That changed with our most recent visit. The technician who had been servicing our home since day one was usually in and out in less than 15 minutes. We later learned that she was no longer with the company, and this time we were assigned a different technician, Skyler. The difference was immediately noticeable. Skyler spent nearly twice as much time treating our home, and it quickly became clear why we had continued to see bugs despite being on a regular service plan. In fact, we had canceled our last appointment because we were questioning whether to continue paying for a service we weren't happy with. However, we decided to reschedule and give them one last chance, and we are so glad we did. We were pleasantly surprised when Skyler arrived instead of our usual technician. Skyler's visit helped us realize that the issue was never Standley Pest Control itself. Every interaction we had with the office was timely, professional, and courteous. Ultimately, the real issue was that we hadn't yet experienced the level of service the company is capable of providing. He took his time, was thorough, and made us feel confident that the job was being done properly. His professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to do the job right showed us the level of service we had been hoping for all along. More importantly, he completely changed our perception of the company. But we found Do It Yourself Pest Control on Yelp and after describing the issue, we were given the precise products to get rid of those nasty devils. This is kind of a long story but people need to know my experience…read more I got involved with Green Smiths for my lawn. I have for many years taken care of my own lawn and always had the envy of my neighbors. When i moved to Florida I thought I would try a lawn service and Green Smiths was recommended. They sold me on how great they are and my lawn is thier priority. Well its such a concern of theirs but after almost three months it doesnt look and better than my neighbors that do not have a service. So here in The Villages Florida I get that when they liad the sod down there is no top soil its sand. Ok fine, thats why I got the service in the first place. But after $200.00 and NO CHANGE? So I call them and they send two folks out. What I got was nothing but excuses why. Then to top it off besides them saying it will take time I can speed things up by buying and putting top soil on top of the grass. WAIT I HAVE TO DO THIS? So I say: Then what the heck did I hire your guys for. Crickets! I just canceled my subcription because its BS. Yesterday looked at my lawn and the blades of grass in several areas are turning yellow. Not from not enough water (the soil is moist) but the yellow blades means (in this case) NOT ENOUGH NUTRIENTS IN THE SOIL! Annnd on top of that lots of weeds that should not be there. So that means whatever they supposedly are doing is not working or they arent doing it. Final though: Thier pitch is good family run etc etc etc. Lawn looks like crap and I personally would have gotten better usage out of my $200 by setting it on fire and watching it burn in my driveway. Called and canceled and didnt even ask what the problem was or try to correct it. One other thing: I had them come out before thier next scheduled visit (thats when I was told about the top soil deal) by calling them out early all of a sudden the date of my monthly bill changes. WHAT???? I called and complained and they fixed it but I perminatley fixed the issue. I DON'T USE THEM ANYMORE! WOW.
