I drove out of my way from a beach town to find B&D Tailors because of the positive reviews. I was not disappointed.! my garment is a jacket, bought off the rack from a high-end designer. It was the last one, but, alas, a size too big.. The fellows at B &D took the measurements, gave me alternative suggestions, and such to work Result: the jacket looks better than ever and fits like a glove ! Delivered on time. These guys are experienced, knowledgeable, pleasant honest and patient !! Went in to have a nice men's suit fitted after losing a lot of weight due to an illness. It was needed for my son's wedding in about 7 days, I had procrastinated! After putting the suit on, Gary and Armadou were very helpful in explaining that considering the total costs involved (total deconstruction was needed), the age of the suit and the time needed for the job, I'd be better off buying a new one (possibly off the rack) where the alt's. would be minimal. They didn't have to have done that! They answered all my questions, and I asked a lot. Gary helped me out even more by taking my measurements; for a starting point when I began to scramble for my quest finding a new suit. The first time I stopped in to get measurements for a tux rental in another state, they told me to come back with what specific measurements to make. Fine, I suppose--different places do have different measurements (outseam vs inseam, etc). But it would have made more sense and saved a lot of time to just do a few extra measurements (there are fewer than 10 total measurements in the longest list). It seems quite silly to not do that and ask a customer to make another trip just to save 3 minutes of measuring. When I did come back with exactly what was being asked for the gentleman wanted $10 just to take the measurements. Someone who has never been to a tailor might have fallen for that. But I've had measurements + alterations combined done for less. They tried to make a quick $10 and lost many more from a local who would have gladly returned a number of times. read more

The price for a hem alteration on an evening gown is displayed as $28. I went in and asked whether I could get my dress done by the next day. They tried to charge me $65!!!! I argued and got the price to $55. Still extortionate but I had left it to the last minute so had no other choice. The tailor measured me and my dress and agreed to have it done by the next day by close of business. Luckily I went earlier than that to find that the hem of my dress was less than straight and I would say, too short in places. So the tailor quickly made the required changes. I would not recommend this place. read more

Their prices are fair but their talent is unmatched. I too have had multiple tailors in the Annapolis area, some who even did custom suits, say they wouldn't recommend an alteration or that it wasn't possible. Without fail I would take the garment to B&D and they wouldn't bat an eye. They've taken a 40R sport coat, completely deconstructed it, removed shoulder pads, and ultimately made it a flawless 38S. When you save over $600 on a cashmere sport coat and they can make it look custom made for $75, it's hard to ask for more. I've referred multiple friends all with equally difficult alterations and they've all been more than impressed. Of note, the tailor during the previous ownership of Annapolis Custom Clothiers actually referred me to this shop. These guys are downright ninjas with a thread and needle. read more

Small and humble and do great work. Get all my things tailored here. Recently had a custom alteration to a refurbished over coat and it looks brand new as if a designer had manufactured it. Staff is a one man customer service with himself and another working. Very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended. read more

Took a very expensive very thick wool peacoat there and I was super nervous about it getting ruined. The tailor was very nice and ensured us that it would be a easy fix and to come back in two weeks. In less than two weeks he called and it was ready. The alteration is seamless (no pun intended) and fits him perfectly! Soooo happy to have found this place! Amadu's my go-to tailor. In fact, although I now live in NYC for grad school, I still bring pieces to him when I visit my parents. He's done fantastic work on everything you could think of. More routine work at extremely reasonable prices, all the way to tailoring a banana republic outlet suit in almost every way to nearly match a much more premium custom made suit. Highly recommended, and he'll even accommodate if you have very short timelines. read more

When I first entered the shop, the tailor was chatting with a friend and ignored me for a while, then rushed me through the measuring process. The work was done well and fair-priced, but the customer service put me off. A fine shop if it's convenient to get to, but there are better shops in the area for sure. read more

I tried B & D Tailors for the first time this month. I brought a skirt, long flared pants and a summer dress in for alterations (the dress to have straps shortened for better fit, the pants to be taken in and a long skirt to be taken in and shortened). The person there at the time (Rose) took her time measuring me. The alterations were available a week later as agreed upon and everything looks like a million bucks. It's a little pricier than you might pay elsewhere but it's worth it to have the level of care my clothes received. I would definitely go back. Thanks so much! read more

This was my first time using B&D and it was a very complicated project as I needed to have a couture dress modified after having major back surgery. I read the reviews about Amadou and they were right! He is outstanding and finished in time for me to take to a wedding out of town. I had to get fabric and lining to add to both sides of the dress, including some special "piping"; I don't think ANYONE ELSE could have pulled off this magic act!! He and his assistant are also friendly, professional and charming so we will be taking all of our alterations here in the future. No more Nordstrom's!! read more
