locks one broken one and one still working. My questions is why wouldn't they leave me the good one? Can you re-key a door lock that you lost the keys to? Asking for a friend. These guys can. I took one the deadbolt off the door and 10 min after walking in to B&B voila, had new keys for the old deadbolt. They also have made copies and sold me locks for so much cheaper than the big depot stores. Fast, no nonsense service. Super fairly priced and if I ever spring for a safe, they have nice ones for around $300 so I'm here. House keys run like a buck furry pet copy. The only thing I warn against is that from day to day the people behind the counter vary so if you get a quote for something on Monday, it may cost more or less on Thursday when you come back to get it done so best to do things there and then. read more

These guys have been around for years. They have the copied the Hardest keys for me. All House keys, auto keys(original Ferrari /Lambo had to be ordered, way less than dealer) alarm and transponder keys for new Lexus /Toyota. They have rekeyed and changed locks for me from Santa Monica to Chino Hills. They even have garage clickers big and small, repaired /replaced garage doors for me as well. I trust these guys for years. They can sometimes do late night repairs for an additional cost for emergencies if necessary. read more
